I love Booths it's the only supermarket…
I love Booths it's the only supermarket in Britain that manages to store their food correctly and provide good customer service. The new lunch menu is an added bonus as well. If I can afford to shop at Booths for the rest of my life I will.
Has a great range
Has a great range from cheese, delicious, meat and a fish counter. Only supermarket in Lancaster that offers such quality. The staff are very friendly. And there's a curry counter. What more do you want?
Ordere 2 bags of groceries on to good…
Ordere 2 bags of groceries on to good to go very dissatisfied with the contents 1 was bakery just full of processed bread 2nd bag was supposed to be chilled 3 bags of carrots a salad bowl mini corvette and very small box of raspberry’s not worth 5:00 I won’t get anything else from booths and very reluctant to make another purchase as I havnt got money to throw away.
Not worth the 1 star review!! Avoid this place!!
Very disappointing breakfast today at the Cafe in Penwortham, Preston….. stood for 10min at the till to place my order, only to be advised they had ‘stopped serving breakfast’ … and this is due to them running out of hash browns! My daughter wanted smashed avo but was told they had also run out of this too. News flash….. you are situated within a FOOD SHOP!!! If you’re running out of stock either order more or nip into the main shop and buy extra!!
I settled for a fried egg, sausage and bacon, so basically I could order breakfast with individual items (minus the hash brown) only to be charged more!!!
This is my third time here for breakfast and my last!
Oh, I also had to return 3 knives which were dirty for clean knives!!
Lady who served us, Jayne, very abrupt with poor customer service skills.
Overall a Very poor dining experience!!!
I used to love it when we had a Booths…
I used to love it when we had a Booths in Halebarns and you found buy these lovely quality vegan lentil and sweet potato mash meals, bean salads and things out of the ordinary. It has been replaced with a tacky replacement store. My brother in law and sister visited me and are sad that it's gone. They ended up going into Knutsford as they like it so much. All residents of Halebarns were devastated when we lost Booths and we t was one of the main reasons why I wanted to stay in Halebarns. When I retire I will live somewhere where they have a Booths.
I never eat ready meals
I never eat ready meals, but freshly out of hospital and unable to cook my daughter brought 5 ready meals from booths. What a pleasant surprise, just had king prawn risotto absolutely delicious good portion size full of prawns and nutritious spinach and peas , this excelled any ready meals I’ve ever eaten .
Booths Knutsford
Booths Knutsford - love this store especially at Christmas - beautifully decorated entrance - we also love the hardback book for food ordering and recipes. Other supermarkets take note! We also enjoy the seasonal menu at their cafe. My husband and I travel from Whitchurch which is over an hour's journey to collect our food order but for us it is so worth it!
Friendly and very knowledgeable staff…
Friendly and very knowledgeable staff on the cheese counter in the Booth’s Windermere store yesterday evening. Thank you Janice and Carmen!
At the cheese counter
At the cheese counter, servers are STILL using bare hands ungloved to serve food. I have written feedback before and it's still happening. Booths do bettee! There's too many infections going around. Glove use is non-negotiable.
Beware you maybe charged for a non existent item.
Poor. An item was not given to me when I collected the order, then at the till, when the amount wasn't the same, a supervisor scanned an item that was already scanned!! Ridiculous! After paying I checked the receipt and found I'd paid for six items yet only had five! On top of this I missed out on Member Prices and the cashier forgot to scan my card, despite me giving it to her before hand! The supervisor said "it's a couple of pounds less but it's Christmas.
I went to customer services to say an item has been missed and the supervisor had scanned a random item so the amount was the same. They called the supervisor over who said, again, not to worry as the cost is less. I explained an item was missing from the order and showed her the pick sheet and I said I still needed that item and then she can refund the erroneous item she'd scanned and scanned the missing item so I can pay the difference.
The supervisor then went to the collection area and brought back the item.
How a company can just scan an item so the price is close to the order is beyond me.
Forget raising this as a complaint with their useless customer service team as all they have said is "we will raise this with the store manager to improve customer service. Forget the more expense I've paid!!
I'll think twice about ordering from Booths and collect at Ilkley store.
Was terrible source and think nothing…
Was terrible source and think nothing like like expected
Bad Christmas
I have used Booths for a number of years for Christmas food, but this year they made a complete pig’s ear of it.
Items were missing from the order, meaning very last minute Tesco shop to try and find suitable replacements. That’s a let down, but not exactly the end of the world. But I’m also cheesed off that the three bird roast they supplied was poor quality and burst open during cooking spewing all the stuffing out.
Overall just a rubbish experience this year. I’ll be going with M&S next time.
Very disappointed with Booths
Very disappointed with Booths. Shopped at Booths Penrith on Tuesday, before Christmas. The Raspberries were tasteless, the brussels were scabby, the pork pie crust was far too thick and finally the large Fresh Custard Pie was tasteless too. I have never been disappoined with Boots Fresh food before. Sit up Booths. What is going wrong here?
Friendly, helpful staff but products below previous standards!
Booths staff Lancaster friendly and welcoming as always. Had all the extra items for my Christmas shop and the staff cheerful and helpful when collecting my order - I had ordered an Adlington duck way back in October as previously very good but when taking it out of the box to put in the fridge was as solid as a brick absolutely frozen through. Contacted the order line via Email and very short apology received despite paying for a fresh expensive duck as in catalogue description. Could have got a frozen one weeks earlier. A very disappointed customer and hope no one is ill from their poultry!
Insulting behaviour at checkout.
At checkout the cashier was serving a lady who, by the chatty conversation she was having, knew the customer. On clearing the till area, it was our turn to be served. Our few products began to be scanned.
However the cashier, instead of engaging with or acknowledging my wife and I, began a chat with the cashier to her right asking her about her sheep and completely ignoring us. Even a small greeting, a smile or some eye contact might have made the difference but we were blanked. This is inexcusable behaviour. It wasn't busy in store.
Cafe only
Don't go here if you want reasonably quick service. It's terrible. Always understaffed.
Unfair and Unexpected parking charge
Unfair and Unexpected parking charge. We own a hi-top van which is too tall for the main car park so parked at the back of the (Clitheroe) store in an area labelled "Staff and Deliveries". I checked the available signage but no where did it say the public could not park in this area. I'm also a Blue Badge holder so I put my Blue Badge on display in the vehicle. Spent 45 mins in store. Few days later a Parking Charge Notice arrived. Paid the £50 as we were about to go away for a few days and couldn't deal with appealing to the rogue company. I have submitted a complaint to Booths, asking for tokens to the value of £50 to be issued as reimbursement. I doubt these will turn up. If tokens do not arrive, Booths have lost another customer due to Parking Eye. It would seem Parking Eye are costing them a few customers... I hope for Booths sake they can get out of this contract because it is doing their company name no good at all!
Excellent service
On Saturday 29th November, I went with my family for afternoon tea at Booths. Pre ordered. We were absolutely incompetent - it took us ages to order sandwiches and then ages to order cakes. The waitress dealing with us was Jade. She was so patient and attentive. Her whole demeanour suggested that she had the whole afternoon to deal with just us. Thank you for excellent service.
Car park spaces are small
Car park spaces are small, not even big enough for a mini.
Shopped at the Ulverston branch today…
Shopped at the Ulverston branch today and was impressed with the store as usual. The Hot Counter is excellent and the Guy on the checkout was chatty.
Pleased with my purchases too.
