Beware of this company!.

Beware of this company!.. and I’d warn anyone who’s thinking of buying their Moroccan Encaustic cement tiles not to. They’re not Moroccan at all- they come from Vietnam! Morocco, Spain and Portugal have a great reputation for making high standard cement tiles. Listing them as Moroccan helps sell them but is totally misleading and probably contravenes marketing laws. I bought 18 square meters of these tiles and the corners crumbled away as the tiler laid them and they were full of fissures. I complained and no one called me back and I’ve sent emails that have never been answered. Also, the delivery system was complicated and the staff really unhelpful with any enquiry I had about a delivery date. Perhaps their porcelain tiles are good, but not their cement, they are of a dire quality.

DO NOT ORDER FROM THIS COMPANY

DO NOT ORDER FROM THIS COMPANY

Ordered a small quantity of tiles for a hearth. 3 were broken on delivery. Reported immediately. Best Tile Boutique tried to wriggle out of making good by questioning whether we signed for them in this condition. We did not.

Followed up numerous times, asking for these tiles to be replaced, only to be not get a response / repeatedly told that they haven't heard back from their warehouse in Ireland. Not an excuse - their warehouse, their company, they need to sort it. Following a further phone call this morning, they were very rude and told me I shouldn't be quibbling about 3 tiles. 3 tiles was nearly 10% of my order and in any case, the point is the tiles were damaged, unusable and needed to be replaced or refunded. Will never buy from this company again.

UPDATE 15/12/21

See below reply from BestTile. This attitude sums them up entirely!!
I will reiterate I DID NOT SIGN FOR THE DELIVERY. If I had signed for them in this condition or without checking beforehand I obviously wouldn't be disputing this! Allowances were made for damages (by the tiler) on the assumption the order would arrive in tact. I am pursuing a refund through my bank.

Hi Bethan
We have lots of info on our website explaining that tiles are fragile and the delivery needs to be checked for damage, we also explain that customers need to allow a percentage for damage. We can not be expected to send out 3 replacement tiles when the parcel was signed for in good condition and no allowance was made for potential breakages. We are dealing with fragile items the customer must make some allowances for that.

Not a good experience!!! Or a good excuse!

Not a good experience! Tiles arrived on a pallet at my daughters house. Didn’t inspect the tiles as she is disabled. When eventually we opened tiles after waiting for tiler, due to Covid, 1 box of 12 was damaged, corners broken. Contacted besttile who never got back to me, chased them only to be told I should have checked tiles when they arrived. How could I have checked them? Was the carrier going to wait whilst I inspected all the boxes of tiles?
They eventually agreed to send 2 more boxes of tiles at 50% discount, but paid postage as well! I received 2 boxes of 12 tiles. Again carrier left them with my daughter and quickly left. No time was given to inspect tiles. The next day I opened boxes, I x box damaged again corners broken off. Contacted Besttile, who are not interested and again said I should have inspected them whilst the carrier was there! Now after the tiles have been laid, hairline cracks are appearing on several tiles on the corners, so they obviously were damaged. Contacted Besttile again, only to be told I should have inspected them on delivery. This problem with the laid tiles is they didn’t show signs of damage until they have been laid. Shocking customer service, they are not interested in my plight! We are bitterly disappointed and angered at their response. It’s always a test of a company when there is a problem. Not a good experience!!!
In response to your response to the above.
You did not send me a free box of tiles, I paid 1/2 price, plus postage , something you did not mention in response! And then 12 of them were damaged.
As I explained when the tiles were laid the cracks weren’t apparent, but they must have had some damage that came to the surface. Also the boxes weren’t sealed, so they could have moved in transit and become damaged. You keep saying I should have inspected them on delivery. I don’t know of any courier who waits for you to unpack tiles to check everyone!!!! I explained due to Covid we could not lay tiles straightaway as we had to wait for tiler! Please do not insult my intelligence.

Hi Jill
I am sorry that you are not happy with us. You received your first order in early September and it was signed for as in good condition. You then contacted us in mid November 6 weeks later to tell us there was damaged tiles. You told us you needed an extra box to do an additional area and asked if we would send another box free. We sent you a box FOC even after all this time. Again you received delivery and signed without checking. We did try and help when you explained that your tiller had fitted tiles that had cracks in them by offering more at discounted price. I feel we have tried to be fair with you we sent free tiles to you 6 weeks after your delivery. I can not see how we could help you if your tiler fitted tiles with cracks in them, tiles with cracks in them are visible prior to fitting

Fantastic range and first class service

We had a long journey to the shop in Bexhill, but it was really worth it. The range of tiles is extensive and well displayed, with plenty of unique designs. We received excellent friendly service, and left with a good range of samples which allowed us to make the perfect choice for our project, a fireplace hearth. Once ordered the tiles arrived quickly, in good strong packaging. We could not be happier with the whole experience.
