AVAILABILITY SHOWN AFTER THEY TAKE YOUR MONEY - and guess what. Surprise surpsise "choose a convenient location" comes up with a 60 mile round trip to a shop with no availability on a day I need it.
Wish I'd read on here before paying, as looks like I'm going to get fobbed off with "Oh, you'll need to contact Boots"
Just want my refund so I can find someone who can acutally give me what I need. Not deal with some broker giving me nothing but a headache
Sad there is no minus starts
Sad there is no minus starts. Useless crap service. Customer service does not answer phones, nor emails. First test came back inconclusive due to QR code not working. Second test should be for free, never received a discount code, ordered one. Again no bar code and QR code not working. They don't answer the phone. Filed a complaint but no reply. I was stupid enough to choose a well known company. DON't. The icing of the top of the cake: when we opened the test kit, a piece of food wrapping fell out, somebody surely had a snack while packaging...Disgusting rip off, useless service. Shame on you BOOTS

I decided to spend a bit more to use a company I know and what a poor decision that turned out to be! As with most other reviewers I wasted several hours trying to activate the day 2 test. I tried computer, tablet, phone along with various browsers to no avail. It was only through guidance on this site that I finally managed and then I was told my clearly negative test was inconclusive. As a result I’m not able to go to the theatre tonight. No voucher code was provided or an option to rebook the day 2 test due to the change in law which does not apply to me. No response to my contact.
DO NOT BUY IF YOU VALUE YOUR SANITY
I too found using this test a frustrating and stressful experience. Doing the test itself was a doddle but uploading the results was a nightmare and took me over 3 hrs. Instructions are woefully inadequate. I did call Boots on 0345 121 2837, and got a very helpful and patient lady but the site wouldn't accept my password, and every time I changed this (5 times) it wouldn't accept new one. Eventually she had to get permission to change my e-mail address, and after some further struggles this worked. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS TEST UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES
Poor - very difficult and not clear at all.
Just on with this now and what a nightmare it is. Stumbled upon this site, luckily and followed Karen's advice below - please scroll down- and it has worked! Thank you Karen. But what a faff on - picked Boots because of its reputation but it really needs to sort this out asap. Not a good experience - avoid.

Useless technology doesn't work and no support available. Spent an hour trying to activate and upload results with no luck. 'Computer says no' and that's that. The government can call me if they want my results.
Choose another company!
I wish I had found these reviews before I chose the "trusted" brand of Boots. I thought it was my incompetence but I see others have had the same frustrations with uploading the results. The test is simple enough but it is not clear how to upload the results and, more to the point, whether you have done it properly. My first test was clearly negative but the results came back as "inconclusive". I bought another test (another £20!) but no voucher to be seen. No one to ask for help. Have just submitted my second test results (also clearly negative) so regardless of what comes back, I will just carry on as normal. I suggest you find a company that gets good reviews so that you avoid this boring and frustrating experience. Black mark for Boots from me.
Rubbish system that fails to deliver…
Rubbish system that fails to deliver what should be a simple service
DO NOT USE THIS 'SERVICE
Wish I had read the reviews before opting to use Boots. I ordered my test before I left UK & when I was completing my PLF to return I had not received an email from Boots with the ref no needed to put on PLF. Spent an hour ringing Boots before I got an answer, no apology for lack of email but at least they provided the ref I required. So much for a stress free holiday!! The information for taking the 2 day lateral flow test was non existent & I was unable to access the FAQS through bar code provided. After an hour finally had to use my daughter's latest model Huawei phone to be able to upload barcode & photo of test. Can't believe a supposedly reputable company like Boots have such a rubbish service! Would recommend only people with an enormous amount of time on their hands use this service.
Getting the LFT QR on Recova site to work
Thanks to earlier advice I worked out you need to use your phone camera (to bring up the alphanumeric 26 digit contained in) the QR code on the lateral flow test cassette. Don’t copy and paste this code into the Recova website- you have to type it in yourself - twice. Then the activation button should turn blue, allowing you to press it and continue the process.
I will give a zero
I will give a zero. Camera not working. Still seating here with test taken and due yesterday. No one to call, no help. Shame on you Boots for this disgraceful upload test. I am mortified as could be arrested for nit meeting government requirement.

The whole process was a farce from start to finish. Ordered 3 kits for family. Two arrived, one didn't. First test taken and QR code would not upload. After about 16 attempts managed to submit code manually. Test 2 kept defaulting to test one subject. Third test arrived a week later and then gave no way of registering results. No one to speak to, no help and website shocking lack of information. Will NEVER go down this route again. Caused so much anxiety for something that is a government requirement.
This kit is not fit for purpose
This kit is not fit for purpose. When trying to register, I was asked to enter the bar code on the test cassette, There is no bar code, Nor would the QR code register. As a result it has not been possible to register the (negative) test result.

I have spent about 2 hours trying to figure out where my bar code is for this test. The instructional video does not load. I paid more for the Boots test thinking it would be reliable but it’s just rubbish as I can’t load the results
DAY 2 LATERAL FLOW COVID 19 POST TRAVEL SELF TESTING…
I have been trying to figure how to scan the QR code and how to upload the results on the ReCova-19 portal but never succeeded.I have no idea how to go about
If I could give it a zero I would
If I could give it a zero I would. A total scandal that this is on the market at all. Appalling instructions, faulty software algorithms and no support.
Thanks to Brian Connor
Thanks to Brian Connor, I have finally managed to upload my test. When I scanned the QR code on the Lateral Flow test plastic thing, I got a long code (about 26 digits) which I entered into the box, then re-entered again manually in the second box. When I pressed Continue, it brought all my details up and I was able to continue to upload the photo of the test. Absolute rubbish really. No real instructions on the specifics of how to upload on the scrappy piece of paper in the box. No contact details to ask for help. A very frustrating couple of hours spent on this.
You couldnt make it up.
You couldnt make it up could you.
I tried all day yesterday to upload my 2 day test, and gave up in the end, Today had an email of them to say my test was inconclusive !!!!!!! and to buy another test or self isolate. I need wine !!!!
I should have read the reviews - AVOID
Absolutely awful. I paid a bit more for Boots, assuming they would be reliable, and because of the recent controversy regarding Randox. The QR code on my kit doesn't work when I go to register it. I follow the instructions of the person on the helpline and it still doesn't work. The person says they will speak to a senior adviser - then the line hang ups. 35 minutes, most of which was on hold, and it hangs up! Issue still not resolved. Absolutely appalling.
Goddamn awful
As so many others have stated this portal is a nightmare to use. We would never have been able to complete the registration if had not been for the information gleaned from other reviews. Boots helpline remained unanswered for 40 minutes. It seems Boots like so many other Corporations these days are only interested in taking your money with zero help afterwards. We have no confidence that that we will get our negative test certificates. They should hang their heads in shame.
