I don’t usually write reviews

I don’t usually write reviews, but this one’s warranted.

I bought a pair of Black Crows Draco Pilus skins (~$350), used them 4 times, and the glue already started peeling. I filed a warranty claim…and heard nothing back.

Since I still needed skins to finish the season, I bought a second pair from ActionMama (shipped from Slovenia). Opened them right out of the box—and the glue was already peeling AGAIN.

Two brand new pairs. Same defect. Premium price.

At this point, it’s hard to understand what Black Crows is selling here. For this kind of money, you expect reliability—not immediate failure and zero customer support.

Would not recommend unless they seriously address their quality control and customer service.

No reply on warranty request

I contacted because of a warranty request. The poles I bought bent already during the first day of skiing with the poles. Now, they are curved in different directions along the whole length. I have had my previous poles for more than ten years and they did not bend at all.

I got one short reply which did not really help at all. Since then, I do not get responses.

I am deeply unhappy with both quality of the product and service.

Production error and bad customer support

I loved the brand and the skis. But after a few days into the season, I realised a gap between the core and edge, which has been filled with regular wax. This was clearly a production error.
After reaching out to the customer support, they replied once and then started ghosting me :(
Doesn't feel like the hardware and customer support have such a high quality at all :(

Xpore pants - low quality - no warranty!

I bought a pair of Xpore pants, and after just a year, holes started forming in the folds. Blackcrows' customer service claims this is normal wear and refuses to honor the warranty.

Extremely disappointing for such expensive technical clothing. I’d recommend choosing a brand with a stronger warranty policy and superior fabric quality.

Poor quality hardware, worse support, avoid!!

Skis started falling apart after very light use. One of them delaminated after only a few days of gentle piste skiing. I dread to think what might happen when I use them for what they are designed for.

Warranty process was combative and difficult, I had to send a ton of pictures and explanation before eventually getting agreement that one of the skis would be replaced. When I bought them, I paid for bindings and mounting. But the replacement won’t have the binding mounted.. apparently this isn’t in the warranty terms so I’ll be out of pocket getting my replacement ski mounted.

All in, it’s also taken 2 weeks so far with the warranty process, and I’m still unlikely to get the replacement for another week. As an instructor, I rely on my kit. I no longer trust this kit and I’ll be considering what to do with these skis after this season is over. I honestly can’t endorse this brand or product to anyone.

Shocking experience overall.

This is a tough review to write as I…

This is a tough review to write as I have loved Black Crow's Skis for many years, and I felt a huge sense of pride shredding the mountain on my Black Crow Daemons. However, after only taking the skis out on 3 separate ski trips they cracked down the middle of one of the skis in 7+ places, and the middle of the ski also separated from the top sheet and base of the ski!

Black Crow are supposed to be renowned for the high quality and performance of their all mountain skis, at the time, this was a big purchase for me, hence my pride in riding them. However, after they cracked and faulted after only my third ski trip, Black Crow customer support said that there was nothing they could do for me, and have since stopped replying to my emails altogether. I didn't even ask for a refund or replacement but simply a discount on a future set of skis (I loved the brand that much!)

My recommendation would be to NOT buy Black Crow skis, their reputation does not match the quality of their skis and their customer service was very dismissive.

Check out the "1000" skis instead, I've heard very good things! (been skiing for nearly 20 years)

Great customer service

Great service, received a hat with some flaws and as soon as I got in touch they agreed its quality was lacking and offered to send a replacement which has now arrived and is perfect.

Unacceptable and arrogant support/NO SUPPORT

Great Skis but absolutely unacceptable and arrogant support.

Second time wrong delivery, over days, weeks no reactions/solution (till today 13.12 - 8 days - no reaction).

Also it looks like that the production is transferred into low wage countries - we will see what this means for the quality of the ski!

Will be my last black crows (first black crows was 2011!).
