Is anyone here owed money from this…
Is anyone here owed money from this company. I placed an order in Janurary, a week before they liquidated ( crooks) and I have not heard anything from them. Said it was 10 weeks for delivery so had not been checking. Does anyone know who the liquidator is? What a nightmare... Thanks
Owed £150 after lies. Now in liquidation
Offered a part refund due to a 6month delay on my item, multiple lies and prevarication regarding my item's readiness and delivery from Nick. Confirmed refund had been made by Alex on 20/12/24 by Facebook messenger. No refund ever received. Given the company has now gone into voluntary liquidation but I am unable to find details of the liquidator to file my claim as I have no doubt it won't be on the books. I will be pursuing via my credit card company.
Same experience :(
Same experience here as other reviewers. Placed my order on 25th November 2024 for a cupboard, £689. Was told by Nick in late January 2025 that my cupboard would be delivered w/c 3rd February 2025. Having chased on 5th Feb re my delivery date I then received the email on Friday 7th February notifying they had gone into administration. How can this company, in all good conscience, tell customers their order is on track for delivery and then two weeks later go into administration. It feels dishonest and like they knew. No reply to any emails I have sent subsequently. I am hugely disappointed and I cannot afford to lose this money, it was a really considered purchase that I had to save for. I am sorry for all the other people who are also in the same position.
Company in Administration and money lost
I wish I had read these reviews before purchasing from this company. It's now gone into administration eventhough just a few weeks ago they said my furniture would be delivered in mid March.
I believe they told me this knowing I would lose my money.
Nick should never be allowed another business
I had a dreadful experience last year which resulted in me eventually cancelling the order after weeks of being messed around. I obviously left an unfavourable review on here. Nick messaged me at the end of last year with an offer - if I removed my negative review he would gift me an item up to the value of £800 in an attempt to improve their score and reputation. I dubiously agreed and promptly removed my negative review as promised. I should have known better as they quickly thereafter went into liquidation. A scammer and liar will always be a scammer and a liar. Just feel sorry for anyone who has genuinely lost out to this dreadful excuse for a businessman.
I was also scammed
I was also scammed. Paid £934 for a large wardrobe (cost includes £39 delivery) on 26/11/24. Chased Nick several times who told me the cupboard was wrapped and waiting to be delivered. The website looked genuine and the business was on Etsy so I assumed it was verified. It’s clear that online reviews cannot be trusted. I’m extremely angry and upset. If anyone has any joy speaking to their lawyers or has any tips on claiming compensation please post here.
I really could not give a worse review…
I really could not give a worse review of this company. Do not buy from them. I ordered my cupboard in September in 2024, received it mid-January with a broken key. It’s now mid-February and after countless promises of compensation and a new key, I officially gave up communicating with them and went to my credit card to get compensation. They will lie and promise you will get your money back or that the cupboard is arriving time and time again and not communicate at all. Total bunch of scammers. Should be reported for such awful customer service. Honestly never had such a bad experience in my life!
I have also been scammed by them
I have also been scammed by them. We had the same experience. The marketing pictures of the man and his mother were very deceptive. I spoke to 'Nick' the conman. Comeupance.
I looked into the (faked) address and have called neighbouring businesses who say 'Bayliss Vintage' is not there and never was -
For those who are despairing, you will be covered if you bought on a credit card - possibly a debit card too - raise a retail dispute (there is a form) with your bank -
I would like to raise a query with truspilot too - from where did the glowing reviews come? Why have some of them now been taken down? I relied on glowing Trustpilot reviews when I made my purchase - what about your security and verification processes??
I propose that reviewers get in touch with the BBC consumer programmes / national newspapers to alert consumers to this kind of Fraud and Trustpilot's integral role in it, which needs to be debated. Trustpilot is facilitating fraud
SCAMMERS!!!
SCAMMERS!!!! My elderly parents ordered a cabinet in November - paid 700 pounds. Chased several times and received replies from Nick saying they were waiting for paint to dry but that it looked lovely - my mum and dad were over the moon. Then they were given a delivery date and so moved furniture and sat in all day waiting... It never arrived. Given another delivery date... same again, waited all day, it never arrived. Like another review - told it was wrapped and ready to go, numerous times. LIES - just horrible lies. Then the email to say they have ceased trading. £700 out of pocket, what a horrible thing to do to people who are lovely and trusting. Won't go into details, but enough to say my mum and dad have had the most horrible, horrible year and this was just the icing on the cake. I feel sick to my stomach. Bayliss Vintage you are awful people.
I too have been taken in by these scammers …
I too have been taken in by these scammers, ordered on 1st December promised they would bring it forward to early January, chased several times and received replies from Nick saying its in progress blah blah. Last week I chased again and he said it's wrapped and ready to go, I was expecting delivery this week, that was until I received the email to say they have ceased trading. £600 down the pan, called bank to raise a dispute but doubt I will see my money back, can ill afford to lose that! Robbing bar stewards. EDIT got money back from my bank so raise a dispute
Lesson learnt ......
I ordered a cabinet on October 21st 2024 ..... paid £975 plus delivery upfront...... little contact up to mid December but when I rang I was told little hope for the 8 week delivery which was disappointing but I went with it as had little choice ....
13 weeks later following an aborted delivery date which cost my money I got a new delivery date for 25th January and the cabinet arrived later than planned but did arrive .
I asked for compensation for the 13 week lead time and lost income on the Friday and Nick came up with a figure of £150 which I agreed too .
I've never seen the money and after 10 days of chasing it I now know why ...... following an email saying no longer trading.
I feel very sorry for people left in limbo but I do have my cabinet and I have to say its really beautiful and I'm very happy with it .
I dont know what's gone wrong here but maybe communication is key and people are more inclined to be understanding if kept in the loop.
I didn't trust pilot the company.... rookie error and I now know never to pay up frount again but I'm taking this as a win .
I wish you luck with your orders and I know my £150 has long gone as it was only a verbal agreement.
SCAMMERS
SCAMMERS! I purchased a wooden cabinet on the 4th of December 2024. Delivery was supposed to be after 8 weeks at the end of January / start February. I got an email today stating that the company has ceased trading on the 07/02/2025 and are under legal counsel as they enter voluntary liquidation.

Ordered cabinet late November ‘24…
Ordered cabinet late November ‘24 despite several promises still waiting for delivery. They are now not answering telephone calls or emails. Hope it’s not £689 con.
Avoid at all costs
They lie - we have been waiting and waiting and waiting for a cupboard we bought back in October. They say it’s coming and even give a date but it doesn’t arrive
I m now worried it’s actually just fraud
Do not bother with this company unless you want give money away for nothing
Do you really need it?
Unfortunately I cannot yet review on the quality of the cupboard which I sincerely hope is superb. I will of course update you when it arrives.
Ordered 15/10/ 24 with 6-8 week lead time.
At 8 weeks 22/11/24 requested update and told delivery week commencing 9/11/24 👍
Requested updates 11/12/24 and 12/12/24
Only at this point did I check out Trustpilot!😳
Chases response again and received terse reply from Alex ‘aiming to deliver by 21st’
17/12/24 I requested ETA
18/12/24 reply to confirm delivery 19th/ 20th/ 21st 😅
20/12/24 chasing an ETA for today or tomorrow as previously advised.
21/12/24 replied eventually to say they had closed early on 20th for Christmas and hadn’t managed to get all orders out.
28/12/24 advised delivery 9th, 10th or 11th of January.
7/1/24 Request ETA- reply states delivery will now be 15th which I can’t do. Negotiate new date. Definite delivery for 23rd January. I check in the morning and all is good and shipper will be in touch. At 4pm it has not arrived so I request they chase on my behalf and / or give me contact details …. No response yet.
The question for you is just how much do you need this piece of furniture in your life? Can you afford to hand over that much cash and then have no clue when it will arrive?
Beautiful Cupboard
I have just received my new cabinet and I’m absolutely delighted. It is just what I wanted. I think it is very good value. The lead time was longer than expected but if you are able to wait it is certainly worth it
Well I will have to give a good score…
Well I will have to give a good score because refund came through the next day. They seem to have over committed and did not keep customers in the loop.
