I recently visited this shop in Venlo and unfortunately had a disappointing experience. While browsing the products, we were asked to step outside, which made us feel uncomfortable and unwelcome. It gave the impression that we were being suspected of something without any reason.
Additionally, the staff behavior was very rude and unprofessional, as they were eating in front of customers and made comments about us speaking another language.
We were basically discriminated just because we were speaking other language than Dutch.Also the staff eating in front of us said that maybe we were going to steal something 😳… just because we were looking at the products in the shop.. I was shocked of such a lack of respect towards customers and will never visit this shop again!
Overall, the experience left us with a very negative impression, feeling very discriminated by the staff of this shop.
I hope the management takes this feedback into account and improves the way customers are treated, so everyone can be treated with respect.

I have been to this shop with my friends thinking to see what products are new and if anything interesting and usefull as a gift for Easter…
While we were looking at products there was 1 staff member sitting at a table and eating in front of us. I politely told her in Dutch “Enjoy your meal!” , she said Thanks! and continued talking on the phone while me and my friends were looking at the products.
None of us did not even took a single product to try it on or to go to the fitting room or anything.. we were not loud or anything that would make a normal person think we would disturb someone in any way..
Still, all of a sudden, the same woman from the staff who was eating in the shop - came to us and said: “We are feeling uncomfortable with to the way you are looking at products and moving around and we ask you to leave the shop! “
I was shocked .. I told here:But is there a “standard “ way to move in a shop or look at products? Have we stolen something or why are you treating us like that ?
She said: No, not yet, but maybe you were going to and also you speak in another language!…😳
This was real discriminatory treatment that we witnessed from the staff of this shop called Bever…
They have a physical shop open so that customers can come in, look , try on / buy products and still you may be “ invited” to leave just because you speak in another language than Bever employees or because the staff think that you are maybe going to steal something while you just look at products … it is like I would put someone in jail that I see walking in the park just because I believe that maybe in 1 year from now that person would kill someone! This is the illogical, aggresive and discriminatory way of behaving of the people working in this shop..
It is insane that such rude and unprofessional people are hired in customer facing roles!😳

Few years ago I bought some Meindl shoes from this shop, however after today’s awfull experience with the staff I will surely not go there nor recommend it to anyone.
Prices are anyway much higher and many of the products you can buy them online at better price than the prices from Bever.

I recently gave my expensive PME coat to the Bever store in Arnhem for washing, and a friend picked it up on my behalf. When I put it on to go to the office, I was shocked to find the outer layer covered in women's hair, dust, and grime, along with a terrible odor. It seems they only washed the inside and left the outside completely untouched, likely storing it in an unhygienic place. I went back to the store to complain, and the gentleman there agreed this was unacceptable and offered a refund. I declined the money because, for me, this is about a complete loss of trust in Bever, not the cost of the service. Please be careful if you entrust them with your valuable items.
Always friendly and helpful
A dream place that includes literally everything for outdoor. Staffs (at least the ones in Maastricht) are always friendly (and not "too" friendly!) and helpful. They even promptly refund me the difference after I found out the Arc'teryx jacket I bought a week ago is now cheaper.

Bought Lowa Renegades and thought they were my favorite shoes until after 2 years the right shoe's leather tore from the sole.
Went to Bever for service and repair was not possible. Asking for discount on replacement shoes I was turned down.
They lost a customer and I go to Katmandou from now on.

I bought a Microlight Alpine Down Jacket from Rab in the sales, last week, and it was a real bargain (-46%). The delivery was quite fast, the product impeccable. The communication was good, but I was a bit surprised that the package got here so fast (we always try to be at home when packages are delivered). Luckily, I was at home. I would have liked it if Bever had warned me about the exact delivery time. However, I'm happy with my jacket and this experience.
Excellent service among outdoor product shops
Bever, in my opinion, offers the best customer service among all online/offline outdoor shops. It's simple: anything you don't like, you can return them. Plus the packaging and delivering are really fast! Never had any issue with them over dozens of orders.
I recon that the prices can be higher than other places which is why as a customer I always compare different sources. But you can always return any product without any hassel.
I end up spend thousands of euros over the past few years on Bever and I will continue to do so.

I bought a pair of Hanwag shoes from Bever Sport in The Mall of the Netherlands in Leidschendm for €194, being told that they were very hard wearing and that they would last a long time. Well, just two and a half years later these expensive shoes which still have a good sole with a good grip have come apart from the sides. I only use these shoes for normal travelling and walking and do not do any strenuous hiking in them.
When I contacted Bever they said they could not help me and that I should contact Hanwag.
I contacted Haanwag and I have no useful reply from them yet. I would really advise you to be careful before buying any such expensive Hanwag footwear. I have many other shoes from other brands which have lasted better much longer and after more extensive and hard use. Hanwag your product is very disappointing.
No delivery, no money back after weeks of waiting
Ordered a bag. One month later still no delivery, no money back. After two weeks i started to write emails to the customer service, and call. They told me, they had a software update, thats why they are a bit late. One month passed by, a week ago i cancelled the order, but still did not get any confirmation or the money back. I will file a police report as next.
Next day delivery fail
I ordered a TOAKS pot and Cocoon liner from them even if I could buy it elsewhere for a lower price because they promise next day delivery for orders placed before 10 p.m. And guess what? Of course they didn't deliver that the next day. Order was placed on Monday, of course I don't require next day delivery on Saturday or Sunday.
Best customer service of any company I know
I was checking the reviews for an outdoor brand that I didn’t know and found them very low, so I just wanted to check how much Trustpilot reviews are worth/whether it’s only a platform for people to post complaints. I figured that for comparison, I would check the reviews for Bever, since I’ve bought with them often for the past 15 years, online and in-store (in Amsterdam and Utrecht), and have never had a single bad experience. I was actually shocked to see such a low score, and conclude that Trustpilot is mostly a platform to complain… So for balance, here’s my 2-cents: I think Bever is an awesome outdoor store with the most knowledgeable, customer friendly, and passionate outdoor nerds one could wish for. I sometimes see outdoor gear cheaper elsewhere but will still buy at Bever because they have proved over and over again that if there are any issues, they will do what they can to help/find a solution. All kudos to Bever from me.

Packages Do Not Deliver As Promised & Refunds aren't given

They refused to send another saying its too expensive as well. Thereby, locking in cusotmer money and refusing a re-order is insanely bad service.

I wanted to return/repair/ask for advice about my jacket which I bought there 3 weeks ago. The material got torn and worn after carrying a snowboard. Extremely weak materials used in a “tech outdoor” jacket which is sold and marketed like this. I did not receive any willingness to help and only got blamed that it was my own fault and they are not going to do anything with that, only offering paid repair and no help with filing complaint at the company which produced the jacket…
I find the lack of sympathy and solutions outrageous after buying such an expensive cloth item which failed because of poor materials while using it. When I’m buying something (a “premium” jacket at a “premium” outdoor store) I expect service, especially in a physical store, which was not delivered. Quite weird because most online webshops would help with a return like this, no questions asked. Just learned a lesson that it’s sometimes better to just order online. Bever lost me as a customer.

I need to chase the staff who prioritise making the shelves look nice instead of taking time to serve and give good info. I have gone here many times, and the no-service is very consistent.
I asked the salesperson about a specific shoe and size. Not only did they tell me it was out of stock - but then, randomly walking through the store, I found what I was looking for.
