AVOID AT ALL COSTS
The savings rates quoted by Bankinter are quite competitive (for Ireland) but that is where the plus points end. It generally takes Bankinter over a week before they action any application to open an account (whether you have an existing account or not) and the information they request from you is outrageous, e.g. one years' bank statements, copy of your income tax returns.
When you try to move money from one of your existing Bankinter savings accounts, the service is just as appalling - they don't let you even issue a request to close the account or transfer funds until the day the account actually matures and then it takes about a week or more to release funds (meanwhile they pocket all the interest).
It is truly the worst bank that I have ever had the misfortune to use and I would urge everyone to avoid it like the plague until it gets its act together. Its customer service team are useless, and don't waste your time submitting a complaint; their 'dispute resolution officer' (if actually a person - it writes akin to a robot) will just send you a snotty generic letter with no apology They seemingly just couldn't care a jot about their customers. Is it any wonder that 99% reviews are just one star? No such problems with Raisin Bank.
