What a waste of evening, booked to see the light festival at the same company (blue boat opposite Hard Rock Cafe) we have been using for the last 3 years for the light festival

Every time we have done this excursion we have had audio explaining what the artwork was supposed to be and what inspired the artist and also what country the artist is from, but this time is was just a waste of time, all you heard throughout the tour was feliz navidad and elvis!

We spoke to the captain about this at the beginning when I realised we were not going to get any audio and he rudely said nothing to do with me, disgusting attitude!

I am on the tour, bored out my head as I type this and I am demanding a full refund upon departure!

If I don’t receive the full refund of €130 I will never use this company again and this is the first of many, many bad reviews I will be leaving about this company (blue boat)

I have my own boat I can cruise around the canals anytime I want, I was paying for the information about the light festival, Absolutely ridiculous!

Update: what a lot of rubbish that reply is because it was my wife who went to speak to him twice after the first 2 light structures had passed and he said there’s nothing he can do about it, so your captain is a liar!!

I only started this review half way through the tour because I was so angry and bored so please don’t try and treat me like I’m stupid!

If this is your attitude it’s no surprise that the idiot sailing the boat had a stinking attitude, I live here and have done this tour so I knew what to expect, the tourists on the boat didn’t even know what to expect that’s why you might get away with them but your not pulling this one with me, I hope the light festival company have customers telephone number and call them to ask them to confirm everything I’m saying and prove your captain is just a liar!!!

This isn’t the last you’ll hear of me either so expect a lot of bad reviews on every site me and my friends can find to share this, with so many options to choose from I will and would advise everyone to stay clear of blueboat!

We had a fantastic time on the canal cruise, thanks in large part to our witty and funny captain. His engaging storytelling and humorous commentary kept us entertained throughout the journey. Perfect and smooth experience. Captain Hanz departed on time and arrived back on time. His sense of humor and additional commentary made the trip even more fun and pleasant. The boat features 19 languages options plus Kids Dutch and Kids English channels. The audio guide is interesting with a mix of history and contemporary information. Would recommend this as an introductory tour to anyone visiting Amsterdam for the first time. There are souvenirs and snacks/coffee options at the dock as well.
