While we don't verify specific claims because reviewers' opinions are their own, we may label reviews as "Verified" when we can confirm a business interaction took place. Read more

I bought BTC through Bitvavo and honestly regret it. Trying to transfer to my hardware wallet was a nightmare—small amounts, big amounts, didn’t matter. Transactions kept failing, and little explanation of how their verification even works for amounts over €1,000.
Then it got worse: my BTC withdrawals to an external wallet were completely blocked. After sending a ton of emails, the only thing they told me was that they kept on saying..they were “certain” I was being scammed or that fraud was involved. No real explanation, no solution. Just that I could sell everything and withdraw euros to my bank account—which obviously isn’t what I want and would cost me money.
After pushing them again and again, they finally asked me to prove the hardware wallet is mine. I sent everything they asked for… and then nothing. Complete silence.
The platform itself might work, but their support is terrible. This whole experience has been beyond frustrating. I would seriously think twice before using Bitvavo.

Automatic AI replies and semi automatic emails are very frustrating. I didn't know I had to upload an image of my wallet (wtf) in order to retrieve my now frozen funds (wtfx2).
I have been asking support and the chat how to do it exactly and they keep sending the same automatic reply WITHOUT READING MY EMAILS.
At this point just reverse the transaction. This is beyond frustrating
solved but still extremely frustated.

Don’t use Bitvavo if you want to do any transactions with crypto, my account literally got blocked because I transfered my crypto over to a casino (which was apparently against their TOS). I thought crypto was all about being anonymous and untraceable.
Their investment options seem fine, please do yourself a favor and download Exodus if you want a proper wallet!

I lost 500 € due to a critical failure in Bitvavo’s interface. Their platform showed a GREEN "VERIFIED" TICK for an HBAR address that was technically incorrect (checksum mismatch).
I followed their rules and verified the address, but THEIR own validation tool misled me by confirming a wrong address as "Verified". Now, Bitvavo (Complaints Dept.) hides behind Art. 4.11 of their Terms, refusing to admit that their UI gave me false security.
I have 15 technical proofs and a 100-page dossier and a formal report already filed with the AFM (Dutch Regulator) and notified to DNB.
If Bitvavo's "Verified" status can't detect a wrong address, their system is NOT safe. Be careful with your funds.

I opened account and put money in my account. Then, later, they blocked my account due to US citizenship, so I was not able to access my funds. They promised to send them back to my original payment source. Eventually, this took several weeks – in fact, I am still waiting for my money.

The onboarding could not have been smoother. User Interface very friendly and Onfido quick and efficient. Instant deposit acceptance with Revolut, Dashboard appearance and metrics very intuitive

Very bad support team and poor localisation to verification process. It does not recognise my ID nor acknowledge the ID format. Support has zero help and kept on sending emails asking me to mark the issue as resolved :-(

Overall app is hard to set up thats why I chose to just do my thing on their webpage. The first years I was just holding some crypto and wasn't doing that much. But now I tried using Bitvavo to try and refer my coins to another platform. Since I was already set up I verified anything on security and all was good except
2fa security check for widrawl, so I did. Then it started... 24 hour wait after that. Need to change password, need to verify email, need to set up notification need to set security code. After each step the 24 to 72 hour wait time to widrawl or refer starts again. So after doing all that and waiting 24 hours, they got me doing half of it again in app. Now they got me using the app but I was kinda happy whitout.
Customer support is a bit fage, but just google the steps and you do fine. Not recoment this if you want to daytrade crypto or want a quick exchange to other platforms to trade/snipe Meme coins. For me it's the time they take and the reset of the timer.
