We were unlucky enough to break down on the side of the A1/M1 24 minutes from our destination, 100 miles from our home! The call handler was brilliant, reassuring, and put me immediately at ease. My 7 year old son and husband were with me. They gave an estimated recovery time of 90 minutes, and gave me a call every 30 minutes to check our welfare. The tracking for recovery was brilliant and the driver again friendly and helpful. We got taken to our planned destination, and recovery to our home booked swiftly. There was a hiccup with the hire car, mostly due to breaking down on a bank holiday weekend, but Britannia arranged for us to go home with the recovery instead of using the hire service in the end. Every person we spoke to was friendly, helpful and professional. Our chosen garage was unable to fix the car and one call to them and again they recovered the car super speedily to take it elsewhere. Britannia truly made a stressful situation so much easier to handle and we are just so grateful for taking out the cover on our insurance!

Absolutely useless service. I broke down today and attempted to contact Britannia Rescue three separate times for assistance, waiting around 20 minutes on each call with no answer. There appears to be no alternative way to get support either — no live chat, no email, just a single phone line that nobody answers.
When you've broken down and need help, being unable to contact your breakdown provider is incredibly frustrating and frankly defeats the point of paying for cover in the first place.
Very disappointing experience and I will be cancelling my policy and returning to the AA, as at least they answer the phone.

Had a policy for many years never needed to call,my daughter was on the policy and changed her car.phoned them to change details
informed by Britannia I have no policy.Told them they take the money each year by automatic renewal,they tried all addresses and vehicles etc no joy no policy was found.Lucky we didn't ever need to use it I thought 🤔.Paid for the cover I needed five months later I get an email stating their taking the money for the auto renewal.so I actually have 2 policies covering the same vehicles phoned and they tell me they won't charge for cancelling one of them as it was their mistake.The customer service chap says he'll send email to those with power to see if he can refund the 5 month period we have 2 policies, but he's not sure if anything can be done.
I can tell you this is also more than an hour of your life you'll never get back

The rescue arrived quickly, fix the problem it’s a flat tire having said that we are in the middle of of nowhere in Skye but he found us and sort the problem. Very knowledgeable about the area and he makes us feel relax his work etiquette so will done 👍 it’s worth 5 star

Second time yesterday I had to call these for a breakdown and just like the first time the operator on the end of the phone didn’t have a clue what he was on about and his tone of voice was very downgrading. Safe to say I won’t be renewing with you!!
