Not suitable if having short legs and long torso

The results I got seemed very off, I double-checked and triple-checked the measurements, but the results were out of every imaginable scope. I have short legs and a long torso, resulting in very large bike sizes. E.g. Canyon recommends a size small, but Best Bike Advice recommends a size large with a very very long reach. I don't have confidence in buying the bike based on this fit.

Taking measurements seems to be relatively simple, though help from someone is very beneficial.

Dear Timo,

I am sorry to read that you do not trust our bike fit advice.

Our system does work for people with short legs and long torso, since our advice is fully personalized. The problem is with the standard tables that link frame size to total body height. They lack any kind of personalization.

You are 180cm tall, but the torso length that you entered corresponds with someone who is 197cm tall. The torso length is the most important body measurement in the calculation of your frame size. (please read our blog to learn more: https://bestbikeadvice.com/int/en/road-frame-size/) So logically our system will advice you a larger frame size.
Now there are two options:
A. You might have measured very accurately, but maybe you did not measure according to the definition that we specified
B. Or your measurements are correct and you do really need a larger frame size. And it would be a mistake to buy size S.

Kind regards,
Jaap

This service work pretty well. But...

This service work pretty well. I was able to find some positions that worked much better for me. I'd say it's definitely worth it if you are having trouble getting your geometry right and there is not bike shop in your area that does fittings.
I do wish that they had a feature that allows you to enter the stem length and then they recommed the bar drop.

Hi Chris, thanks for your review. I do not understand your wish, and will contact you directly for more information. The logic that we use is the other way arround. With your bike fit results we calculate what stem length you need. And we do have a tool for that.

Happy with the advice

Happy with my bikefit! I didn't know where to start when I wanted to buy a bike, but this tool helped me. It was very interesting to see what questions/measurements I had to fill in. It looked very professional and I could read/understand the differences between all the bikes. And for a good price. My friend is also convinced, he is going to try it too. Thank you.

Simple to use, value for money and practical

The advice is easy, to the point and it works. More power and at the same time less shoulder pain.

Amateur Bike fit

I just used this on my first road bike, as I was getting a bit of neck pain after 25 miles or so.
It was easy to use and reasonably priced.
It shows the "average" length of each body part for someone of your height. I knew I had longer arms and legs and short torso so when checking I was 2-3cm longer/shorter in these places it was peace of mind my measurements were near correct.
Took about 1.5-2 hours measuring and fitting the bike, I went out and instantly felt my upper body was more comfortable.
Saddle height could've been a smidge too high, but this could be down to my mis measure or strange body shape.

Overall very satisfying experience for an amateur, and much cheaper than a £100+ bike fit.

Misleading

It's probably very good, but it is not clear at the outset that this is a paid service. That's annoying.

Hi James, before you start with the bike fit we explicitly explain that it is a paid service with the following statement: “The bike fit report costs €12.50. But you can first check out how it works.” (https://bestbikeadvice.com/int/en/bikefit/) So personally I find this feedback a little unfair.

My measures are different and the difference is about 6 cm in height and a little less in the other measures. Also the boy didn’t sound competent.

Hi Hristo,
I will try to contact you directly. As your bike fit report indicates you self-measurements were not accurate. And you manually changed the back angle that our system advised to a very aggressive / aerodynamic position. Therefore the bike fit advice that you got cannot be accurate as well.

Great bike fit

This is a very accurate and easy way of getting your fit right, it also gives you helpful recommendations about the fit and what to look for.
It helped me get rid of a nagging knee problem I'd had for ages and I feel more comfortable on the bike.

Good value DIY bike fit.

Lots of clear guidance on taking measurements. I was grateful for the opportunity to modify my measurements. I could have done with an obvious way to modify my riding style from a moderately aggressive to casual. I was worried I would have to pay again. I didn't thankfully.
The results looked very useful. I will be taking them with me when I collect the new bike. We'll see how accurate it turns out to be.

Amazing service for amateur riders

I started participating in the 100-150 km amateur gravel races which made me think I should invest in a bike fitting. Since the professional bike fit costs around 300€ in my country and I am not a professional rider, I decided to try the "Best Bike Advice". I paid 12,49€ and I was impressed! It took me a while to do all body measurements but when I receive a report and set my bike according to the results, it significantly improved comfort and efficiency. And for a single payment, I was able to repeat the report for my Enduro bike.
I think this is a great service for amateur riders who don't need professional bike fitting.
A big Kudos to the team behind the Best Bike Advice!

After purchasing

After purchasing, the company said i had 24 hours to make adjustments. When i went to make adjustments within the permitted time it wouldn’t allow me. When i emailed to say about the problem “Jaap” said id have to purchase it again. They were very unhelpful and felt ripped off

Sorry to read that you feel “ripped off”. But I do not understand why. We have delivered what you have paid for. You made a mistake in the input that you provided. I tried to help you, but you did not respond to my e-mail.

You did not purchase an account and you did the bike fit with a privacy blocker. Therefore it was technically impossible for me to help you directly. It was your choice to stay anonymous.

The only way for me to help you was if you purchased an account with us. I offered to refund your previous purchase of the one-time bike fit. So you did not have to pay twice.
