Aws is like the worst company

Aws is like the worst company.
The interface is great, but as soon as you need support you will be send from one place to another and they refuse to help. Is now the 4th time in 3 years that I have seen it. Would definitly not recommend them.

I can't believe how poor the support…

I can't believe how poor the support is.

We spent a huge sum of money building an AWS infrastructure that we left dormant a couple of years. After paying AWS 500-1k per month for five years, we lost access to our AWS account and the email associated with the root user. When we explain this to support, we literally get "Sorry you can't login. We can't help you or discuss your account unless you're logged in. Please log into your account and ask for support there". How is that helpful whatsoever? How has such a huge tech company got such appalling service and support? We're likely to lose 100k in DevOps infrastructure because AWS don't respect their customers.

Beware free tier is not actually free

Beware free tier is not actually free, you will incur costs for resources that you cannot see. Even with a deleted account you will still incur costs, and they will not tell you what resources are active and how to remove them. Just use google they at least tell you what it is they are charging you for.

Cannot login nor create an account

I created an AWS account a few years ago but got suspended by using vpn to access it. I tried to recover the account but it showed my email does not have registration, so I tried to create a ticket for help but creating a ticket needs signin.
When I tried to create a new account with my another email, my account got suspended immediately.
Customer support is really poor in AWS.

I cant even log in

I cant even log in. I am in the classic Catch-22 situation where I cannot create a new account because my root email address is already in use, I can't get a verification code because my email address was not found, and I can't get help because I can't login.

They actively allow for cyber crimes…

They actively allow for cyber crimes and with the tracking and use of contact information obtained by hacking into all devices they allow for successful vandalism and forced entries. The depth of the intrusions are unfathomable. This is against minorities and people that anybody at Fusion centers nationwide has a problem with. AWS has solicited to actively help and hack citizens with the supervision of many in law enforcement that either have a rap sheet, history of racism, or criminal proclivities. I have contacted AWS many times about the hackers on my devices to cease and desist. Without privacy I have no hope of representation in a court so cease and desist statements they must feel or know they can ignore. I am disenfranchised as a citizen because of them. ACLu has a lawsuit against Fusion centers for similar activities against protesters and other minorities. What ACLU may not know is that Fusion centers STASI activities would not be possible without AWS. The attacks continue to this date.

Horrible horrible customer service

Horrible horrible customer service. My phone number had changed for my account and there was absolutely no way to talk to them, or even communicate with them, in any way. Even tried calling regular Amazon number and they said they had no way to contact this company and could not give me a phone number. In short, I couldn't access my account at all, but AWS had no trouble taking a hefty monthly charge out of my bank account. As someone else did here, i ended up going to my bank and blocking their withdrawals. Bezos should be embarrassed this this company is under amazon umbrella.

They have a good initial credit package. I used it for my business. Once the initial credits were used up, they started billing. I found their prices quite high. Everything else I liked about their service. It was quite reliable.

We operate multiple servers online

We operate multiple servers online, and recently faced significant downtime due to a DDoS attack originating from Amazon AWS IP addresses. After reporting the issue to AWS and submitting the requested log files, we received no further communication for several days, despite sending multiple follow-up emails. During this period, our servers and entire network remained offline, causing major disruptions.

When AWS finally responded, they requested additional log files, which we promptly provided. However, once again, there was radio silence for days with no meaningful progress.

In the end, we were forced to implement our own solution by blocking all traffic from AWS IP ranges across our entire network. Unfortunately, the lack of timely and effective support from AWS prolonged our downtime and made the situation far worse than it needed to be.

Unsubscribing

Unsubscribing, closing account is an absolute nightmare, surely it's borderline illegal! They make unsubscribing an absolute pain in the backside. Also, it's impossible to unsubscribe from their constant emails! No unsubscribe option at ALL!

They help thieves to stole your money

Somebody stole my credit card’s credentials and bought a service on their website, however, they rejected me refund even though I provided all the card details. They just basically help thieves to launder money.

Charge for deleted services

Charge for deleted services

I have created the account to learn how to use services. It was said that it is free for 12 months.

"Free" was only S3 bucket. Other services were not free at all. According to support center I've deleted them not to be charged, but they appear again.

I highly recommend to screen record all your actions on aws, to be very careful with these "services" and billings. Declare fraud to the bank. AWS behaves as scammers.

I would not recomment its private usage. For corporate users be extemely careful.

I used to think AWS were the best, not anymore

I used to think AWS were the best so moved my servers from another ISP (IONOS) I had many issues with.
Needed to host my own mail server, and didn't realise AWS blocked port 25, requiring a support request to unblock it. Needless to say they refused without giving any good reason. The reasons given:

* A history of violations of the AWS Acceptable Use Policy
The account was only a month old which is the time it took to implement my servers again, so this is nonsense.

* A history of being not consistently in good standing with billing
Again, the account was only a month old in which time I'd had one bill which was paid without issue, so again, nonsense

* Not provided a valid/clear use case to warrant sending mail from EC2
My use-case was: I need to send email! I'm not sure what other use-case is valid.

Obviously a scam to sell you their SES service. Over my dead body.

Go somewhere else! Just not OVH or IONOS.
