I don't know where to start
I don't know where to start. The onion slurry is just odd! I usually make my curries from scratch with authentic recipes from an Indian friend however thought that this would be an easy cheat. The heat for a Tikka was insane, my husband who loves his hot curries couldn't even eat it. Would definitely not try again
A "mild korma" that is neither mild nor bears any resemblance to a korma
Where to begin! I've been cooking curries from meal kits for longer than I care to remember, and am always looking for something new to try. So when I spotted Bang's "mild, kid friendly korma" I thought I'd give it a whirl.
Starting by frying a slurry of dried onions and water was odd, but when I was told to make it richer by adding tomatoes I got a bit concerned. Tomatoes? In a korma? But it definitely needed them, as there's only 150ml of liquid in a serving for four people otherwise.
But then came actually eating it. This was a curry, but not in any way a korma. There are no nuts of any kind in the ingredients, for one. And for another I'd just added tomatoes. But the heat! This was one of the spiciest curry kits I'd ever encountered. Mild?! Not in a million years.
I'm sure it's a palatable curry if a spicy, tomato-based dish is what you're after. But it is verging on breaching the trade description act to call this mild, or a korma - it is absolutely neither of those things.
Got a kit as a Christmas present
On Christmas my parents gave me the curry lover gift box, absolutely delicious curries and have had no issues :)
I'm absolutely delighted
I'm absolutely delighted. I've been cooking Indian food from scratch for over 30 years and I'm pretty good. To actually find a curry kit that gives the authentic experience you get from using fresh ingredients is incredible. Cooked the Bhuna kit today with chicken and tomato and it was delicious. I was sceptical at first looking at the dried aromatics but I needn't have worried. Saved me about 45 minutes of peeling, chopping, caramelising and blending and in the end couldn't tell the difference. Well done Bang! One of the best presents I have ever had and can't wait to try another.
Easy to make great taste
Great little packets of curry kits easy to make great taste well worth the money
Fantastic curry kit
Got a kit of several recipes for Father’s Day. Finally got round to cooking one today - did the Dahl and a Madras, used chicken thighs and added some cauliflower.
Super easy to do, took 20 minutes for both, and I let them both sit for a few hours before eating.
Absolutely bloody delicious! Flavour was GREAT. Can’t wait to cook the next one.

Very disappointing customer service and unreliable instructions
After finding a foreign non-food object in one of their products, I reported this to Bang Curry in April 2024. Despite their initial request for photos, which I promptly provided, I have received no substantive response or update. This lack of communication and failure to address a serious food issue is completely unacceptable.
While I have generally enjoyed the taste of Bang Curry's products, their cooking instructions are impractical and misleading. For instance, they suggest using 600 to 850 grams of protein for four portions, yet they don't adjust the water volume accordingly. This results in dishes that either lack flavour or are too watery, which makes following their recipes a frustrating experience.
Given the poor customer service and unrealistic instructions, I cannot recommend Bang Curry. I expected much better from a company that claims to value quality and customer satisfaction.

Update in response to the company's reply:
No, Bang Curry did not send me a detailed response in April. The only email correspondence I could find was their request for photo evidence on 15 April 2024, which I sent to them on the same day.
Their response also failed to adequately address the issue of the generic instructions on most of their products with the gram weight of protein you should add.
Bang Curry's rep is either not fully up to date with the facts or is trying to mislead me and anyone reading this review about how they handled the foreign non-food object issue.

Authentic, quick meals
Love these curries and packs and have previously bought from Amazon. Love the Bhuna and Jalfrezi, really authentic. Would give 5 stars but they need to sort out their systems for orders and dispatch. Reccomend buying the products, they are quick and authentic.
