Smooth and Easy Process

The buy back process went very smoothly. I wasn't able to determine what generation iPod i had directly from the criteria on the website, and my message to Customer Support was answered promptly. Other than that, everything proceeded as described on the site, and I received my check promptly. I wouldn't hestitate to do this again.

I sold two phones to Buy Back World

I sold two phones to Buy Back World. They gave one a value of 45.00 and the other for 15.00. They did not send me any payment. When I contacted customer service they told me that they had made payment and complaint was solved. This company is a scam. Do not send your phone to them. They will keep the phone and make no payment to the account This company doesn’t deserve 1star rating!

Easy

Easy, they shipped me packing materials (although admittedly the wrong sizes of some of the packing sleeves) and I mailed it and a few days later I got email confirmations and then got paid on venmo.
It doesn't get easier than that.

The best way to sell your devices!

The best way to sell your devices!

I have used BuyBackWorld several times and always found the experience to be quick, easy, and offer the best money for my devices. Their website is easy to navigate, then shortly afterward they send you a box with protective wrap for your devices and prepaid postage.

I highly recommend this service and will continue to use them in the future.

The claim that my iPod Classic is making a clicking noise

I have used BuyBackWorld for previous purchases, and must say that they have provided exceptional service; until today. Today I must report that they have let me down. I sent them a 160gb iPod Classic, and they offered me $50.00, now they have downgraded that offer to $3.00 - I accepted the offer, but I'm very disappointed with the reason for the downgraded offer. They cited two reasons for the downgraded offer.

1 - They claimed that the hard drive makes clicking noises. I have been using the iPod for many years, and it sits(sat) appx 2 feat away from my head. If it were making 'clicking sounds' (which I know is indicative of a failing hard drive) I would have heard it. I have never needed to 'reformat' the hard drive (until I went to sell it) and it never suffered any data loss or read failures during the time that I owned it (14 years). Once they got their hands on it, it is apparently making clicking noises.
2 - They claim that there is engraving on the back. That's true, but there wasn't anywhere in the request for a quote form where I could report that there was an engraving, and I didn't see anything on the offer that discussed a reduction in cost if there was an engraving. The engraving was innocuous and did not consist of PII (Personally Identifiable Information).

The reduction from a $50.00 offer to $3.00 was very disappointing, especially since they are claiming that the unit was defective (clicking hard drive), and it wasn't when I sent it to them. If the device had a clicking hard drive, I wouldn't have submitted it for sale (or I would have reported the problem with the hard drive). I guess its possible it may have been damaged in shipping, but I find that unlikely because I was very generous in packing materials.

I think they are making up the clicking hard drive issue so they can recover a larger price when they resell my iPod Classic (6th Gen). They go for a good price on resale.

I accepted their offer of $3.00, but I doubt that I will use them again. Obviously I could have rejected their offer and had them send the unit back to me, but I no longer have a need for the unit, and would only have to try and sell the item to a different 'buy back' company.

Given this experience, it is doubtful that I will use them again.

Skeptical at first, but good

After reading other reviews, I wasn’t sure whether or not I should sell to them. However, my device was processed on time and payment was issued promptly, and when I had a payment issue they resolved it quickly. I got the exact price I was quoted for. I would use this company again if I needed to sell another device fast for a decent price.

This company plays games!!!

This company plays games. They stated because of COVID things were taking longer. The offered me $140 for the phone I had and after over a week they came back offering me $25. They want to pretend the phone's ESN is locked by Sprint. This phone was NEVER on the Sprint network and is unlocked. I called T-Mobile and did everything they (BuyBackWorld.com) asked me to do and was told by T-Mobile there is nothing on there end locking the phone, the account is closed, there is no balance on the account, and the phone is not stolen per their records (they allowed me to put it on their network so obviously that is the case). I AM LIVID that this company thinks they are going to insult me and lie to try to steal the phone!!!

Very satisfied, would recommend.

I was really worried that these buy old electronics site were scams. But, BuyBackWorld offered me a good price and I felt like I had nothing to lose. The process was simple. They took care of everything. It could have been a little faster, but all things considered it was fine. Overall I'm very satisfied and would use them again.

Easy to way to recycle electronics

Easy to deal with. I have used them on several occasions for recycling phones and tablets. Not a lot of money in it even for the items I have sold to them which have all been in the "excellent" condition category, and in their original boxes. For me it's more about the recycling with the money as a nice small bonus
