Going on three weeks
Going on three weeks, they have not been able to give me service. They're customer service is not existent, they give the same answer any time you call mainly designed to get you off the phone .
Excelltn!
Like others on here, I don't get the negative reviews. I LOVE this service. I pay 25.00/mo for unlimited talk/text/data....which service is cheaper than that? Also I'll say this.....I bought a new phone from BOOST (Samsung A23 5G for 198.00) and the transfer of my phone number and data from my previous phone was easy and seamless. Not sure what the negative reviewers are seeing that I surely don't! You can't beat this plan.
Forget about porting or returning a phone inside the listed window
Too bad there are not zero stars.
Like many others, I was curious about the new company and was intrigued by the new iPhone deal they offered. I called ahead and asked if I could sign up with a new number and then transfer my number over later on if the service met my needs. Was told “sure no problem, we do it all the time.” it’s pretty common industry practice anyway.
9/21/23 pre ordered my iPhone 15 pro with a new number
9/22 was launch date and I figured there would be a back order, no big deal
App showed shipping 9/22 but then on 10/6 I finally got an email saying shipping delays. Ok, no problem
10/19 phone shipped. A month late, but new iPhone launch…it happens. I spent over 10 years in the biz; I get it.
10/20 phone arrived and I activated with that new (temp) number. It was a Friday so I tested over the weekend.
10/23 I call in to port my number over from magenta and replace my temp number. Talk to multiple people who now say that’s not possible but I can add a second line if I want. I don’t want. I ask to return the phone and cancel so they open a return request ticket. Mind you, their website says financed phones you have 10 days from the ship date which was 10/19
10/24 I wake up to an email denying my return, staying in outside the window. Unless my math is wrong 23-19 is not greater than 10. I call back, again try to port and they say impossible (mind you they never even asked the number I want to port). So I put in another return request ticket with notes.
10/25 I wake up to a second email denying the return, again stating I’m outside the window.
So here I am…got the phone Friday, it’s wed. Can’t port over the number I’ve had for years. Can’t return my $1100 phone. I called one more time to try and escalate and supposedly a supervisor will get with me within 24h
BBB is my next contact. If Boost is saying I’m outside the window because the phone was on back order then they’re going to have a lot of upset people like me.
I will say the support folks are nice and mostly US but the company has a lot of things to fix. The cell service was adequate too but now I just don’t trust them.
Boost Infinite = Frustration Galore!
I wanted to share my recent escapade with Boost Infinite's services. Spoiler alert: It wasn't all sunshine and rainbows. I ordered two brand-new iPhones with the intention of transferring my old number. Seems pretty straightforward, right? Well, that's what I thought.
Their website boldly claimed that transferring your number should take anywhere from 4 to 24 hours. Sounded great, but reality had other plans.
The first transfer turned into a bit of a marathon. It took way longer than I expected, and even after multiple calls to customer service, the whole ordeal wasn't wrapped up within the promised time frame. This meant I was without service for a chunk of time, which, let's be real, was far from convenient.
Now, let's fast forward to the second transfer, which has turned into a full-blown saga. It's been five long days, and one of the phones is still stranded without service. I've been in touch with customer support daily, and each time they assure me of callbacks and updates, which, sadly, are still MIA.
To make things even more interesting, I tried to request some info to transfer my number to another carrier, but they hit me with a "Sorry, we can't do that" bombshell. So here I am, feeling stuck and not seeing a light at the end of this service tunnel.
In a nutshell, my Boost Infinite experience wasn't exactly what I'd hoped for. Service interruptions, delayed transfers, and radio silence have left me rather frustrated. I signed up with high hopes for a smooth and reliable experience, but it seems reality had other plans.
BEWARE BEWARE!!!!!
BEWARE BEWARE!!!!!! They’re cheap for a reason - STAY AWAY
I got a new phone, but they can’t activate it. I’m on my 3rd day and counting, no ETA in sight.
That’s not the issue, the issue is they’re KNOWINGLY selling phones that can’t be activated (google it, you’ll see what I mean).
They said i have 2 options: wait, or leave. I’ve seen reviews of people waiting over a week to activate a phone they paid for?
Great service! You really do get what you pay for, it never fails
Boost Infinite TERRIBLE
Last Friday the 13th of Oct. I called boost infinite and joined their service for the iPhone promotion.
I ordered an apple 15 promax phone with 1tb memory in natural titanium. Today oct. 18th I received the wrong phone, they sent iPhone 15 plus 512gb in black. Received around 11:45 immediately called boost infinite and advised them of the issue. I was advised their is no procedure for an exchange, and a return would take 48 hours for a label RMA AND a 3 to 4 week wait for a refund. EXCHANGE EVEN AT THE ERROR OF BOOST INFINITE IS IMPOSSIBLE. My opinion is that rule is wrong and it adds the burden of waiting another month for a new phone. Good thing I waited to receive the phone before Porting my #.
I will be posting this review on Google. Don't want anybody else going through this issue.
NOT MAD JUST DISAPPOINTED
Image this, you plan a great vacation to Cabo. You call Boost infinite to make sure your cover in that area. They say yes. Great off you go. The moment you land take phone off airplane mode. WTH it back to saying Hello in all those languages. Then you fellow the steps like you did the day it came in the mail. Only to be stuck at "SIM NOT SUPPORTED" But hey its Cabo so beachful. But you cannot take photos your phone is blank. Let loved ones know you made it safely! No can do. 7 fun days later you're home. Been on the phone with everyone but the CEO. Apple store says it is the carrier. Tomorrow will be my 9th day without my phone,10/17/23. But let's end with some humor. Got and email saying that I am pass due on my Bill by a few days. Hey, Boost finite, I pay with the app that's on the phone that I cant! get into. Anyone knows how to help me please email me at henryscott 314 yahoo I would tell you to call but funny story that's not so funny...
Boost Infinite is an internet scam
Boost Infinite is an internet scam! I ordered two new iPhones from Boost Infinite and for six weeks I have been without service. They have a "known issue" but are unable to resolve it at this time. A number of people have complained that Boost Infinite has been unable to port their current number. I am one of these people. Nobody is in charge as the whole business is in the "clouds". Nineteen customer service reps have put me through the same steps, but their "tech" people don't work on weekends. If you have a tech problem, or if you wish to discontinue service or return a faulty phone, where do you send it? They don't have a physical address. Dish Network makes clear they are separate Boost Infinite. Boost Mobile makes it clear they are separate from Boost Infinite. The customer service reps at Boost Infinite make it real clear even they don't know who to contact beyond the "back office". Six weeks without service and still no resolution.
Thieves
Ordered a phone from them and a SIM card for a 2nd line. Only received the SIM card in the box. They say they sent the phone, but I have no idea where they sent it. They are still charging me every month for a phone that I never got and was never activated 🙄
Be away
Be away, poor customer service, spent all day with them, for nothing. Do not waste your time with this garbage. Go with big providers. They only know how to sell their product, when you need help for anything always sad the system is down for now , or wasting you time and then they tell you we will working on your issue within 4 days. Be away new clients
Horrible
.My usal company, Republic, transferred me to Boost. Boost turned me off and lost my number. So I called and spent 3.5 hors talking to 10 people. Finally someone put in a request for I.T. to address this. 3 days later, I am still without a phone. Terrible customer service!!!!! I would recommend you steer clear of this company.
Trouble with sim cards
Switch to Boost Infinite from T-MOBILE in February (7 1/2 months). A couple of small hiccups at first but nothing major. Worked well until a month ago when I started getting messages on my phone saying, "no sim card". A few hours to a day later everything worked fine.
Fast forward to 10 days ago and the sim card didn't work at all. I contacted Boost Infinite via chat regarding this and explained to me rep that I needed a new sim card ASAP as I was having surgery in a few days and needed to have communications open. Told the card would arrive no later than the day before my surgery. Didn't happen. Luckily I was able to get the card to work for a couple hours the day before my surgery.
The new card arrived while I was in the hospital. Too late.
Old card continued to work off an on. Today I decided to change to the new card. It is totally dead!
I spent hours on chat with Samsung with them running checks on my phone and then doing a total backup, deleting everything, resetting my phone to original settings, then reinstalling what I had saved to the cloud. No change! The new card is still deader than a door nail.
The above took hours. During this time I also tried to access the Boost website for support. They have been down most of the day. If I did connect it would o ly last a couple minutes and go down again. I wanted to ask them to send me a new sim card. Now I think I am going to shop for a different provider.
Oh, I was also going to have a friend change to them. Not any more.
I am also going to write another review regarding the phones they accept. Bottom line: not many newer models.
Great service
TERRIBLE customer service
I made the GREAT mistake of moving my phone service to these clowns! I've been a loyal, happy Dish Network subscriber for over 20 years. So, I thought Boost Infinite would be a good choice. WRONG! I attempted to transfer 2 phone lines to them. After 2 days from ordering the service I received my new iPhone 15. For 6 days I am still without service as they cannot get my phone connected. I talked with 23 service (lack of service) agents. Everyone of them was extremely nice, pleasant and thoughtful. All they could do was apologize. I was on the phone over 2 hours each day for 6 days!! I would NEVER recommend this company to my worst enemy. Apparently they launched the service well before ironing out the problems. PLEASE take my advice and stay away from Boost Infinite!! I'm returning the iPhone 15, cancelling the service and requesting a total refund. UPDATE: In attempting to return to my prior carrier, Boost Infinite had to give them a transfer pin #. The # they provided could not be confirmed. I stayed on the line with customer service for 45min and finally had to hang up as my battery went out. PLEASE PLEASE hear me!! Do not give Boost Infinite any business......you have been warned!!
Better off with two tin cans an a piece of string phone service for my…
Tried to get phone service for my retired grandmother boost infinite
Utter frustration five weeks two hrs a day cannot bloody activate.
Could not give new number!
Could not port number!
Cost me hundreds of dollars for new phones that they could not activate!
100s of people said they would help an had to explain over and over an still got nowhere!
Seven sim cards they sent me an still no activation!
Buyer beware! If it looks to good to be true it is !
Recommend you get a different carrier
I had Republic Wireless and they transferred all customers to Boost Infinite. It has been a nightmare. Wednesday Sept 27th I received the sim card in the mail went to activate it and it said the number was wrong. I entered it multiple times on the computer and it kept saying it was wrong so I called and spoke with an agent. He said to use Esims as it was easier - so sure okay. I asked what I should do with the physical sims card and was told I could throw it way. Said the phone would be up in a couple of hours - spoiler it wasn't. Called the next day (Thursday) and was told there is a known issue it would be resolved by Saturday (2 days away) - spoiler it wasn't. Waited until Monday called again. They said they would do the Esim again. Wait an hour and all should be good - spoiler it wasn't. Called back and was told there was nothing they could do IT knows about the problem and is working on it. They said they had no idea when the issue would be repaired said to use another phone, family etc. I live alone I am 70 years old I have no other phone. They said they could send another physical sims. Told them the 1st card didn't work why would I believe another would. They had no suggestions. Decided to get a new service. Today I called to get the info I needed to port my phone number, Told they can't verify the account as I didn't have the sim card. I had been told I could throw it away so I had. I asked to speak to a supervisor. I was told they couldn't transfer me, the supervisor would have to call me back. I said I was borrowing my sister's phone as she was here seeing me but she would not be here long. Put on hold for a long time. Then told all supervisors are in a meeting they can't transfer me, the supervisor would have to call me back. My sister agreed to wait for a time. We are still waiting. The agents were professional just not able to help. The company does not seem to care about my lack of service. They have not reached out except one email that said they would credit my account $28 wow so generous (not). It has been 7 days since this started. They have said it is a known issue. No idea on when it will be resolved. I just keep getting told there is nothing they can do. I do not sense the company cares at all about it customers. I would give them zero stars if I could.
Your old phone may not work
(Update at end)
HORRIBLE!!
I was a Republic Wireless customer and was satisfied with it. But at the end of August we were forced over to Boost Infinite and it has been absolutely awful. Signal strength almost non-existent. Internet did not work after cut-over, spent an hour on the phone (my VOIP landline) with them and still not working. The rep tried to be helpful but was lost. I am in Chicago, not out in the stix. Republic got bought out by Dish which also owns Boost so they decided to merge them. I had AT&T prepaid for many years and had excellent coverage. Will be looking to go back. This is unacceptable.
Update December 19, 2024: Since my initial review, I spent more hours on the phone with their support. Still could not resolve the problems. Their last suggestion was to try the SIM card on another phone, which I did and the thing worked. I was faced with a choice: look for a new carrier or a new phone. I chose the latter. The service so far, with the new phone, has worked reasonably well. They also seem to be improving and support 4G/LTE and 5G. (5G in my immediate area is still iffy.) It uses the regular Boost Mobile network. However, if Boost Infinite customers go into a Boost Mobile store, they have never heard of you. As an infrequent cell user, I will keep the service for now as it is still relatively cheap.
Excellent Value
I've had the $25 service plan for 5 months now. In my city, I was placed on the AT&T network. I decided to leave this review because honestly I couldn't be happier with the service provided so far. I think the reviews are a bit scathing, given the price.
I've had other third party brands like Straight Talk, Visible by Verizon, and so far this is the best customer service I've ever had.
The signal is reliable, it works seamlessly, and customer support is available not only in-app but by phone, which was not an option with the other two. Straight Talk routed all calls to India, which was a nightmare.
They were very direct that the service is in Beta, meaning it's still new. Knowing that helped me. However if I didn't know that and had problems I might be annoyed if I had issues.
I love that the future service will be a competitor to Verizon, AT&T, and T-Mobile - I'm sick of them all.
The value per dollar is unbeatable with any other service.
I have not had data for 3weeks
I have not had data for 3weeks, everytime I call they say they are moving to a priority and nothing is getting done about it. They should have not touch any phone from republic if they could not handle the job.
If I could give them zero or negative…
If I could give them zero or negative stars, I would. Without warning, on Sept 15 they suspended my account due to non-payment. Mind you, I have it set up for auto-pay, which transpired on Sept 4. When I went to call them, while connected to Wi-Fi- the phone does not work. I had to resort to chatting with a completely inept person who said my account was over-due since I didn’t pay $25 at the time of activation- which was July 20! How could I have used my phone then for over 6-weeks if I supposedly had not paid ? I went ahead and submitted another payment since I was needing my phone re-activated. Fast forward 6 days later and still no resolution. Every agent I communicate with is just as confused and can not assist me- they need to “open a ticket” with the “back office”. After the allotted 24-48 hr period passes and still no service, another agent tells me “they have been trying to reach you and have been unsuccessful after 3 attempts so they closed the ticket.” Are you kidding me? They suspend my service due to a billing error on their end and try to call me on a non-working phone? I call BS. I gave them my daughter’s number to contact me and she never received a call, after they insisted on needing a different contact number to reach me. Why not let me know what they supposedly need from me as I’m talking to an agent?? I’m joining any class action suit being filed. This is a huge safety issue as I can not make any calls in the event of an emergency. This has affected me more than just not having a phone. I urge anyone to stay away from this company.
