I'm an 82 year-old widow, and while trying to refinance my home, met Bertram Lebhar thru Better Lending.

This man has been so kind, patient, understanding, and, especially empathetic to me - taking the time to explain things to me over & over again - until I genuinely understood everything as if I had worked in finance my whole life.

I'm not talking only about the loan's financials. I'm talking my credit score, the credit scoring algorhythm, why my score is what it is, what I can do to improve it & how I'll benefit. I'm talking where to find the mountain of needed documents or how to get them online. He even dedicated a Saturday night to review my personal budget to help me understand why I was in the position of needing to refinance in the first place, then helped me create a new budget so I don't need his services again in the future. I mean REALLY! What loan officer does that? - I'll tell you one who does ... Bertram Lebhar!

Applied for a VA cash out refinance through this company. They will always changes every time you thought that you finish the process they asked for something else as a veteran I would urge all veterans to stay away from this company. They run the company like a if you were buying a car And you would talk to one person one person and they always changes it around like a Mickey Mouse organization veterans beware

Billions of dollars have been made selling & conning the elderly, so reading a “rando” text regarding my 82 year-old mother and her VA Home Loan a few weeks ago made the hairs on my neck stand up.

My call was answered by Mr. Bert Lebhar, of Better Lending, LLC. Bert thanked me for calling/apologized for causing my anxiety.

Allegedly, Mom had inquired about refinancing to pay off some debt and convert some of her equity into cash. I couldn’t wait to hear the “hook” on this one …

The “hook” was this: Mom wanted to make the loan, and Bert said it was approved, but he wasn’t 100% comfortable closing the loan and was looking for a “biased” 3rd party to speak with Mom, review the loan estimate and advise whether the loan was genuinely helping, not harming.

I couldn’t believe what I was hearing. After unsuccessfully trying to flush out alternate agenda, I called Mom/arranged visit.

Review of the loan estimate revealed exactly what both Mom & Bert said it would:

-The loan increases mortgage payment $200/mo+ while paying off debt costing $500/mo+ (saves $300/mo total)

-Loan provides $10k cash

-There are costs (loan not alleged to be “free”)

-all numbers (costs/rates/payments) on point

What the loan estimate didn’t show / but spending the evening with my mother did - was how happy my mother was. I read some of their text conversation and email exchanges which included Bert asking multiple times if Mom genuinely wanted the loan, if she thought it would really help her (and why), and for 3rd party contact info. If I didn’t know any better - I’d have thought Bert didn’t want to give her the loan.

I’ve not shared this with you, Bert. So let me share it here : That is “strong” man. And I couldn’t be more appreciative.

And for everyone else - loan closed Jan 10th, No issues whatsoever, entire process and closing = smooth as silk.

Thank you for treating my mother with care, Bert. And for thinking about something other than a paycheck. You definitely went above & beyond.
