46,000 golf courses… 45,000 have errors
They advertise 46,000 golf courses, but don’t mention how many are accurate. Based on my experience, I’d guess not many. I’ve only checked 2 courses with Approach G80, both had errors. One course had 2 holes with incorrect par plus wrong slope rating. The handicap calculation using index/slope rating is way off from WHS calculation… by 7 shots. For the other course I tested, the slope rating was off by 14. I submitted course error report a month ago, but didn’t get a confirmation email or any response. I submitted it again today & then went on their customer support chat. Was told because they have 46,000 courses, updates are rolled out in batches 3 times a year, but couldn’t tell me when the next release is or if the errors I reported would be included. So essentially the €500 device I purchased is essentially useless.
Purchased the Garmin bc40 wireless…
Purchased the Garmin bc40 wireless reverse camera. Screen cracked after two months for no reason at all. Never had this issue with previous aftermarket cameras I’ve used. Obviously made from cheap materials. When I made a complaint to Garmin, they advised I’d need to pay a further £81.53 for a replacement which is an absolute joke. Don’t buy, awful product, awful customer service
Failing to address issues with known device design flaws
Got a Vivosmart 5 watch a couple of years ago for Christmas which developed a problem with the button. This is apparently a known design flaw in the design because Garmin have help pages dedicated to resolving it. A piece of dirt gets stuck in the single interface button, which makes the device impossible to use.
Garmin replaced the first device without any fuss. The replacement then developed the exact same problem within two months of receiving it.
Garmin have offered me another replacement but refuse to replace it with a properly functioning model or give me a refund, meaning that I now expect to have to go through this whole process again in a few months when the same problem develops yet again.
worst website and worst support service
I just bought a TopoActive Maps for Europe on the Website. I made the order and paid by credit card but did not get any confirmation then I made it again and paid by PayPal and did not get any confirmation as well.
I contacted Europe support to cancel one of the orders and ask about the second order. he said yes we will cancel one order and that was fine for me. but I asked when do I get my order. it's a map which I can download it. he answered I don't know when you will get it. it will take some time and I am still waiting to get a confirmation email from Garmin.!!!
Garmin S60 golf watch
Garmin S60 golf watch, 300 euro worth of crap, misses shots all over the place. Misses on course shots and starts them at random points so my course review looks like a childs crayon drawing. The satellite doesn't pick up my course at times and starts my round at random holes when it feels like it. Im getting a bit tired of these companies selling sub standard products and charging ridiculous amounts for them. I can honestly say I won't be buying a Garmin ever again.
dreadful customer service
Ordered a new forerunner, website said would be despatched within 4-7 days. Waited almost two weeks, was not showing despatched. Contacted Garmin on chat to be told they were out of stock until June! Website still says they are despatched within 4-7 days, and they clearly weren't going to tell me of the delay! Dreadful customer service.
Just seen video of one of your security…
Just seen video of one of your security guards assaulting a man filming your building, I’m disgusted by Garmins attitude to filming, I will Not ever buy a product made by this company ever again!! . This will cost you.
A Total disgrace
By far the worst company employees out there one assaulted a member of public on Newmans copse road while he was in charge of a drone trying to snatch the control out of his hand mid flight thus breaking the law and management supporting the guy attacking the pilot total disregard for the safety of others, I will never buy any product from them and their other companies
MD and Mark NEED TO BE SACKED !!!!
The way Mark and the so called MD Sean dealt with DJ's visit was absolutely appalling !!!
Mark was probably led on by Sean and as he seemed to be giving him instructions, he is as much to blame if not more so !!!
What a disgrace to Garmin...
As for Sean laughing and not having a clue what he was talking about makes it even more unbelievable that he has even got to the position of MD
I HOPE that the CEO takes action against these 2 i diots for bringing the company name in to disrepute..
Company employee assaulting and…
Company employee assaulting and endangered a drone pilot in the public area outside. Really terrible attitude towards a legal activity. Didn’t have a clue about the law or CAA legislation yet tried to snatch the controller from an operators hand while in flight and near electrical pylons.
The staff physically attacked a guy in the street
I have just watched a video on YouTube, and witnessed an employee (Mark) physically attack a member of the public in a public area, and attempt to snatch a Drone controller which is a 'criminal offence'.
Sean Biddlecombe, the Managing Director did not seek to address or resolve the matter in a positive, non-combative way. In fact; he clearly made fun of the incident, supporting the employee & the criminal offence' that was committed.
I do not recommend anyone to use this company.
I understand; the victim is pressing ahead with criminal charges.
Not a good worldwide image for a US company
The area of my 1 year old Navionics chart can't be upgraded
My one year old chart of Plat+ XL EU English Channel 5P392XL is no longer available for upgrade. You are ripping us off on my update by looks of things! I can only update to half of the area I had paid for which is the English Channel. How can this be reasonable? No reply to my support messages. Don't trust Garmin as the update prices are ridiculous and service non existant.
Terrible customer service
Ordered a product. Delivery window passed. I enquired and found that the product had mysteriously gone out of stock. Needed for a birthday so left firmly in the lurch. Cancelled the order but I won't see my money for 4-7 working days. They should have contacted me sooner,.offered expedited refund or alternative product with money off. Complete indifference to my difficulty was frustrating. Will not patronise again.
Absolute horrible and pathetic customer service
Let me start with that I have used Garmin watches, they're a gem if you want a sports watch and a tracker. I do have a couple of them and have never faced any issues before, so never had to call support. Ordered the Vivoactive 5 and it seemed like a toy watch. I didn't like it as it was not getting connected to my phon and syncing properly and returned it within a week. Details below :
Absolute pathetic customer service. I created a return within a week. Called customer support and asked them if I can just drop it at the warehouse as it's within the same postcode and they said I need to ship it with tracking. I did that on the same day. Watch showed delivered in 2 days on the Post Website tracking. I called them in another 3 days to check if they've recieved the watch and I was told that it takes 10 days for processing and there is no way support can get in touch with warehouse. Called after 10 days and got transferred to product support, who mentioned a] that they have no ticketing system, there are no records of my previous calls to Garmin Support b] they've not received the watch at the warehouse. They requested evidence. I was on call for 51 mins with Safiya and shared screenshots of my call records with date and time from my phone as well as tracking details with screenshot. She assured me that she'll investigate and get in resolved within 48 hours. 1 week out and still no update, called them again and had to explain them everything for an hour.
Still waiting for an update.
Absolute Pathetic customer support and service and will refrain from buying a Garmin again.
Don’t buy their watches
Don’t buy their watches. They stop working and Garmin will not respond to emails or phone you back when you try to contact them in the Help section. Watch only lasted about 3 months
Taken money with no dispatch
Firstly, I've used Garmin products for ages. Normally the products are fine. What I don't understand is that when I order a part, I hear nothing for 2 weeks, and then have to email of my own intiative to get any update, a response to which takes 4 days. Still hasn't been dispatched and I don't know if it will
Horrific customer service, no wonder they are losing out to Wahoo etc.
Rally XC100 pedals are terrible
I’ve spent £ thousands on Garmin products over the years. However, after getting the Tally XC100 pedals, which are complete garbage and never accurate, and after contacting support who have not replied for several days now, I’m going to move away from Garmin. The customer service is just sooooo slow and bad. I can’t quite believe it as it doesn’t match their pricing. Going with Assioma as they’ve been great for my other pedals in comparison.
Horrific customer service
Horrific customer service - taken money out of my account at multiple points without any communication. Left me without £100s of pounds. No response or replies - avoid if you can!
Junk.
Junk, everything I’ve purchased with a Garmin name on it is junk. From auto GPS to golf watch, it falls apart and quits working before warranty is expired and of course their customer service staff is trained to deny any warranty claim. Awful products and really bad customer service.
Motorcycle device?
This is supposed to be a motorcycle navigation device. It routed me towards a tunnel in Paris where it is illegal to ride a motorcycle. On previous days it kept locking up and had to be reset three times in one day. It then locked completely in Paris after diverting away from the tunnel, giving me no navigation. Look at the Forums (which I have just done) and you will see this is a common problem yet they keep selling this sub standard device which is potentially dangerous. I would not recommend it, as it is not fit for purpose.
