Review summary

Created with AI, based on recent reviews

Looking at 56 reviews, most reviewers were let down by their experience overall. Many customers found the application to be extremely slow, constantly lagging, and frequently freezing, making it almost impossible to play games or use other features. The program often crashed, sometimes requiring a full computer reboot, and reviewers reported issues with apps not working or the built-in store failing to load. Furthermore, many users expressed frustration with the abundance of ads, which frequently interrupted gameplay, failed to load properly, or even caused the application to crash. The uninstallation process was also criticized for being difficult and leaving residual files. However, some people were satisfied with the application, finding it easy to install and effective for running specific media apps or playing certain games without issues.

No option to turn off "Launch BlueStacks on PC Startup"

the application runs, minimized to the task tray, when you turn on your PC (most apps do this..). BlueStacks confirmed on Reddit that there is NO option to turn this off. So as long as it is installed, it will always start when you turn on your PC. That alone is enough reason for me to not install this software on my PC. To me, this is intentional, intrusive and borderline maleware-ish design choice. The app has been around for a while, so clearly they just don't care to add a simple fix. Most people probably would never notice or even care, but this is just a major annoyance for me personally. Please fix this! I will not use it without that option.

Horrendous

I just installed today and what a nightmare.

1) It keeps kicking me out of my game constantly. I'm playing word chums on my PC. I play 1-2 words back page and it kicks me out.

2) It won't give me full screen like a pc - only a mobile view/width so my computer screen is 25% game, the rest ads or blank screen.

3) I add a single letter and the screen zooms. Now I can't see the board so must double click to return to a regular size and repeat per letter, doubling my time to play.

4) The enter key no longer works on chat (with friends) I must click send. People used to computers do use enter keys - duhh.

5) Support: Incompetent. First I get a bot. The bot passed me a url for support. Sure they "replied" within a few hours, except the rep EVA didn't read a word I wrote - ignored my screenshot and just sent a link to help files that are irrelevant for my issues. This is the sign of a company that doesn't care about its users.

It's the worst gaming package I've ever seen.

Gone downhill, all ads and slows down constantly

Used to really enjoy this and found it handy but now it's terrible. It boots up some useless gaming interface first before you can go to the app player. I have a brand new gaming PC yet I can only use Bluestacks for an hour or so before it grinds to a halt and I have to restart it. It's super fast at first, then dies every time. I have an i7-14700k with 64GB RAM and RTX 4080 Super GPU so there's no excuse for it.

This software has REALLY gone downhill

This software has REALLY gone downhill, and when I say downhill, I mean corrupt, clunky, and shady. I would STRONGLY suggest using an alternative. Here's why...

To start, they hide their settings from you, and do some VERY intrusive things. For example, for some odd reason, they have "wake up alarms" set up in Bluestacks, where their software can wake up your computer. I was wondering why my computer kept turning back on when I was shutting it off, looked into it in cmd.exe, and guess what program it indicated was waking my computer up? Yes, Bluestacks!!! To make it worse, they have NO settings in their software to change this. In fact, they have practically no settings AT ALL in their "settings section of the software. Everything is hidden from you.

To add to things that are hidden, they take it upon themselves to automatically add their software to your start up programs. Why would I want Bluestacks loading up every time I start my computer??? It's just a waste of resources and memory! But again, there's no settings in the software to change it, so you have to use other software (or Windows settings) themselves to turn it off. Again, shady!!!

Now, if you look past all the shady things their software does, and evaluate the software for performance, it is STILL very disappointing. Sure, there are a few things you can do with the software that's nice, but it's EXTREMELY slow, like unreasonably, "what could it possibly be doing in the background that's taking so long" slow. As others have stated, it's intrusive, and they run things in the background that snoop, and bog your computer down in the process.

This software used to be decent, but it has seriously fallen apart over the years. I'm actually posting this as I was looking for an alternative to Bluestacks, as personally, I'm going with something less shady and more transparent. I strongly advise you do the same

Downloaded Bluestacks

Downloaded Bluestacks, installed and played Brawlstars, found out something was fishy, my cursor tracers when aiming were moving alone.

I had an aimbot. I didn't see any similar cases, but for me, Bluestacks installed a hack on my game.
