Bulls not forthcoming about the Bosch motors
Purchased a Bulls ICONIC EVO TR 2 Speed from a Bulls dealer on
7-15-26 in Upland, CA. Upon riding the bike, I realized that the Bosch Speed motor did not have enough torque (85Nm) for my needs as an older rider. Only put a couple of miles on the bike, and returned it. I spoke to my dealer, and it is my understanding that the 5th gen Bosch CX motors are the only motors in the Bosch line up that can be upgraded to a higher torque. It is also my understanding that Bulls DOES NOT MENTION THIS when one is looking to purchase an ebike on the Bulls website, very misleading, and this is why their prices are low, "too good to be true". My dealer attempted to ask Bulls to take the bike back, but NO was their answer. I would take another Bulls ebike in trade IF it was guaranteed to be a bike with a 5th gen motor THAT CAN BE UPGRADED TO 2.0. However, I have been told that Bulls will not have any 5th gen Bosch ebikes in their warehouse until late 2026, that they are trying to offload the older motors now, hence their lower price. But unfortunately, Bulls does not want to keep a customer satisfied.
Even their website says that "We stand behind everything we sell. If for any reason your are not satisfied with your purchase, simply return the item within 14 days after delivery or pick up date, and we'll replace it or give you a refund." WOW, they do not stand behind their dealers.
Will be looking elsewhere for a bike with higher torque.
