0 is not an option, my wife had an email saying a credit card has been opened. She did not open it, we checked credit karma to ensure it wasn’t a spam email and it was not so we contact M&S to say it had happened and they told us to call back after the bank holiday weekend. Surely fraud is considered high importance but clearly not and M&S opinion is different. They did not ask for any forms of ID clearly when the person applied or any other verification as they tried with NatWest and they did do the correct thing and contact my wife first. Absolute poor customer service and bank and I don’t even bank with them and can tell you I already wouldn’t bank with them.
Alternatively if you did want a free credit card they don’t check who you are so knock yourself out
Very friendly and proffessional bank. They have a human customer Service and also do have lots of VERY GOOD balance transfer offers.

Spoke to a very strange woman on the 03456005860 number. My card is lost and she said I didn’t exist and sounded like a scam. I called another 0345 number and the next person was helpful but m&s seriously change your cheap call centres!

Generally fine-over use of automated categories meant that it was difficult to identify the one that applied to me. I went for what was the nearest and it was wrong but swiftly rectified and all other aspects were fine

Hugely disappointed by M & S bank. After being ripped of by a car dealer I was hoping I could rely on my credit card provider to set things right. Since February I have received muddled responses, copy and paste replies, phone calls from staff who can barely speak English (my guess is that customer services is outside of UK), errors in procedure setting back the process months, condescending replies and half apologies. Not only would I not use M & S bank again, I wouldn't consider shopping there either.

Marks and spencer credit card dispute team is very dissapointing and unreliable. I have disputed 2 transactions with Debenhams under 100£, because they issued me a credit card note/gift card even when I chose an option for a refund to original payment method-which is my credit card. Stealing money just like that from their customers and in addition to that Debenhams issues gift cards valid only for 3 months. I have explained to Marks and spencer credit card dispute team( Minetta, who reassured me that she will help me with this issue), million times that I didn't chose the gift card option and Debenhams been sneaky and they issued me a gift card but Marks and spencer dispute team took Debenhams side and said that they have even reasonable by issuing me a gift card valid for 3 months, not even 1 year. I will be closing my Marks and spencer credit card as I don't need a credit card company who doesn't protect me even for 100£,never mind thousands of pounds. I never have had such an issues woth Barclaycard. I will better open Amex credit card rather than keeping Mark's and Spencer credit card. Marks and spencer dispute team, you are embarrassing. No wonder, why Mark's and Spencer credit card has got bad reviews on Trustpilot.

I had simple questions: Reward vouchers that had not arrived when due and no gesture of recompense after the company was subject to a cyber attack last year. I wasted almost an hour trying to speak to a human assistant. The call centres were in Africa and the Philipines. Each employee had inadequate expressive and receptive language skills. Worryingly, I overhead at least two other conversations while speaking to the Philippina. I then returned to the chat on the banking app I had previously left open because the response was absent. I received an assurance that two things would be done to mitigate my loss (vouchers and wasted time/money on call). An hour later nothing has happened and the promised email hasn't arrived.
