Excellent value

Excellent value, with a broad range of aroma chemicals and high-quality naturals, especially Indian naturals like sambac, sandalwood, attar mitti, ruh khus, etc. European absolutes from Payan Bertrand, Robertet, etc. Delivery to Australia is fast, well priced and highly competitive.

Excellent Supplier

I have been ordering from them for more than 2 years. Being from India, I initially doubted, but over time, after using the products, I have not been disappointed. It has been expanding the assortment to include naturals and many local versions of perfumery accords, such as different versions of oud, rose, or marine fragrances. The owner and his team will guide you if you explain what you are looking for, and the type of quality you want. They stock all the same products from the usual suspects like Firmenich, Givaudan, Albert Vieille, BASF, etc., and they are all fine. I work across multiple categories of perfumery products, from perfumes to home fragrance, and I would have had issues with polarity, or lack of projection, if the products were cut or diluted. Many materials solidify or become syrupy at room temperature, but not when cut.

If you know anything about chemistry, cutting raw materials requires a full setup to deliver functional results, which demands staff, labs, GC exams, and many rounds of testing across different categories; it's a big investment. Not to mention the cost and storage of the diluents you would use. Cutting products at the distributor level is impractical, especially if they have to cross borders. The financial loss in case of being caught is just not worth it. Bulk Aroma is a mid- to large-sized distributor that's quickly expanding. If they were smaller, I might have thought they cut products on a kitchen table, but as a larger organization, I doubt they would have the time or wish to spend capital doing so.
Their large assortment is not a kitchen-table operation; they respond to texts or emails at virtually any hour of the day or evening, they are upfront about current shipment and tariff costs, and they are very thorough in following up and tracking parcels.

For an aficionado just starting up perhaps the shipping costs are high because they now include tariffs, but for a mid-size business, or a pro who's been around for a few years, or if you have a business in which you need to stock core blenders, specific aroma chemicals, if you build your own fruity, floral or green accords, it's an excellent source.

Odorless aldehydes

I purchased around 24 items recently from bulkaroma under order #9510. Out of which aldehyde c16 and c14 are completely odorless. Since all other items I am using first time, so I can not confirm if they are legit.

This is the first time I found such issue with product from bulkaroma.

Amazing products

Amazing products, way over the expectations. There was a small hiccup with the shipping, but that was resolved quickly. All in all great company

Good experience ordering in the USA

I had a very positive experience with Bulk Aroma. There is very little information available on forums like the diy fragrance forum on basenotes.com but enough people had a good experience that I decided to give them a shot. For my first order I stuck with the big brand names like Firmenich and Takasago -- some materials I liked more than my current stock some less. Nothing was adulterated/diluted/or contaminated in any way. The differences to my current stock are the usual variations by age and material lot, like I said some were better than my current stock some were not quite as good. This is not uncommon with aroma chemicals. For my next order I will be trying some of their very affordable materials made by generic manufacturers

Hello

Hello ,

Regarding Bulk Aroma I have a very unfortunate experience with them , I placed two consecutive orders on the website , it took for the first order around 10 days to ship my order via Fedex which is still stuck in India because the super unprofessional shipper (bulkaroma) did not provide the right documents , it has been 16 days and no response from them regardless the tons of emails that I've sent
The second order was never shipped !
The total amount is around 800$ , Conclusion : a scam-ish unprofessional website that you should never deal with.

We were amidst a move since 10th of March 2025 till 20th of March 2025. We notified all buyers who placed orders since March via email under Subject: Temporary Operational Pause & Order Dispatch Update – Important Notice (refer detailed response & email content on reddit https://www.reddit.com/r/DIYfragrance/comments/16towdb/comment/milh9dn/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web3x&utm_name=web3xcss&utm_term=1&utm_content=share_button).

Client`s first order placed on March 4th was shipped on March 13 (notified via email as well) and there was a request from Indian Customs via FEDEX team for more info on Section 14 of MSDS (specific to Lebanon) on March 15th.

During this time, we were moving everything to our new location and we were also trying to resolve with the Fedex team as well. On March 19th buyer left a support ticket about issue with the shipment. By the time we were to respond on March 20th, our first day of restarting our operations, the buyer left the following message (attached below) and had raised concern in Basenotes & Reditt. On communicating about the challenges we faced with Fedex, buyer did accept and did agree to wait to see if we could revolve it.

Since we could not get this to the next step, on March 25th, we gave options to re route shipment via DHL or to refund. Buyer asked us to refund. We initated a refund on 27th as there were delays in fund transfers from banks. For us, since the buyer was firm on on timelines for refund, it was very challenging and stressful for us. The refund is expected to show up in recipient`s account in 5 to 7 days, and we are always committed in taking accountability and explore any other payment routes incase if any challenges arise.

Ticket from Buyer:
"Regarding orders 5740 that is still in india and5799 which was never shipped I would like to receive my money back as on my card , since I dont believe you are able to provide a good service at all.

I am already in contact with the authorities in India and Lebanon regarding your website , I am also in contact with Fedex and your payment processor with full proofs that you are a scammer website .

I also did report your website on every perfumery community ( basenote , reddit , ... ) and to the https://reportfraud.ftc.gov/ for fraud .

I am not going to let you enjoy stealing people . "

Scammers, avoid buying from them

They sell perfume raw materials at an attractive price, however, if there is any problem with the shipment, good luck with it. They sell from India, and they are not responsible at all for what may happen to the package. If unfortunately you have any problems with it, they will reply that from the moment they send it from there it is your responsibility for what happens to the package, they wash their hands of it. I lost my money and I advise you never to buy from them.

This is Prashant from Bulkaroma. I personally handled this case wherethe buyer placed his second order from Spain.

The Customs in Spain didn't clear this parcel because the buyer didn't submit required documents to clear shipments. Infact in one of his early responses on WhatsApp, he clearly mentioned that its not our fault (we have screenshot of all the conversations & updates) and then flipped the responsibility on us. We work with a few clients from Spain, some have licenses and some go to customs office personally to explain their case.

We are not responsible for any compliance requirements not met by the buyer and we have indicated this clearly on the website terms and also at the time of checkout. For instance, in Spain, it requires a cosmetic/pharmaceutical license to import fragrances or they should have atleast a personal EORI number that permits import of 3/4 shipments on a yearly basis (please verify from EORI site). These are subjects that come under the responsibility of the buyer to meet compliance requirements.

Having said that, for our part, we did all we could in supporting with data and offered to refund Material costs excluding shipping fees because the materials were sent back to us. The buyer did inform us that he will talk about this in all forums and he felt we were cheating and expected a full refund. The Buyer also filed a case on Paypal, we presented our case with our terms (as indicated on the site), the buyer won & received money. If we were to do this again, it would still be the same stance from our side. Having recognized that Spain requires commercial licenses/EORI, we now take orders from Spain only if potential buyer has all the documentation or assures us of full responsibility if incase of rejection from Spanish Customs.
