I couldn't imagine having a better…post accidental damage experience with my insurance.

I couldn't imagine having a better cycling insurance than Bikmo. having even a small bicycle accident was not easy and the damage on the bike kept me back from training. I felt comfortable with Bikmo. Their customer care is responsive, empathetic, meticulously going through your details, so have your receipts ready. They paid of quickly, not weeks or months but 3 working days. Now, I haven't felt as confortable with other companies, as with Bikmo so I switched back to Bikmo and I look forward to see them expanding in Europe too!

I was absolutely gutted when my bike…

I was absolutely gutted when my bike got stolen and Ellie and Tom at Bikmo were so efficient and responsive dealing with my claim. I got back what I paid for the bike and was able to buy a new one. Very pleased with the service 👌

Very well handled claim.

I had to make a claim following an unscheduled trip into the Leeds Liverpool canal after a puncture on my Brompton E-Bike which wrecked the (rather expensive) motor.
Bikmo were supportive, helpful and handled the claim quickly and without fuss. They are fellow cyclists and understand. I recommend them highly. Thanks.
Other insurers may be cheaper but do not offer such good cover and support.

Looks comprehensive, but key scenarios not covered

I had a bike insured with Bikmo which was stolen from a secure workplace location.

My claim was rejected, and I escalated it to the Financial Ombudsman Service. The Ombudsman has now upheld the rejection.

The decision came down to a very specific policy definition: theft outside the home (after 24 hours) is only covered if the bike is stored in “cycle parking” that is paid for via a monthly or yearly subscription.

In my case, the location met most criteria but wasn’t paid for—so the claim wasn’t covered.

My takeaway is that the policy is much more restrictive in practice than many people would assume. I’d strongly recommend getting absolute clarity on your exact storage situation before relying on this cover.

My bike was vandalised whilst chained…

My bike was vandalised whilst chained in a town centre location. The claim was settled within three weeks (some delays due to police being slow in issuing the crime reference number and me not having enough photos of the bike at hand, so needed to dig for them - lesson for the future).

The communication with Bikmo was superb and I would like to particularly thank Jonny, Tom and Ellie for sorting out all the various documents, photos and details I sent. They also kindly phoned the bike shop to double check the quote rather than me trying to obtain clarifications.

All in all, the experience was as positive as it could be given the circumstances. Hope to get my bike fixed in a few days and be back on two wheels for my daily chores, nursery runs etc. Thank you, Bikmo Team.

Excelent experience

Amazing!!

I never write reviews for anything, but the customer service I received from Bikmo was so outstanding that I felt compelled to share my experience.

I came off my bike through no fault of my own, and the damage was significant. I was absolutely heartbroken because I loved that bike so much. Tom and Aaron at Bikmo were incredibly empathetic and genuinely caring. What I had expected to be a stressful, anxious claims process turned out to be unbelievably smooth thanks to them.

If I could give more than 5 stars, I absolutely would. They offered me two fantastic settlement options for my claim, and the whole experience left me feeling supported and reassured.

For all of us bike nerds out there, I can’t recommend this company enough.

A breath of fresh air

I could not be happier with my experience with Bikmo. I had forgotten about their no depreciation policy until I had my six year old bike stolen. I had my claim approved the very next day, and the representatives I dealt with were so friendly and efficient - made a bad situation completely stress free.

Excellent Service and value!.. I've used Bikmo for my e-bike insurance since 2020 and they've been great. Monthly payments were low and I've had a few issues which were all resolved and settled quickly.
And after my recent issue with an attempted theft that left my bike inoperable, the advisor (Tom Johnson) was helpful, friendly and quick to help me with my claim.
I'll be getting another bike asap and will be using Bikmo again. - Highly reccomended :)

Could not have asked for a better…

Could not have asked for a better service. Put the bike in for a service and the technician noticed a crack in the frame (so refused quite rightly to service it). Put in a claim with Bikmo on Monday and my claim was approved in full on Tuesday. Setting up credit with a retailer of my choice so I can buy a replacement. Excellent service

When filling out register doesn't ask…

When filling out register doesn't ask about ccj you need find that hidden bit of information in the small print seeming as is such a big deal to them should clearly be asked when sighing up my 20 year old ccj I had because my detail where stolen once and used fraudulently meant I did not qualify luckily I went through the small print after and spotted that important part

When purchasing a policy, customers are asked to confirm that they have read and understood the eligibility criteria by ticking a declaration box during the sign-up process. This information is also outlined in our policy support guides and documentation on our website, so customers can review it before purchasing.

You mentioned that the CCJ in question is around 20 years old. For policies purchased on or after 01/07/2025, CCJs only affect eligibility if they have occurred within the last 15 years, so the age of a CCJ can make a difference depending on the circumstances.
