Family business, huge Hedge End Store, Great Selection, Helpful Staff

The store at Hedge End is massive it has a large array of different styles and budgets and an excellent clearance section when we went. I was impressed that we were not bothered by anyone with a hard sell. We were spoken to and acknowledged, when we need help it was there.
Looking for an electric recliner we settled on Himolla, they have a good range and we found the perfect one. Grant took us through all our options, never rushing or pushing, to make sure to had the right model with the right options. We left with an idea of the price going home to think about it and do a bit more research, allowing me to contact Himolla who answered my query in 24 hours. The price we were offered was very competitive and we were more than happy to place and order. This is a family business with family value, we will be more than happy to purchase from them in the future

A very disappointing experience for a £6,500 order

I do not usually leave negative reviews, but on this occasion I feel it is warranted.

We spent just under £6,500 on furniture, and unfortunately every item delivered had some form of issue. What should have been an exciting purchase turned into a drawn-out and frustrating experience that took four months to resolve.

During that time, multiple visits were required to address faults, and a significant amount of time was spent chasing updates and responses. Communication was inconsistent, and promised follow-up correspondence did not materialise unless pursued.

At one point, an appointment to complete what should have been a very minor task — fitting two screws — took almost an entire day, which felt wholly disproportionate.

I formally escalated my complaint and specifically requested contact from a director. Despite this, my concerns were repeatedly redirected back to store management, and I did not receive direct engagement at a senior level. This was particularly disappointing.

While the issues were eventually resolved, this was only after persistent effort on my part. A goodwill gesture was offered, but only increased following escalation.

Overall, the experience fell well below what I would expect for a purchase of this value, both in terms of product quality and customer service.

It is not an experience I would wish to repeat, nor one I would recommend to others.

Bradbeers Hedge End

Staff at hedge end are nice and I'm
hoping their customer service team can help improve my experience with collins and hayes sofa we bought which is completely unuseable and so saggy.

Having spoken to the manager today I feel like there is hope so will update further.

Excellent customer service

I visited Bradbeers furniture store at Hedge End looking for a new settee and a snuggler/arm chair. I was lucky to be helped by Sue Davenport and this review relates to her customer service. Sue was pleasure to deal with, not only was she polite and helpful, but she was very knowledgeable about the products I was looking for. If there was any uncertainty, rather than bypass this, she did all she could to find the answer/explanation. Sue is mindful to do all she can for her customers and I hope her team and managers acknowledge her value. I will definitely return when ready to purchase next piece of furniture. Thank you very much Sue for the time and help you gave me.

Delivery was due 8th Dec never came…

Delivery was due 8th Dec never came then told 15th again never came. I was then told maybe 22nd again never came. They were awful of updating us we had to keep chasing them. I was promised this delivery would be before Christmas when I ordered sofa in October. I had to insist on them giving me something to sit on as I had people coming. They eventually agreed the would lend me a sofa & would let me keep it until mine could be delivered. I finally received my sofa on 5th January. New sofa came had a mark on it, they will get someone to clean it. All in all I wouldn’t use this company again to much messing around and excuses. They gave me £100 for the inconvenience which after a month delay wasn’t very good. I do like my sofa though.

Unfortunately the supplier of your sofa wasn’t able to get it to us in time for a Christmas delivery, which is entirely out of our hands. When orders are placed with us we give expected delivery times in the best of faith, but on occasions delays do occur. Our office team provided regular updates on the progress, and as soon as we learned that you wouldn’t receive your order in time for Christmas we offered a loan sofa. We did everything we could to make your sofa the first one delivered after Christmas and gave compensation even though the delay was out of our control. We do apologise that the footstool you received has a mark on it, and our in-house service department is working hard to arrange for this to be sorted. It’s great to hear that despite the situation you are happy with your new sofa.

Visited the Salisbury store today 8th…

Visited the Salisbury store today 8th December 2025 and planned on lunch in the restaurant. What a dreadful experience. I asked for our table to be cleared after previous occupants had left. It took me asking twice and the plates were cleared but the table top not cleaned. I ended up doing it myself, clearing crumbs and wiping the table with a spare serviettleft by the previous occupant. Ordered soup which was suppose to be carrot and coriander with a roll. Waitress brought no spoon or serviett or knife but said she would get them. Never did so again it was a do it yourself event. The roll was nice HOWEVER the soup had no taste so after a couple of spoons left it and left the restaurant. The attitude of the staff made me decide against saying anything. DREADFUL go elsewhere. I was later contacted by the store manager who advised that the restaurant manager would investigate my complain and then contact me in a few days! 8 Days on no further word, I think that speaks volumes about there commitment to customers!!

Absolutely no interest in customer care and satisfaction.

I visited Bradbeers in Hedge End some months ago to buy a mattress. Eventually and after some deliberation I opted for a fairly high end mattress, and not cheap by any standards , with the sales assistant assuring me that being the only person sleeping on it, and not weighing much, the mattress would offer total support - also promised on the label of the mattress.
Unfortunately, after 18 months a dip had developed in the centre of the mattress due to compression of materials , causing me consistent back pain. After speaking with an assistant at Bradbeers, two technicians were sent out- one working for Bradbeers and one independent, to inspect it . It was agreed that the mattress had sagged in the sleeping area by 3.2cm, and the technician explained to me that the edges of the mattress were extra upholstered to accommodate being sat on , but the centre wasn't, hence the sagging.
I have since had to purchase another mattress as the discomfort caused from the sagging of the first one was becoming unbearable. The mattress was guaranteed for 10 years , but sadly Bradbeers have done absolutely nothing to help towards compensating for the money lost, and sadly, it seems, have only their own financial interests at heart with zero concern for customer care.
I will never use this company again.

Excellent service

A date and time convenient to us was arranged for the room to be measured. The estimate was done and we were sent a quote. We phoned up and ordered. When the carpet was in we were contacted to arrange a fitting date and time. The fitters could not have been more helpful and had to move all the furniture. They have made a lovely job of all that they did.
This whole experience has been an absolute pleasure and I would not hesitate to recommend Bradbears carpet department.

Outstanding in Romsey! Empathy I'd not experienced before buying.

Still waiting

We visited the furniture store near Romsey, back in August we paid a deposit on two chairs and a coffee table. We were told six to eight weeks. We are now at nearly 11 weeks and after many phone calls we have been told they have been made but they are still in Spain. It will be another two or three weeks. Why mislead customers, we would have bought something else if we knew it would take this long. It is annoying and doesn't do Bradbeers reputation any good. Just be more careful about giving people misleading information. And we have had to phone every time to get any information....

Very poor selling policy

I went to Bradbeers Furniture Store in Hedge End Southampton to look at some chairs. On the back of amost all the chairs and settees there was a sign saying "10% off when you purchase our warranty"
I asked the question "why do I need a warranty when all of the warranty items are covered under home contents as are most peoples are?
The salesman waffled a lot and said it was their policy to do this.
In all of these types of retail shops, warranties are offered and salesmen are encouraged to sell them to customers as this is where they make their BIG money.
So basically, Bradbeers are blackmailing customers into buying a warantee in order to get a 10% discount
I left the showroom and spent 2k in another store.
My advise, do not use this store

More competitive than expected.

I have wrongly always felt Bradbeers may have been a bit out of our league but was pleasantly surprised to find them competitive & with a good selection of furniture priced to meet most levels of affordability.

The Sales guy (David) was very professional & helpful plus delivery & set up was a fair price compared to Furniture Village who we had visited earlier which would have been 120% more expensive.

Delivery Guys were spot on too, on time,competent, clean & tidy.

Can't fault our experience & thank you Bradbeers for sticking with decent large retail units like Hedge End where you can see & try the furniture & with old school customer service.

I just wanted to leave a big thank you to the lovely lady named Daisy who works in the lingerie department at the Salisbury branch.

I’d been trying on bras and was just about ready to give up, as I couldn’t find anything that fit comfortably. Then Daisy kindly offered to help. She took one look at me, asked what size I was currently wearing, and came back with a bra for me to try. The first one wasn’t quite right, but she quickly returned with another, and it fit me perfectly.

She was able to judge everything by eye, which I found amazing! Thanks to her help, I ended up purchasing a few new sets and left feeling happy with my visit.

Thank you so much, Daisy—you were brilliant!
