Avoid at all cost - bought what was said to be a handmade rain drum which is clearly mass produced and nothing like the picture or description. Lesson learnt - check company reviews before being tempted by things on-line. Have now seen from other reviews that this is clearly how they operate.

Complete scam website. Don't trust anything from them, including the lady 'June' who texts you and don't give them any money. If I could rate them zero, I would but you can't.

I ordered 4 bags only received 1 and the quality is nothing like what appears in the photos.
Very disappointing. Would never order anything again from this supplier.

Scam site. I'm so angry they sucked me in with the story of a craftspersons in Tasmania who hand forged these rain drums. I received mass produced rubbish from Hong Kong. I did negotiate a 35 % refund but will be trying to get the rest back through my bank. They are engaging in fraud. You've been warned!

No point in hoping this company will improve - it's purely a scam.
I became a little suspicious when it seemed a long time coming for something made so close to home.
Just some rotten people in USA making money out of our love of the countryside crafts of our country.

I was taken in by a charming article and ordered an owl nest box without checking Backroad Goods. Then I discovered what a scam they are running. So I reported them to my bank and formally disputed the payment. That was 3 days ago and today my bank statement shows the payment refunded in full!

Scam site! Pay lots of money for not as advertised! Don't waste your time or your money

This is a terrible way to buy items that are not as advertised. Carved wood when it's plastic!

I ordered the countdown to Halloween gift for a coworkers's children. I'm so embarrassed because it was advertised as handpainted keepsakes each and every day but all they are is small rubber molds, garbage you could get out of a gumball machine. This place needs to be shut down!

If I could give zero stars I would. It isnt made in Ohio. It's made in China. It's a trick or treat plastic pumpkin bucket, definitely wouldn't stay in your porch. Plus I ordered 2 and only got 1. DO NOT ORDER THIS!!!

If there was a no star rating, I would give it. Add my disgruntled name to the list of dissatisfied customers. Token, inferior goods, and a Hong Kong address for sending product returns, recipient funded, or offering a 25% refund. Predatory.

Absolutely nothing like they advertised and no response from them. Email address for refunds gets sent back as undeliverable! Item described was a hand built Halloween ghost with 7' of wire and ready to just enjoy with a precast pumpkin base. What I received was a 99cent plastic pumpkin basket that looks nothing like the pictures and a bunch of materials to try to make my own version of the product that was supposed to come pre built! Avoid this company!

Ordered and paid for 4 items. Only received 1. Asked for them to follow up. Nothing. Paid over $300 for these products. It is disgusting. Terrible quality and nothing like it is displayed as. Awful quality. Looks pathetic printed and so small. DON'T TOUCH THIS PRODUCT. They are shonks. So disappointing and I am very angry.

Scammed as well - my first time ever ! How ? We hve hedgehogs in our garden , so I bought some hedgehog food from a genuine company on amazon. However this produced a link to a web-site called 'Back-Road Goods' .This was a plausible web-site offering hand-made quality hibernating hedgehog boxes .
However it is a scam company operating in what looks like Hong Kong. Initially I suspect they don't send you anything at all - but if you persist on their late/non-existent delivery they eventually do send you something. This is a poor quality box available from the TEMU web-site for £21. As back-road goods sell for £90 - there is a £70 scam profit in it for them. When you complain they ask you to return it to Hong Kong - at your expense ! - for a full refund - which of cause you will never get. Or you can keep the crap boxes and they say you will get a 25% refund - which of cause you won't get either.
A shameful scam on those who are interested in wildlife preservation.
Hopefully they will eventually lose credit card accreditation - but then I suspect they will just reinvent themselves as a new company on-line.

Do not believe the website, there are no 'artisan' people making handmade rain drums, hedgehog houses or laundry bins in the USA, AUS, NZ or UK!! Cheap tat from China and when you ask to return, even though the website says you can do so for free, they insist you return the goods to Hong Kong. SCAM SCAM SCAM SCAM

The £90 hedgehog box did not meet the specification promised. It is cheep rubish. Wish I had read other reviews before purchase.

I've received two butterfly houses ($94) that were meant to be handmade by a little old lady (I know, seriously, I should've known better). They arrived and look similar to the photo BUT they're NOT handmade, they're cheap, overseas, mass produced CRAP. ITS A SCAM. Look, you could put it in the garden and it could look cute, but for $20 for 2 (and they're still making a profit), not reduced to $94. Also, there's no way this is lasting the test of time. PLUS THERE'S NO GRANNY MAKING THIS BY HAND FOR YEARS... IT'S A SCAM!!! Thankfully I've opened it on day 30 (I hid it away as it's a present), so legally I should be able to get a return. Fingers crossed.
UPDATE: They replied to my request and said I could return the goods at my expense, to HONG KONG. I couldn't resist - my reply was, so they're not a "handmade Australian item?" If they accept my return, they'll refund the item, otherwise they offered 25% refund.
I've lodged a complaint with Fair Trading

This company is not on the up & up my order arrived in complete & not functioning. The satisfaction guarantee was not honored. I implore you the goods are from China not small town America. DO NOT BUY FROM THIS COMPANY!
