Hired a horsebox. I had it for 3 days. It cost 200 plus 30 waver in case of an accident. Also a 200 deposit refundable upon return if the box was cleaned and full of diesel. Unfortunately as I was returning it on the Monday, I parked it on a carpark at Muncaster. Upon my return I was horrified to find that someone had hit the wing mirror. This had completely smashed and was hanging. To return the box I had to have the mirror taken off. As the waver states accident. SURELY this should be covered under the waver. I am now told that the waver doesn't cover glass. Its the whole mirror and fixings not a windscreen . Advice to others don't bother with the waver . I priced the replacement and its nowhere near 200. There is absolutely no mention of wing mirrors not being included in the waver. In fact the gentleman dealing with it stated that it was different than motorhomes. So what would happen if the side got smashed in and a wing mirror was broken.? So what is covered not much. For other customers looking to hire a vehicle from Barlows. Please read the reply and what is actually covered under this waver. The vehicle wasn't parked in a car park over night. It was parked at my farm for the duration of the time I had the vehicle. This incident occurred when I was returning the vehicle to yourselves. The vehicle was parked at Muncaster Castle car park whilst we called in for a drink. Upon return the wing mirror was off. As I attempted to understand what had occurred. The only explanation , which was pretty vague was that. Sometimes tractors and other vehicles travel through the carpark. This is not on cctv. This vehicle was parked in a safe location and parked for 1 hour . So therefore two vehicles were involved. Obviously if this had occurred at any other time. The vehicle was not safe to be used. I was just happy to manage to return the vehicle by the said time. This vehicle has been locked in my private farm driveway from Friday until Monday am

Hired a fab Equitrek box from Barlows Trailers at Leyland for the second time. Service was excellent and box a dream. Big shout out to Paula for sorting out all the paperwork and getting us on the road. Also to Chris for showing us round and going the extra mile by lending us a much-needed cable. We will be back!

Great people to deal with, we hired a motor home for the first time and Paula took us through everything in detail, she made the whole experience a happy one. We would highly recommend Barlows Trailers, a great company with staff who look after you.

Great experience with Barlow Trailers. I hired a Motorhome for Glastonbury Festival this year. This is the first time hiring a motorhome so I called round a few different companies to get an idea of the average price. I came across Barlow Trailers and they got back to me with a price of nearly half of all other quotes I received. I was little skeptical about this as it sounded too good to be true so I asked why they where so cheap compared to all other companies and she explained that other companies tend to put their prices up on big events but they keep their rates the same. I went ahead with the booking and it ended up being a great experience, all smooth from start to finish. On arrival to pick up the motorhome the lady that dealt with me was great. Explained everything in detail about the motorhome. Will definitely be using Barlow Trailers again.

We recently returned back from a lovely holiday in one of your 4 berth motorhome and from start to finish, the service, the holiday, the vehicle was outstanding.
From picking the vehicle up, we were greeted by a lovely lady who talked us through everything and made sure we were happy before setting off. The vehicle was spotless, had all cooking equipment needed from pans, crockery, utensils , tea towels …
TV had videos installed to help with any queries e.g how to put the water, electric, heating on etc ….
Would highly recommend and thank you for allowing us to make ever lasting memories

Hired a car transporter trailer from Barlow Trailers and couldn’t be happier with the service. The staff were really helpful and made everything straightforward. The trailer was top-notch—tilt bed, electric winch, and in great condition, making loading and unloading a breeze. Overall, a brilliant experience, and I’ll definitely be using them again.

Barlows Trailers are an absolute disgrace! I just received a call from John informing me that my dad, myself, and the rest of our family are banned from their establishment, even though we have spent a fortune there. John had the audacity to call me and inquire about whether my dad had ordered some parts. I told him that I didn't know because my dad doesn't live nearby, but I could ask him. John then accused my dad of upsetting his staff. I told him that it wasn't my problem. And let me tell you, John, your staff has never been friendly whenever I've been there. Apparently, I'm not allowed to have an opinion. John then proceeded to verbally attack me, resulting in me being banned from Barlows. Despite purchasing a new trailer from them, which turned out to be faulty, I was told that I must have somehow damaged it. Tony, one of their employees, spoke to me as if I were a child when I brought it in for inspection. It costs nothing to greet customers with a smile and a friendly "hi" when they walk in! You say your customer service is excellent but clearly this is the exact opposite. I had to end the call as John was getting aggressive. I have never been spoken to like that in my life!

I have no hesitation in awarding Barlow Trailers five stars. We recently purchased a new Ifor Williams horse trailer from them. This is a family owned business which clearly puts the customer first. There were a couple of minor hiccups along the way, however, they went out of their way to ensure that we were completely satisfied.

I placed an order for 2 x ifor williams 506 full length breastbars for my trailer on Sunday 18 feb, explaining I needed them for the following weekend. Called on 19th and they confirmed they were arranging dispatch. Had a helpful discussion about trailers and travelling horses in general and received the breastbars the next day which fitted perfectly. Im very impressed and would happily use purchase from them again.

Superb customer service on a recent very short notice motorcycle trailer hire. Cannot fault the trailer, or the thought and concern giving us help at a very stressful time

Ordered a hitch lock for my trailer, Barlow Trailers were extremely helpful in sorting the correct one out and it arrived the next day. Customer service as it should be.

Just returned from a weeks holiday in a lovely motor home hired from Barlows Motorhome hire. It was our first time hiring a motorhome and the staff were absolutely fantastic from the booking process to the collection and return to the depot. I recently purchased a 42mm original Ifor Williams jockey wheel for my old trailer from Barlow Trailers. This was to facilitate the transport of some stone to our new home. I had a need to unhitch the the trailer while still loaded. My reasoning was that the jockey arrangement would at least be able to unhitch a load that was within the specification of the trailer. Unfortunately when I contacted Barlow, John explained that the original design was not intended for this purpose and hence this was why the central leg of the jockey wheel failed. However this did not stop Barlow Trailers sending me a replacement. John, Ioana, thanks ever so much for your help and understanding. What an excellent service despite my lack of knowledge. A business that cares for their customers with excellent service and advice. Thanks again.

Not great - Ordered parts, wrong parts sent, refusal to replace without unacceptable delays. A web site malfunction blamed on the customer. A Royal pain!

Absolutely fantastic service. Wasn’t quite sure what part I needed for my Ifor Williams trailer. They were able to tell me exactly what I needed and if the part came with it’s own screws etc. The part didn’t include screws but Barlow Trailers included the correct size free of charge. (I think the lovely ladys name was Iona). Prices reasonable and delivery super quick. Will definitely use again should I need more parts and I can’t praise or recommend them highly enough.
