Bluesky tried to be better than Twitter. But they failed. Now, it's just another toxic platform where they ban accounts like crazy. Customer support service is a joke here, too. They're getting very desperate to make Bluesky look good still. But it's pathetic.

This is 100% true. If you do not believe me, e-mail me and I will be happy to show you the conversations I had with their customer support team.

I signed up for the platform using my real info. No fake e-mail. No one-time use e-mail generated by Apple or DuckDuckGo or any other service designed to protect your privacy.

I uploaded a real photo of myself. (I did not take the Avatar route)

I followed the people they suggested I follow.

Everything seemed great.

Less than one hour later I received an e-mail stating my account had been shut down because I had violated their terms of service. (Think I'm kidding? Like I said, feel free to contact me and I will show you.)

Call me crazy but... how did I violate the terms of service? By signing up and following a few people?

I didn't even have a chance to post anything.

My opinion? Their site/service is a complete waste of time. The whole thing is probably a scam designed to collect e-mail addresses so they can spam the heck out of you.

Very Poor Service

Honestly, my experience with this app has been quite disappointing. As a small social media influencer, I joined Bluesky because some of my viewers encouraged me to create an account there. I simply shared my videos and engaged in normal activity, yet my account was suddenly taken down without any clear explanation.

When I contacted support, I was given a vague response mentioning “unusual activities,” even though I had not done anything beyond regular posting. I reached out multiple times for clarification, but unfortunately, I never received a proper response after the suspension.

This situation has been frustrating, especially when you are trying to grow and connect with your audience. I would encourage others to be cautious and mindful when investing their time into platforms where accounts may be suspended without clear communication or adequate support.

This is the safest and best app and I got rid of right and dangerous leaning and owned twitter threads IG and Facebook and have all I need with my Bloomfs on the skyline! Thank you bluesky! Still need an edit button

I hadn't heard of this social media app until the JetPack social media sharing plugin suggested it for sharing my Wordpress Blog posts. JetPack features other social media sites for sharing which I had already beein using for some time. I registered a Bsky profile and linked it to my Wordpress blog via JetPack. After a couple of successful posts, I then noticed that my Bsky app was suspended. If sharing blog posts is a crime then why do they allow Bsky to be included on the JetPack app? I received the following email:

Hi, We've reviewed activity on your account and found it violates Bluesky's Community Guidelines on Trust and Transparency. We keep our platform trustworthy by prohibiting deceptive and manipulative practices.

Do not send spam or repeatedly post content in ways that disrupt normal conversations or service use.

It can have up to date News and information and incisive comments.
'Suggestions for you' in the middle of a page is incredibly annoying. If you close them they pop up again.
I will no longer use Bluesky while this feature cannot be modified. Date of Experience is 'All The Time'.

I tried Bluesky for 19 days. I was looking for a valid alternative to X that didn’t contain only extremist politics and that wouldn’t put me into a state of permanent depression. In my short experience I followed about 90 profiles (mainly some news outlets and video game developers; I used Twitter mainly to stay updated on developers and narrative storytelling). I had a total of 22 followers. 21 of them were bots.

The platform was not a new version of the old Twitter, but X with a blue interface (and without an internal AI). That’s it. My feed was still filled with posts of hate against Trump. I am not a Trump supporter, but I don’t want to scroll and see only this kind of content. That was the reason why I left X in the first place. I believe the problem is not social networks, but the users. In 2025, social networks are no longer useful for anything other than brain rot.

Another failed social network. To put it bluntly, your platform is a fraud. It is undemocratic to prevent our followers from seeing the content they have chosen to see. I have 6.7k real followers, yet no more than 20–30 ever see my posts. Your CTR is far worse than Instagram, X, or Facebook. You should be ashamed!!

banned for challenging hate speech -naturally they won't tell me what triggered the ban but it is obvious. Useful idiots.

I usually never write such bad reviews, but i felt like i had to voice what I've experienced. Their moderation team is the least professional team I have ever encountered.

As I have seen some other people have complained about the same thing I experienced.
I received and email with very vague claims that my account seemed spammy and/or fake hence they suspended it. No evidence, no further reasoning.

I have contacted their moderation team via email shortly after I had received the email notifying me of the suspension. They replied in 5 minutes(!!) that in order to reinstate my account I need to send them my ID.

I had concerns about the process, so I decided to ask some questions to clarify the process and so on. They have been radio silent since then.

I have tried to appeal through the app. No response.
I have written a follow-up email. No response.

It's a shame really as the platform otherwise was quite enjoyable if it wasn't for the awful moderation system/team.

They have been ignoring my messages/concerns for about a month now. Very disappointing.

This is a not a place for transgendered or transsexual users who once found this website a safe haven. They also enable gamergate and comicsgate type creators to essentially dogpile on gamedevs and webcomic creators.

Platform is complicit in enabling the genocide in Gaza by daily deleting Palestinian profiles, suppressing their voices and the opportunity to ask for help. This app is personification of Kamala Harris. No character, no originality, no substance and pretending to be stupid and blind to the fact that ISRAEL IS COMMITING A GENOCIDE OF PALESTINIANS AND TAKING THEIR LAND.

Massive restrictions on freedom of speech are being applied on bsky as we speak.

Mostly good. However, there are people who seem to want to abuse it. So far it's endless "block, block, block" but that's becoming less now. It has potential. Just needs to mature more. Keep up the good work.

Has potential

I created an account and used it for a few months. However, for some reason the app needed to reload on my phone and when reloaded my details were missing. I added these but could not remember my password. Such a difficult process to gain entry with a forgotten password that I still have no access and have no intention of reusing.

They make the process of what to do if you have forgotten your password so complicated and a stressful experiance

It is impossible to delete the account. An error message appears every time despite the correct procedure being followed. Therefore, Bsky retain all your personal data as the only option is to (partially) deactivate your account. Tricksters

BlueSky - rotten nest of radical leftists, an echo chamber where freedom of speech dies as soon as you disagree with their twisted narrative. Think of that place as a mini North Korea filled with marxist propagandists.

I was a member for several months. I didn't log in for several weeks, and then when I did I found I was banned. No notification, no explanation, no warning. The site is coded so poorly that the box that pops up with the option to click it to appeal appears and vanishes within a second so that it can't be accessed. I was told to send an email to moderation. The email was ignored.

So I have no clue what I did, if anything, to earn the ban and they deliberately set up their site to make finding out or appealing impossible(both the website on a desktop AND the app do this so I must assume it's by design).

Considering all I did on there is mock right wingers, bsky probably has such types running the place now. I can't imagine why else making fun of right wing politicians and various fascists would earn a ban. The fact that they hide the cause of the ban proves they're hiding something.
