Befold was founded in 2021 by me, Stefan Delemarre. In the search for a steel version of a floating wall shelf, I came up with the idea of folding the steel, in order to minimize the hanging element of the shelf. After a lot of calculations and testing, I discovered that this idea can actually be realized, and that the concept can be expanded to a wide interior range. The adventure began and I ordered the first 100 shelves to test whether it would work. Now, two years later, the befold shelves are in various stores in Europe and hang on people's walls all over the world. My mission with befold is to offer the widest possible range of unique and sustainable products and to make it possible for as many people as possible to bring a real piece of Dutch Design into their home.
