Still haven’t received my order
Still haven’t received my order, chased them up a couple of times and haven’t had any response. This isn’t the first time this has happened, thought I’d give them another chance as I like some Brasher clothes but can’t be bothered trying to buy from them again.
Brasher Country Classic Walking Shoes: Soles delaminated.
This complaint was emailed to: Brasher customercare on 03/08/23... (to date 23/08/23) they haven't even had the courtesy to acknowledge, let alone respond!
TO WHOEVER IT MAY CONCERN.
Please find attached photographs of a pair of Brasher Country Classic Walking Shoes which i purchased online from Ultimate Outdoors (part of the Blacks Group), on 4th April 2019 for £79.20. (Paid by Lloyds Bank credit card).
The shoes were not put into use until last winter (2022), and were bought principally for dog walking, and leisure use, mainly on paved roads and pathways. As can be seen from the attached photos the shoes have certainly not been subjected to any harsh use, ill treatment, or abuse….only for the purpose for which they were intended.
After a few months use, and much to my surprise and dismay i noticed that the soles on both shoes had delaminated, which i frankly find extraordinary, considering the pedigree and reputation for quality and longevity attached to the Brasher brand.
I have since taken the shoes to a traditional local cobbler, who after examining the items was not prepared to attempt any repair, saying that the construction is not a stitched (welted) sole but is merely glued using a sub standard adhesive, and the stitching is only for effect...and suggested contacting the supplier.
Could you now please advise whether you consider that this purchase has provided me with fair use or indeed value for the money spent with you, and would hope that you can provide a resolution to this case of poor quality goods, which have proved totally unfit for the purpose for which they are intended.
I now look forward to receiving your response.
Best Regards
My advice to anyone considering buying this item..is DON'T!...they are of very poor quality, and are unfit for purpose.

Shockingly poor quality
Bought a pair of Brashers Country Shoes from Peter Storm.
Very comfortable, till the stitching started to come apart. Had them mended by a local shoemaker twice. After ten months they were ready for the bin. Very little wear on the sole, falling apart at the seams and not waterproof. SHOCKINGLY POOR QUALITY
BRASHER FOOTWARE NEVER EVER AGAIN
i ppurchased a pair of brasher shoes in may '23 intending to use travelling in mexico - june left sole started to detach - self repaired
aug '23 right sole detaching - finding a DIY hardware shop open in malaga in sat afternoon forget it
£120.00 for shoes that fall apart.
i used to be proud to wear brasher footwear NEVER EVER AGAIN
I have owned several pairs of Brasher…
I have owned several pairs of Brasher walking shoes and boots over the years the current made in China version are not the same quality as the previously Portugese made version . The leather uppers do not have the same level of support, the soles do come adrift more easily and the insides seem to wear more rapidly. They also no longer seem to do the 1/2 sizes The previous incarnation, I was happy to wear walking , working and was even happy to wear them out in the evening. The current ones I only wear at work and I think I would be able to get an equivalent work shoe/boot for 1/3 - 1/2 the price . I will not be buying another pair unless the quality improves.
No support for an obvious product defect!
I have recently contacted Brasher Customer Services regarding a pair of the Men's Country Master Walking Boots that I purchased from Ultimate Outdoors during the covid lockdown period.
The boots are in very good condition with plenty of life left in them but the SOLES ARE NOW SEPARATING!
I have searched the internet and notice from Trustpilot Reviews that a number of people have complained about exactly the same fault with a pair of Brasher Walking Boots and that the 'Brasher Online Review Team' have replied to many reviews offering to help resolve their issues.
Well they are not interested in resolving mine. I have contacted the Brasher Customer Care Team via email and supplied a number of photographs showing the condition of the boots, the defect, proof of purchase and the order details. Their reply simply states that they are outside of the warranty period.
This is obviously a product defect. It's the last time I buy Brasher.
Waterproof boots? No!
I have previously bought leather Brasher walking boots which were great. However, I purchased Brasher women’s Jura boots in April 2023. They are not fit for purpose. They are described as waterproof boots but they are not at all. They leak very badly. This is very poor for what is an expensive boot.
Bought a pair of country classics a few…
Bought a pair of country classics a few years back. Great shoes but the soles and heels wore out too quick. I then bought a pair of country roamers since they had Vibram soles but the uppers leaked from the get go. Returned them and swapped for another pair of country classics, but the soles seperated after 3 mths. Got a full refund from Go Outdoors but won't be buying Brasher again.
Do not consider buying Brasher Boots
I do wish I had read reviews for Brasher boots before buying an expensive pair based on their reputation.
I bought them in April 2022 and by the end of January 2023, the heels were worn down into the heel material, meaning the boots actually hurt when I walk for a while in them. The soles have plenty of tread left and the boots were comfortable originally, which makes them worth 1 star (can't give zero anyway!) but I have owned many pairs of boots over the years and never, ever had them wear out in about 9 months. I can only assume they are made with cheap, soft materials underfoot which makes them an utter waste of money
Poor quality. Very disappointed
I agree with many of the reviews. Bought a pair of Brashers a couple of years ago. Hardly worn in and the sole on both boots started perishing and seperating from the upper. Also metal eye snapped off. Terrible quality. Very disappointing given what I thought was their good reputation.
Very poor response from Brasher Customer Care Team . . .
I bought a pair of Brasher Country Roamer walking shoes. The shoes are fine. I wrote to their Customer Care team to ask how to care for the shoes. They replied, “I am so sorry to inform that I am not in a position to advise you about shoe care.” I wrote a second time saying that surely they could tell me how to look after their product. They replied, “ I am so sorry that I was not able to provide more information. Could you please check on the Brasher website where you can get more details on the item care and other information.” I wrote a 3rd time to say that there is no information on their website about how to care for their shoes. They replied, “I apologise, we do not have this type of information.” I am at a loss. This is the only company I have ever come across who cannot tell their customers how to care for the products that they manufacture. Unbelievable . . .
Don't waste your money
I bought a pair of Brashers from Blacks online during lockdown, and about 9 months later I finally got to wear them! Within 3 months, 8 of the metal lace hooks on each boot had 'fallen' off/come unstuck and I could no longer do them up. I contacted Blacks 1 WEEK outside of the years warranty, and their only response was that I needed to go to a Blacks or 'affiliate' store and show them to someone there. I explained it was at least a 4 hour round trip for me but they wouldn't help any further. They wouldn't accept photos or anything either, so I contacted Brasher themselves, who were even less interested; the customer services just told me that they would also be annoyed too if they were in my position (!) which while heartening, wasn't helpful in the least.
AVOID! Pretty expensive boots which definitely will not last.
I have previously owned several pairs…
I have previously owned several pairs of Brasher boots and shoes but the quality is far from what it used to be. Internal heals were completely different on each shoe. Asked to return for a refund from Blacks but got no response.
Brasher Country Walk Boots
I run a carp fishery in France and am outside in all kind of conditions all year round. I have tried many different brands/types of boots over the years. My preferred choice is the Brasher Mens Country boot. In the last 3 years I have purchased 2 pairs. The second pair will probably expire soon so I'm looking for my third. The pair i have on at present are 18 months old and still waterproof and comfortable but showing signs of the leather cracking so time to prepare for the winter in advance. THE best boots I have ever owned. I hope now that Brasher has changed hands that the new owners continue this product
So glad I read these reviews as I was…
So glad I read these reviews as I was just about to purchase a pair of mens walking boots from Brasher !
Not now though and not in a million years. Thanks to all those who bothered to leave reviews as a clear warning to other prospective buyers
Sole detached .i have a pair of brasher walking boots
I have a pair of brasher walking boots, just 1 year old, bought as present, so.i do not have the receipt. The sole on one of the boots has detached in the middle section, it is just holding on at the toe and heel. The cobbler says he cannot fix it as his glue is simply absorbed by the material used in the upper sole. I have tried in vain to get any help from customer services, who only seem to want to know about problems with orders. I am extremely disappointed, as these boots were expensive and I had spent time wearing them in for a holiday in 4 weeks time.
Potentially Dangerous False Claims
I wish I had looked for reviews before purchasing Brasher ‘waterproof’ boots.
My first walk in damp conditions, not rain or puddles, resulted in soaked socks and feet.
I did nothing more than walk through wet ferns!
I shall be making a report to trading standards.
This is potentially dangerous as any skin getting wet can cause the body to cool.
I was on a Welsh mountain a good 4 hours from base.
Luckily it stayed dry and warm.
Of course, that didn’t help my sodden feet.
False claims Brasher, and potentially dangerous ones at that!
Well I am looking to buy a good walking shoe and looked at Brasher but following these reviews, more importantly, the appalling customer service responses of no help at all. I will look elsewhere
Well I am looking to buy
Are we talking the same boots?
Like some people on here I don’t understand some of the reviews. Unless only people with an issue leave one! I own one pair of brasher walking boots. These have seen me (so far) along the Cleveland way (109 miles) the Cotswold way (103 miles). Up snowdon, and some way down the Essex way. This includes being out in Storm Arwen, through thick and slippy mud during the Autumn months and they have never let me down. They are comfy, warm, have good grip (vibram soles). And I have just bought 2 more pairs of brashers to use when not hiking. A great pair of boots that will be doing another 135 mile hike with me this year as well
Poor quality, eyelets popped
I also wish I had read the reviews first. Two eyelets have popped on my boots and they are now unwearable. Bought Brasher because my previous pair lasted 12 years. Very disappointed.
