Paid in Full, No Service Provided, No Refund — Appalling Customer Care
I booked an estate car (Toyota Auris or similar) with Britannia Airport Cars for a transfer to Heathrow. Their own booking confirmation clearly listed Estate and 5 pieces of luggage.
On the day, they sent a white Kia Niro, a small hatchback, not an estate and an Uber driver, not one of their own. The driver refused to take the luggage, leaving us stranded at home without transport to the airport. We had to arrange a last-minute replacement taxi at our own expense.
When I raised this, Britannia claimed they had sent the correct vehicle and refused a refund, despite the written booking evidence. Their latest email doesn’t even include the name of the person replying only a generic “QC Department” signature and simply states they “will provide evidence” if I pursue a chargeback.
Their own Terms & Conditions (Clause “Operator Responsibility”) make the company fully responsible under TfL regulations for ensuring the journey is fulfilled, whether directly or via a self-employed driver. The journey was not fulfilled. The service paid for was not provided, and yet they have kept the full payment.
This is poor business practice and unacceptable customer service. No apology of substance, no accountability, and no refund for a service that never took place.
I’ve now filed a chargeback claim with my bank and reported the incident to Transport for London. Others should be aware before booking, if something goes wrong, Britannia appears unwilling to take responsibility despite what their own T&Cs say.
Avoid unless you’re willing to gamble on your airport transfer actually turning up as promised.
Totally unprofessional and alarming
Absolutely disgraceful. I have just endured FOUR DAYS of stress, lies, false promises, and zero accountability trying to get a simple refund for two cancelled bookings with Skybridge Cars / Britannia Cars – who, by the way, operate under two different names but the same shambolic setup. The whole operation is a mess.
I paid for two taxi bookings from Holiday Inn to Gatwick Airport – one for £68 and another for £74. BOTH were cancelled. I was assured I would be refunded. What followed was an exhausting, emotionally draining marathon of incompetence.
For FOUR DAYS I was stuck in an endless loop of copy-paste messages, broken English, and false timelines:
"Refund in two hours."
"Our manager will come."
"Stay with me."
"Don't worry."
"We didn’t receive it."
"Actually we did."
"Wait another few days."
“Contact your bank.”
Every message contradicted the last. I was never given a receipt, cancellation notice, or refund confirmation. They denied receiving the £74 despite bank proof, then said the missing money was “taxes” and “non-refundable.” Rubbish.
The service is chaotic, unprofessional, and frankly dangerous. I’ve reported this to Barclays Fraud Department.
If you're thinking of booking with them – DON’T. You’re risking your money and peace of mind.

I booked a taxi in April to be picked up at the airport. Had to call at the airport as never came, eventually 45 minutes late. Same happened today rang up 3 times I was told it had been dispatched. I was then told the traffic was bad, it never affected anyone else. I then had 3 silenced calls so called back and was told that he had been and because I didnt answer he left which was a total lie. In my opinion this is a complete waste of time and is a utter con as it doesn't get pre booked.
Its down to what driver is in the area at the time you have pre booked it for, so it's not pre booked for the time you specify or even close to in my case which results in you being late!
However the company dont care because they've had you conned sat there thinking a taxi is coming at said time, so at this point you're pretty desperate to get to your destination so you dont cancel, you're late! even though you have (pre booked, pre paid ) just absolute greed and a shoddy way to treat you're customers if you ask me!

Booked a taxi for 7pm. No sign at 10 past so rang to check. Was informed it hadn't been allocated and that one would be sent 'when one was available'. Not good enough. Won't use ever again.

Was travelling along M40, approaching slower moving traffic when one of this vehicles positioned alongside me preventing me from changing lanes on purpose. I had to slam on with my 2 year old son in the car. When I got alongside the vehicle the taxi driver was smiling/laughing at me fully aware of what he had just tried to cause. I thought this would be the end of it but further down the motorway he came speeding past in excess of 90mph (with passengers in his own vehicle) then did the exact same of sitting in lane 3 and applying his brakes each time I changed lanes to overtake slower traffic.
Dangerous “professional” driver that should have his license revoked for trying to cause a serious accident.

0 stars if I could. Absolutely disgusting firm. Lied too 3 times. Ordered a cab for 8.15. 8.40 (after being messed about for 20 mins) the had the audacity to see it's been and nobody was home, when the vab came, liars.... I was stood on my step. I'm now very late for work. Absolutely disgrace

Total Letdown
Booked a taxi for 7pm. When it didn't arrive, I phoned and was told that one would come when available. Phoned twice more with no luck. Had to cancel, including the pre-booked return journey. Had to drive to get to venue on time.
