Took my money and provided nothing, App never worked, they refused to give me a refund and customer support was too incompetent to figure out what was going wrong
Then they ghosted me

I think Babbel is a very good tool for learning Italian and I particularly enjoy the visits to cities all over Italy. However, for me, I would learn more from these delightful conversations if there were shorter passages in Italian before the explanation in English. By the time this comes, I cannot easily recall the beginning of the Italian conversation !

It's challenging. I find the spoken word by the teachers quite difficult to understand because they seem to run one word into another and it sounds like one long word without sufficient inflections to distinguish the words.

I thoroughly enjoy the small breaks everyday where I get to indulge myself in learning a new language

Babbel has been fantastic for learning Indonesian. The lessons are clear, practical, and surprisingly fun, and I feel like I’m actually making real progress. The app is easy to use, the explanations make sense, and the speaking exercises help a lot. Definitely one of the best language apps I’ve tried.

I like Babbel because it has dedicated grammar topics and explains why a sentence should be written in a certain way. However, it does annoy me when I make a typo mistake or use a word that means the same thing and I get told that I was wrong.

Need more excercises on a grammar topic before continuing to the next grammar lesson. Would be excellent to be availab more daily vocab reviews. Sometimes i get only 2-3 words a day.

The method and implementation are great, but the voice recognition system, although improved, still leaves a lot to be desired. It regularly identifies as errors things that aren't.
There is a recent redesign to the user interphase that changed the way speech recognition works that makes it impossible to correct speech errors, and requires much more clicking than before. Neither of these two changes is a good thing.

I really enjoy the variety of lessons on line plys the photos which help keep you going. The Weekly and annual summaries are also very good. My sole niggle is when I am doing on of the numbered lessons - is it possoible to be automatyically returned to you where you left off i.e. I finished on Lesson 10, Quesyion Five - why can't Babbel take me 'automatically' to Lesson 6 when I log on encore?

I enjoy the variety of language skills Babbel develops and the flexibility in ways of working.

Have bought a subscription to learn Portuguese and by the time I made this review I am already 115 days in learning, so I think I have a very good understanding of the app.
I think this app is way better than others I have tried and worth the money to invest and learn a language you want. The structure of each class is very well organised, e.g. there are classes for grammar or vocabulary, or split by level etc, with daily reviews of previous exercises as well and review of mistakes etc. The exercises are easy and fun and have more realistic context compared to other learning apps, so all these are really helpful.
This is probably more language related, but I would like to have more content though, as it seems for Portuguese you can get up to level B1, plus it would be nice to include the European Portuguese speech as well as is different from Brazilian and maybe different words in some cases. Hopefully there will be more improvements / additions
