Çheck the Garmin Edge Explore 2 is right for you
Bought a Garmin Edge Explore 2 after using the the 705 and 810. What a dissapointment. Now on my 3rd device after 15 months. Features are complicated, profiles are fixed with the indoor one meant to be used on turbo?
Cannot change profile names or mileage logs.
OK it has a good size screen and maps preloaded but first unit set back be on/button fell off, second unit would not register altitude gain.
Wish I had gone for another make no where near as good as 810 and sales blurb does not mention any of the restrictions.
GARMIN SWIM 2 WRISTBAND
Bought the Garmin swim 2, partly my own fault for not looking at strap measurements... I have a large wrist circumference, unfortunately when I received the watch it's too small. I've worn swimtag monitors provided by my local leisure centre, unfortunately they stopped doing this, hence, my search for a smartwatch to monitor my swim time.
I contacted Garmin customer service, confirmed that the biggest watch band isn't adequate for me. It's such a shame that I can't keep this due to the band size. Hopefully this review will help other people with a larger wrist circumference choose a better option.
I notice there isn't a response from Garmin customer service to any of the reviews posted on Trustpilot, surely they should be taking note of reviews, especially when they are discriminating against people with larger wrist dimensions.
Sorry Garmin, don't know what all the hype is, time to look elsewhere.
I was so disappointed... but now I'm happy again!
Update from 1 star on 7 Feb. I was initially very disappointed! I've had Garmin watches for years and have had to contact their support on numerous occasions and have always been pleased with the service. However, my watch is playing up - battery not lasting and optical HR broken. The very pleasant customer service person just spoke to me for a while and then I received an email asking questions. Some of which seemed a bit generic/repetitive, which irritates me. There was no confirmation they had received my answers and no indication at all of expected response time. Then when I was given a survey to rate them the number of words permitted was so small I gave up trying to say anything. Hopefully it gets resolved quickly but if not I might reluctantly look at other manufacturers if I can establish they have a better customer service offering. Now that I'm using Strava and not Garmin Connect it might be less of an issue swapping.
Once I had received a response to my query - a couple of days later - it all went much better. I've been given a 30% discount for a trade in - UPS label, was delivered to them the next day and the day after they have shipped my new Fenix. All is forgiven. Just feel that my expectations could have been managed initially with a timeline statement on the first email.
Where do I start…
Where do I start…. I have a forunner965 which at first was okay for about 3 days since then I’ve had nothing but problems with it, first the calories are not tracking right and showing incorrect data being significantly less than what I should be burning. Secondly the step count yet again is significantly less, my friend done the same walk around London his said 18k steps mine said 11k how can there be such a difference when he has the same watch as me??? Lastly the main issue now is when I run outside it is giving out the wrong data in distance and my pace being so wrong due to this, I done a 19k run with my friend twice the same route, his watch both times said 19k in distance and pace average 5:55km mine said 22.5k at 5:15 pace. This has now happened my last 5 runs having told garmin all of this over the phone they are saying my data is right which is not physically possible I know my paces and have tracked it several times now, they answer now is you need to keep doing the same run again and again for us to see. They are the worse and most incompetent customer service I have come across, I paid £600 for something that doesn’t even collect the right data. I’ve had to re set my whole watch, let’s see how this goes…. Waste of time don’t buy form garmin!
Six week old fēnix 8
Six week old fēnix 8 - 51 mm, Solar, Sapphire... Working great for weeks but today it started resetting each time I chose an activity that uses the GPS, such as "Trail Run" or "Run".
Called Garmin, known issue. Basically they broke various watch models with the latest update. They will provide more information on a permanent fix when available.
Basic software testing not being done for system updates. Unacceptable.
Fantastic Customer service and Support
I have a Garmin Nav 6 on my BMW bike and after nearly four years it's got the usual it seems screen fault.
So I contacted Garmin for support via live chat
Almost instantly I got through to a very helpful chap.Gave me a case number and sent UPS labels.I questioned whether the unit was being replaced and he confirmed it would be but warned me the new one wouldn't be available until March.Bit disappointed but a replacement is a fantastic relief ( they are expensive) Anyway I posted the old unit and Actually received a NEW one back inside four days.!
Absolutely superb customer service,What great support on a nearly four year old device
I’m now on my 4th Garmin Vivo Style
I’m now on my 4th Garmin Vivo Style. They keep going wrong, battery life drops to less than a day within a couple of months, shocking customer service.
I need to return this one now and I’m starting to wonder whether it’s even worth bothering given how unhelpful they are.
I will never buy another Garmin - the price point infers quality but they are far from that.
Horrible
Horrible, took 3 months to post then sent me a faulty watch, spoke with 5+ people about getting it fixed and nothing. Explained, sent screenshots for months and nothing. Hopeless
I bought his and hers Garmin watches
I bought his and hers Garmin watches. The digital copy of the mainstream brands for my wife and the blokes looking Instinct 2 for me.
My one is unusable, buttons are clunky and screen too hard to see. Absolute rubbish
The real problem was that we were not allowed to view one before buying.
I was worried why Garmin were so popular in watches as they have always been a poor performer in the marine field. Dont buy anything Garmin, there is better out there.
Cancelled order
I tried purchasing a watch from Garmin directly but the order got cancelled with no reason provided. Customer support said it had to with the payment method. I tried various payment methods, with the details I had provided correct, but none worked. Customer service suggested purchasing via retailer which I of course won’t do as the discount I had (available through work and amounted to ~£200) isn’t available via retailer. Customer service said there is nothing they can do. Probably a load of * so that I pay full price some place else. Won’t be buying a Garmin.
Bike trainer
Ordered a bike trainer in their holiday sale and it got cancelled 6 times on 4 different cards. Nothing wrong with the cards or the information entered. We tried debit and credit cards and all were cancelled with no actual reason. The sale is now over and now want us to pay full price when it’s an issue on their end. Customer service is so poor and just said to try another card when we have tried all of them after that they’ve ignored us. Lost a very loyal customer, will be supporting smaller companies who distribute and actually care about their customers.
Positive experience
I seriously cannot understand all the negative reviews.
I had a fault with my watch which I reported to them, and they’ve arranged a free replacement.
What more can you ask for?
Don't buy from these people
Don't buy from these people. I bought a watch online. They're saying it's been delivered. But my husband was home & we received no email from the courier they use. But they're refusing to resend it or refund us until they've done a thorough investigation. It's already been 5 days and they haven't even started.
GARMIN IS JUST TERRIBLE
AVOID GARMIN!
I purchased an item online that was never delivered. The item is still on its way and it has been like this for 10 days with no further information. I asked to have it cancelled and to have it refunded. The customer service is the worst ever. They don't listen to you and they don't care about you at all. Garmin refused to cancel the delivery and refund me until they get their item returned. So now I am seriously worried that they will not refund me because the parcel is lost.
Terrible customer service
Terrible customer service. Refused to provide any kind of update on delivery. Had to buy the product from somewhere else to have any confidence in having it in time for Christmas, and will be sending it straight back to Garmin as soon as it turns up.
Customer service are a pointless bunch…
Customer service are a pointless bunch of scripted robots.
Do Not Buy Direct From Garmin
Delayed dispatch and further delays from UPS, will be the next day, and the next day. Still waiting.
This review not so much about the quality of product but based on this purchase I won’t be buying direct from Garmin again, but via a local stockist.
i have loved garmin watches ,well till…
i have loved garmin watches ,well till they have an issue and you have to get hold of customer service , take the word service out of that as there is none, i got a descent mk3i with tansmitter this is a £2000 item bought only a few months ago. having charging issues i called first time about 10mins wait ,then talked to someone who said they had to check and would call me right back. 4 days later no call , each time i tried the chat it was not working, i called again 33mins waiting on hold talked to someone who then passed me to someone else another 14mins on hold i gave up, itried chat which only answered 4 questions over a 25 min period. whos final answer was to update through garmin express , i said can i do that on phone , was told no use a lap top and plug watch into it. she then left chat.
i tried to down load express 2 things
1- its only windows compatable and i dont know a single person with windows now its basically obsolete
2- the phone charger end doesnot plug into a usb as its not usb
so i have a £2000 item and just get a run around from garmin when you do get through to anyone. i bought it direct from garmin. theres no email to contact anyone through.
They have been so disappointing.
They have been so disappointing.
I had the Fenix 5, which was great for years, so I decided to upgrade to a new model. I switched to the Epix 2, but one day after coming out of the water, the back button stopped working. The watch was only 4 months old. I had purchased it from John Lewis, and when I took it back, they inspected it and refunded me on the spot.
I then decided to go back to the Fenix series and bought the Fenix 7 directly from Garmin. However, 6 months later, the same issue happened again. I initially thought the first incident was a one-off, but when it happened again, I requested a refund. Garmin refused but said the watch was under warranty and offered to replace it.
Garmin sent me a UPS shipping label, and I dropped the watch off. For a few days, it seemed like the watch was lost—the tracking details stopped updating once it reached the UPS sorting office. Garmin was no help at all. When I contacted them, they refused to assist, stating (and I quote their email): “We do not input any tracking info to any third-party website,” even though UPS is their shipping partner, and Garmin had provided me with the tracking details.
Two and a half weeks later, I finally received an email from Garmin saying they had received the device. Two days after that, they informed me that my watch color was out of stock. They offered either a different color—which I didn’t like—or the option to wait three months for my preferred color to come back in stock. Still no refund
The tone in some of their emails was shocking. I didn’t expect it at all. Out of curiosity, I checked their Trustpilot reviews, and it’s clear they don’t care. When I asked what would happen if UPS confirmed the watch was lost, their response was to "deal with UPS or contact law enforcement." Unbelievable.
if you look at the Garmin watch google garmin back button not working.
Very helpful
I was a bit hesitant about using the online chat as I didn’t think the issue would be resolved but after speaking with a lovely lady named Shellie, she was nothing but helpful with my enquiry from start to finish with speedy, thorough replies. Followed up my enquiry like she said she would, extremely friendly and went out of her way to ensure everything was resolved! The customer service was on point.
