The content is fun to work though and the range of courses is excellent. I had a bit of an issue with almost getting charged for a year subscription, but after a quick email it was resolved. I only ga... See more

Brilliant helps learners achieve much higher levels of ability in STEM, in less time, with more purpose and joy. Its content spans algebra, programming, and other quantitative problem solving across math and computer science. Brilliant’s lessons prioritize visual representations and active learning. Lessons build intuition with visual explanations, hands-on manipulation, and concrete computation. Brilliant doesn’t teach how to do something before asking questions—instead, it lets learners try to find a solution before learning the procedure. Every lesson has associated practice sets. For personalized practice, Brilliant predicts the optimal next problem to ask, so that learners are adequately prepared to answer future questions. This includes spaced repetition in weak areas and mixing practice problems from different concepts, so that learners must identify what approach to use to solve each problem, rather than just applying the same procedure to every problem. Brilliant’s courses are crafted by multiple IMO medalists and PhDs from MIT, Caltech, Stanford, and Harvard. Brilliant serves people who take pride in having a well-trained mind—students seeking to excel in STEM, professionals learning new skills or refreshing dormant ones, and lifelong learners staying sharp. Brilliant’s optimized learning experience is not only effective, interactive, and adaptive—it’s also fun. The gamification layer provides scaffolding for motivation and habit formation. This provides another tool to help learners stick with learning even in the absence of tutors or parents who help foster motivation. The content itself is also designed to feel fun—from the pedagogical design of the interactives and problem progression, to the types of sounds, feedback, and haptics as learners interact and progress through levels of progressively more difficult problem solving in a topic.

Excellent experience with Brilliant
Excellent experience with Brilliant; thanks to them, you can approach programming, mathematics, and science in general, in an engaging and constructive way. Following an issue caused by a mistake on my part, I had the opportunity to see how responsive and attentive their team is.
Dissapointing service, and even more enraging refund services.
I wish they were more clear on their websites. The "help" sections are unclear, and just when you think you can call them to rectify incorrect payment processing you're hit with "email us at -" its the worst method of any sort of refund. Not to mention the payment system in general is horrible. I signed up for the FREE trial, yk under that monthly basis etc. Didn't enjoy, wasn't my kind of topics (or lack thereof I guess), and so I most definitely cancelled my subscription (in the free trial phase). WEEKS or so later I'm seeing a charge for $184 AUD and its just so frustrating to see this kind of charge (WITHOUT any email confirmation or rather just notification), just silently enter my bank account. I've yet to hear anything back from the company and if I manage to get a response AND a refund from the company I am more than happy to change my views and I guess review on the company. Its just a shame that I have to reach out to THIRD PARTY sites just to refund unwilling payments because the site itself wont allow direct communication.

Great content, terrible refund policy
The app itself is fun and engaging, but beware of their billing practices. During the trial period they flood you with emails, making it easy to miss the premium billing notification. When I was charged and requested a refund within 10 days, well within the EU's 14-day legal withdrawal period, they refused. They even tried to argue the withdrawal period started at the trial start date, not the payment date. After three attempts to resolve this, I had to initiate a chargeback through my bank. Great product, terrible company.
Fun and engaging learning app
I have been using Brilliant as a premium user for some five years now, and I have found it very helpful. In general it has helped me learn and practice new skills, but also understand everyday technology better. I really like their courses on technologies. They are well explained, well crafted, and digestable. I also appreciate that the app and its design has been evolving with the years. The Koji mascot, the battery charges for streaks, the unified design language, and clear course structures make it pleasant and fun to learn and keep learning. The recently added dark mode is a very welcome upgrade, too. Another thing that impresses me is how easy it is to submit a ticket when I find a bug or an error. Equally impressive is how fast some tickets are answered with solutions. All in all, a great app at a fair price to learn and stay sharp.

Quick response/resolution
I think the team clearly wants to improve the client/user experience.
I also had the "unexpected charge" issue (after I deleted my account), and Brilliant support was quick to resolve it.
Overall, the quick response and common-sense resolution compensated for my initial frustration and turned it into a positive experience.
(P. S. I deleted my account not because I have a problem with the app/quality, but because I am lazy and decided at least not to throw money away on unused subscriptions.)

I had a really great experience
I had a really great experience using this tool. What made it even better is that the team listens to user feedback and makes the program more user-friendly. I’m happy to see developers bringing ideas to life and keeping features effective. This tool truly deserves more recognition and a higher rating.

Friendly staff.
For I am not so long busy with the app, I am giving only 4 stars.
They should be nice in future as they are in these days.
It's very refreshing.
Love the app for accessible learning
Love the app for accessible learning. Cancelling the renewal subscription because I cant afford it right now was not super straight forward but they replied within a day of me emailing them about it and sorted it out asap.

I really like the app and the interactive learning experience, I have been a long time brilliant user myself, and I sometimes use brilliant for educators in my class. Their approach towards ideas also helps me as an educator in simplifying or staggering some concepts with increasing difficulty. I even often enjoy doing some of the simpler courses to stay sharp and fast instead of just going on a mindless doom scroll.
The customer service is great and prompt in their replies and in taking action.
I wish they'd go back to adding many science and advanced physics courses as I truly enjoyed these, but the app has been skewed more towards Math, Data Science, and Computer science lately.
What a great experience!
My experience with this company was probably different than most. Someone hacked my Google account and used my linked payment method for some unauthorized purchases. Brilliant.org charged me $141 for a membership that I did not order. There were three other unauthorized purchases in large amounts made to other places as well. Brilliant.org responded to my email about this promptly and actually resolved the issue that I had within 24 hours. They refunded my PayPal account. The full account without question. I homeschool my son and will be looking to use them in the very near future and hope to add to my five star review. Great company to deal with!
Helpful tool and customer support
It requires that you being the adult assist your child in learning the concepts before a full on tutorial from the app be used as an independent learning tool. At least this was the case with my son the few tries he had on the program. Otherwise very helpful customer service and speedy response!
I love this software
I love this software. It is so much fun! I use it with my students now and they love the days they get to solve Brilliant puzzles.
DON’T TOUCH THEM WITH A BARGEPOLE!!!
DON’T TOUCH THEM WITH A BARGEPOLE!!!
They charge far too much for what they give you access to, then go rather quiet around renewal time - taking payment without any notice. To take the biscuit, when you then cancel the said subscription ( within minutes of the PayPal notification ), they remove the refund link from your account and when you go searching for it, you’re presented with a policy page stating: WE ALMOST NEVER REFUND!!! Not the type of company I want anything to do with.🤔
