Ordered a book (cost £7) on 25th March 2026.
I noticed they offered PayPal, until I reached the 'checkout'. No PayPal option there. But I stupidly continued with my Debit card.
It's now 18th May 2026 and I have received nothing.
I cannot access their website because it flags up as 'dangerous'.
This company is just a SCAM.
Do Not Use .
I lost £7 and have learned from my mistake.

Ordered a book about 5weeks ago still not received this, have tried ringing and emailing have had no response. Finally when they did respond I asked for a refund was told that I can’t have this and I should be getting a link as it’s a digital copy, this was not explained when I ordered, it will be a digital copy until now no link has been sent to me .
Absolutely disgusting service, don’t understand how they run this business.
Avoid this company do not purchase from them bunch of con artists.
Up till to date I have had no response
Taking peoples money and not giving them the goods that they purchased.

As per all the other reviews. I ordered a hardcover book and when nothing turned up I contacted the customer service team who claimed I ordered a digital copy. Asked for a hardcover book and now they have gone silent. I will be reporting them to trading standards.

Absolutely disgusting. The people who work for the company should be ashamed of themselves. Scamming innocent people. I have had the same experience as all of the other reviews. I feel silly for not checking reviews beforehand but thought I had got a bargain fory sons 5th birthday. I'm just so disappointed. Awful company.

Bokon advertise physical copies of books, allow you to select “hardcover” and then send you a link to a digital copy and refuse to refund you. I’m currently on my 4th email fighting for a refund and feeling stupid for not checking them out before buying. I usually check new websites on trustpilot but was in a rush this time 🤦🏻‍♀️

You order a hardback and get sent a download link instead. This company is a scam. If you do find yourselves as I have having ordered a book and received a download link instead and them refusing to refund you, I suggest you report it to Trading Standards and also to the publisher of the Book that you were trying to buy.

Update 29/04/26, after lots of back and forth the company promised a refund which didn't materialise so I have raised a complaint with my credit card company, awaiting result of that.
Further update 08/05/2026 - refund received from credit company

I would put no stars if possible. I ordered a book from this company and the order clearly states that the format is ‘hard cover’, it failed to arrive and after two weeks I emailed them and they told me it was digital. This was ordered as a gift and I only have my phone, the digital ‘book’ had gone into my junk mail.
It is no good to me or as a gift.
Bokon books say as far as they are concerned the order is complete. I am furious and feel scammed by this dishonest and misleading advertising.
I have a screen shot or this order and it clearly says format is hardcover. If I wanted digital they are available on eBay for less money but this particular book is unsuitable, I already have the book myself from a reputable book store so wanted it as a gift for a friend.

I wanted a hard backed book and thought that was what I had actually ordered. When I enquired about delivery, I was informed I had received my ebook. I said that I did not want an ebook, as at 72 its hard to read anything on a small screen.
I was refused a refund or an exchange. I will never buy from this company again and would advise others to do the same.

Absolute scam. Ordered a hardcover book and they sent me a digital version and tried to tell me that's what I ordered. They refused me a refund and were rude in their communications. DO NOT BUY FROM THIS COMPANY

Don’t even deserve that - bought a book which clearly stated hardcover only to receive an ebook! Totally misleading and should be shut down. Definitely not what it says in the tin! AVOID

SCAM..do not buy from this website. I paid for a physical book and was sent a pdf to download. I requested a refund, was told no. I complained again, was promised a refund but then told no again. Do not use!

Update: After threatening them that I would go to my credit card issuer to pursue a claim I have received a full refund.

I would give them 0 stars if I could. I ordered and paid for a paperback and was sent a download link to an ebook. Customer services have refused to supply the paperback, or issue a refund despite sending screenshots showing that I clearly ordered a paperback. Rip-off merchants. Avoid!

Similar to other reviewers. I responded to a website which clearly stated that the book I wanted was half price and in HARDBACK format. I later received a link to download an e-book. Ok if that's what you want and have somewhere to store and use it, but don't be deceived into thinking that you're going to receive a physical book.

Total scam, no book arrived!

This company is a scam. Do not buy! There’s nothing on their website to indicate this is an online digital book service. You will not receive a physical copy of the books you order and you will not be able to get a refund. I found an email in my junk mail with a link to click which took me to the book I had been waiting to receive in the post. AVOID!!

I would have given one star but they have refunded my money. I threatened to report them to Action Fraud. I don’t know if that made any difference. However they still keep sending emails (as if they hadn’t refunded anything) saying they made it clear it was an e book and not a paperback book. They didn’t!

SCAM. THIS COMPANY HAVE NOT INTENTION OF SENDING YOU ANYTHING. I wish had read reviews as I bought a book advertised as a Hardcover and was then told I had bought an e book. I am pursuing this with trading standards and whatever else I can throw at it. They need to have their site taken down. The phone number is of no use. I suspect the address is not valid either.

I’ve been scammed like all the other people. I bought my hardback book and was sent an e-book instead. They’ve now stopped communicating with me.

My experience with Bokon is much the same as other people who have left Trustpilot reviews. I ordered a paperback book and only received a download link (it didn't work!) and they refused to refund me! I just wish I had gone and checked them out on Trustpilot first!

I wish I had read these reviews before ordering. Yes they are a scam as they only send E books even though you have ordered a HARD copy. They stop communicating when you chase it. I believe they operate in Poland. Don't know if the author of the book ever gets any payment due. So I hope a fraud investigation takes place and shuts them down.
