If I could give 0 stars I would

If i could give 0 stars I would
I banked with them when I lived in Spain.
I closed my account with a zero balance and a guarantee that it was closed.
This was 10 years ago.
Since then they have been adding small fees then overdraft fees and penalties. Then when I contact them by having to call Spain they assure me that this is their mistake and the account will be properly closed and charges cancelled. Then it all starts again with now a debt collection company KRUK taking over the ' debt' what I have no idea how much they think I owe... They just say settle it!
When I reply to their demands with a copy of ID as requested and a letter explaining the proof I have that I owe nothing they reply saying I now need to post it this rather than email it to the address they gave me ( which they now say well no longer be a valid email address soon for some reason) .
It is stressful and ridiculous dealing with this company that is so utterly disorganised it beggars belief.
Avoid BBVa

DO NOT BANK WITH THEM SAVING YOURSELF TROUBLE AND MONEY

In short: my online account was blocked because the system could not generate a new password for me! After more than three years, my wife was asked to provide proof of funds (for money laundering) just because her account had reached €67.000! We both had to go to an ATM twice over to change our mobile numbers, something that could not be done online!
Customer service in English is nonexistent on the phone as it is in any of their branches! My advice would be: DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME OR RISK THE POSSIBILITY OF LOOSING MONEY with this so-called bank.

BBVA could be great

BBVA could be great, but there is no customer service or workers seems not interested to work. 6 employees were dismissive out of 10. Always says they will call back but rarely do so. I have been waiting for 2 weeks now . When using the app to speak to an agent 8 time out of 10 ask me to call the contigo team by phone. When I call no one is here and says they will call me.false advertised on the BBVA website 24/7 customer service with the app this is not true

Not a bank to be trusted

This experience is a buildup of many years of bad service and toxic products they sell without consequences to themselves. I was sold a bridging loan just before the crisis of 2008. The house I was supposed to sell lost too much value and it didn't sell in time. The bank still wanted its money and ruined me financially. My lawyer fought and won a decision for me to keep one of the properties and BBVA kept the other one. To this day in 2023 I am still concidered a toxic client by the BBVA without the possibility of opening an account for my son or enjoy client discounts on insurance policies, loans, cards etc. I have never missed a mortgage payment and I have good credit now but this bank ruined my financial health and continues to try to keep me under. Please stay away from this bank. They will take advantage of you. Especially if you are not Spanish.

Poor customer support

My account was blocked because I transferred money to a foreign bank while not in Spain, and now I've been trying to unblock it for three days without success. The only option left is to go to Spain in person, which is inconvenient. It's difficult to get support in English, so if you're not fluent in Spanish, it's best to avoid opening a bank account.

Banco apestoso y miserable obsesionado con sus comisiones y como sacarte hasta el ultimo euro. Gentuza. Rivaliza con Banco Santander para ver cual de los dos abusa mas de sus clientes.

26 years with the bank

26 years with the bank, it has gone from bad to worse, they are a total disaster. Total time wasters. Really BAD attitude from their online app. department. They tell you one thing and the bank office a different story. The y have YOU doing their work. Be careful because they have charges for EVERYTHING. They need to change their attitude.

very high commissions

very high commissions. Insurance policies taken out with them are not accessible from the website. Bad attitude to negotiate hypothecation, when I change banks they worry me why (I had a fixed interest rate of 4%, those who contracted new ones were offered 2% and I was told that I had a good interest rate).

BBVA is a thief.

Worst experience I have ever had with a bank. They stole nearly 200 eur from me and refuse to give it back.
Orange took 200 off my account, that I asked to make a refund from BBVA. They indeed took money back from orange.. BUT they aren't putting the money back on my account. I'VE called them since 27.12.2022 and no help. Been calling for days, they promise that someone will call me back - nobody called me back the 3 tines it was promised + went to the office in Cruce de Arinaga on the 13.01.2023. Lady there was lovely, said someone will call me - again nobody called me. So now the money is somewhere in the BBVA system, not my account. They aren't putting it back on my account and instead they called me to tell me and reported they'll report me to inkasso. Monday 16.01.2023 I am going to the police for theft from BBVA!
Has been horrible horrible experience BBVA España!

The worst bank.

Let's start with the fact that the company robs customers. To transfer money to a friend, you have to wait 3 days. But if you don't want to wait, pay the money and the payment will go through immediately. HELLO PEOPLE. This is not done manually by people, it is done by a computer in seconds and it does not cost the money that the bank takes. Further. Support service 0. Wrote a letter to e-mail - no answer for 2 days. Further. Smartphone application. In the application, each action must be confirmed with an SMS notification. For what? It is enough to do it once at the entrance. Attention, to change the language in the application - you need to change the language in the smartphone system! Ahahaha What stupidity. A company that makes billions can't hire a couple of developers from Eastern Europe or India to fix it for pennies? It seems to me that companies do not care about their customers. Further. Bank branches close at 11 a.m. or 2 p.m. Why? And because they have siestas and fiestas.) They have no time for customers. Customer orientation 0. Why should I leave work to open a bank account? This is my worst experience of all the banks I have worked with. Better avoid this place.

I can't access my account

I can't access my account. It's a bank holiday, and they can't help on the phone. Very unprofessional.

Update: I went to the bank on Avenida de Tirajana (Gran Canaria), the following day. I waited almost an hour, so did everyone else, standing in line. One of the employees had to have three colleagues helping her with what she was doing, and several waiting clients left.
When it finally was my turn, she didn't understand any English. While she tried to activate my account, she was busy recording private voice messages on WhatsApp, unbelievable!!

F*** BBVA

Terrible customer service, horrible and entitled representatives, zero corporate responsibility, and zero care about individual customers.

Being an international who had to live in Spain for work, I had to make an account with a local bank. I came to BBVA, knowing it from commercials, and online ads. However, their treatment of customers is absolute s**t.

I left Spain recently and wanted to keep my account open. Made an inquiry to change my phone number while I was still there, but apparently, they either never received it or lost it. Can not access my account, and I'm still required to pay for their dumb life insurance which I didn't need in the first place. Now I cant cancel it, and the only way I can access my account again, is if I come back to Spain, and do it in their local branch.

F*** BBVA, and everyone who works there. Please find another bank. From what I know, Santander and Sabadell are much better.

They get one star but..

They get one star but only because the counter clerk in Corralejo was so helpful and brought an end to 6 years of dreadful service. The problem, which nobody at BBVA would admit, related to their lunatic password system which linked to my passport number. This might have been fine if nobody renewed their passport and BBVA lopped a random character out of my passport number because it was one character too long! Bunch of clowns!
I don't think BBVA give a hoot and will be truly amazed if anything comes out of this report!

Terrible experience

Terrible experience. The staff are rude, impolite and the young man was even speaking to all the customers waiting inside the bank with an annoyed voice. His excuse was that the bank is short staffed, so the waiting times will be hours…

The old fat lady that wears glasses is incapable of doing her job. After 4 times that I went to the Costa Adeje branch, she did not manage to identify me even though I applied online, so she had one last do which was to scan my docs. Moreover, to identify a new customer is the easiest task in a bank environment!

Rude staff, 0 empathy and the customer service is non existent. After some customers had been seated down at her office, the old fat lady just decided to go for a coffee break instead of dealing with the huge queue of customers in front of her.

Don’t bother to become their customer and pay those incompetents’ salaries and just avoid BBVA, use Santader instead 👏🏻

Appalling

I can’t express how much stress and wasted time this bank has caused. It’s always a swindle, no matter what you do. The bank tellers seem to only know one word, which is “no”. They are rude to every client I have seen them with, particularly with the elderly. NEVER USE THIS BANK

"All banks are the same"

"All banks are the same" - based on this I'm OK with the services that BBVA has provided over the years. There's been a few hiccups - for instance that time my bank manager called me 15 min after I had checked what their ratings and offerings were for a motorcycle insurance while I was logged into my account. She wanted to offer me a loan for a car or motorcycle. I've also had some genuine laughs of their poorly translated website in English. Not everything should pass without proofreading Google translations.
