We've used many different types of block/brick cutting tools over the years and none of them have been as good as the block chop.
Near perfect cuts every single time, really simple to use. Having the tape measure saves time marking each cuts, haven't needed any yet but being able to buy replacement parts is fantastic. The whole thing has a decent amount of weight to it to withstand the use on a building site but still light enough to carry around.
We've had the block chop for about 6 months and use it every single day.
Definitely a worth while investment for our gang

This thing is something else! I’m a joiner not a bricky so every time I have to cut a block I’m rusty at it and I’m used to making poor cuts using a balster chisel or making a big dusty noisy mess with a stone cutting disc on my angle grinder.

I gave this thing two big whacks with my lump hammer and it cut the block perfectly first time. There’s even a tape measure gauge affixed to the blockchop so you don’t need to mark the block with a tape first. I reckon it took about 10 seconds from being shouted a measurement, chucking the block into the blockchop and then having hit it and picked the freshly (and very accurately) cut piece out to pass up to the bricky. It’s very impressive

Time is money and this thing will earn you such a lot of time. Plus it looks pretty cool. I believe every builder needs one of these in their van. As a joiner I have tens of expensive industry standard woodwork tools in my van that I only occasionally use, and my impression of this blockchop tool is that it’s something most builders would use every single day so it should certainly be something every builder owns along with their bucket of hammers and whatnot and become the industry standard.

Whoever came up with this needs a medal!

Cuts lightweight blocks great.
100mm medium density concrete good.
Need to be on solid ground for 140mm...on scaffolding think to much give in scaffolding to provide enough pressure to cut blocks easily.
Very easy to use and easier than a block press to carry around.

A great tool. Good on safety, rapid in comparison to more traditional cutting techniques and massively reduces those untidy jagged cuts all bricklayers will be used to getting irritated by. Definitely recommended.

Absolutely the best tool we have!

Complete game changer for cutting solid block. We use 7.2 newton clinkers and 1 swing from the lump hammer perfect cuts every time, we were going to buy a splitter went for this instead and I’m so glad that we did 😁

Definitely recommend. Cuts blocks with ease, and save time on measuring and marking too. Used this on a good few jobs now and absolutely worth the money.
