Honestly I'm surprised to see so many good reviews. Engine light came on about a day afyer my purchase, handbrake didnt work, lights were missing. Ive been trying to solve the problem with their customer service, its been 3 weeks since i took it to a mechanics they recommended and still no word after 5 followups. The people in customer service give no real help or answers and seem to be trained to say understamding affirmations followed by silence rather than actually fixing things

Everything was perfect from the very first time I clicked on the car I wanted. I got emails for every part of the sale and even when my car had started its journey to me. I'd recommend getting Autohero to do the transfer documents as they made my life easier.

You know when you look to buy something of value in Spain and it always turns out to be, to good to be true, and false advertising, well not with Autohero, the service, process and finally my new car are all more than I expected and I am extremely happy to give this testimonial. I have already referred them to a friend and would definitely buy through them again. Great Job!

Before I ordered my new car from Autohero, the salesman advised that it could be delivered in two days, but as soon as I submitted my order this changed to 9 days. Alarm bells started ringing.
It was agreed that I would collect the car from Murcia on a Friday afternoon. One day before, I confirmed with Autohero that the collection date and time were definitely correct since it is a 4-hour journey for me to travel to Murcia by public transport.
I arrived in Murcia at the appointed time but unfortunately the car wasn’t there. After making several phone calls to Autohero’s call centre, I was told it was still at their main storage facility in Madrid due to "a mistake". No further explanation or apology was provided, and consequently I had to return home via public transport. Total travel time 8 hours plus €180 in costs.
Subsequently, I was told that the car would be delivered to me at my home address, and I spent the next 5 days trying to determine the date and time. Finally, it arrived one week later, 16 days after I had placed my order.
When it arrived, I was happy with the car but unfortunately it was not delivered with all the necessary paperwork, despite paying Autohero a fee of €349 to deal with ownership transfer formalities. Three weeks after receiving the car, I still don’t have a "permiso de circulación provisional" which is supposed to be delivered with the car. I have no idea when (or if) I'm going to get this document which is legally required to drive the car until a permanent permiso de circulación is issued.
Throughout this saga, I have been continually asking Autohero for updates via phone and email, but unfortunately their customer service is as bad as their logistics. Unless I contact them, I hear nothing. Their individual customer service agents are friendly but the company's management system is dysfunctional.
The whole experience has been chaotic, characterised by poor communication, mistakes, delays, uncertainty, extra costs, inconvenience and stress. I would advise anyone against buying a car from this company.

The 8 year old Nissan Qashqai I purchased in July this year is amazing. It's like a new car, well looked after, clean and tidy, and the change of ownership actioned by Autohero. Buying it was relatively straightforward.
And the Autohero chatbot very good compared to most others. The price given for the 2002 Ford Ranger pick up which I part exchanged was fair. All in all a very good and novel way of changing cars .

I had a truly awful experience with Autohero. After picking up my car, it broke down after only 14.4 km (motor failure) – really just around the corner from their location. I was stranded for 4.5 hours in 32°C heat with no food, no water, and no support.
Autohero did not respond to calls for hours. When they finally got back to me, they told me the car needed to be towed to A Coruña for repairs (over 500 km) – which was completely unacceptable. There was no way for me to know what the actual problem was, so there was no guarantee the failure could even be resolved. Huge effort for maybe nothing. I was so upset that I cancelled the contract and returned the car the same night (the towing was arranged by the insurance company, not Autohero).
Just minutes after the breakdown I had written directly to my sales contact (name removed as per request from Autohero), who had been very responsive before the sale. I sent him the error message and the exact location of the car. He did not reply at all, not even a simple “please call this number.” Nothing. Later that evening, while still on duty, he admitted that he had received my email – but gave no apology. Instead, he told me I should come back the next day to handle the return, meaning the car would have stood in front of their office overnight. Unbelievable.
The only reason I could return the car on the same day was thanks to his colleague Antonio, who stepped in, organized the paperwork, and confirmed the return. Without him, I would have had to travel back again from Toledo to Madrid the next day (a 50-minute taxi ride).
The insurance company, not Autohero, arranged the towing. The tow truck driver himself even arranged a taxi for me in the middle of the night from Madrid back to Toledo. Nobody at Autohero – except Antonio – cared how I would get home. It felt like: car sold, after that not our problem.
Since then, I’ve been waiting for my refund. Last Thursday, Autohero told me I would receive it within 7 days. Today, 7 days later, after following up, they admitted they had only just processed it (probably after receiving my email).
Overall, this has been the worst experience I have ever had buying a car: no support, no reliability, no professionalism. Without Antonio’s help, it would have been even worse. Unfortunately, I cannot recommend Autohero at all.
PS money has arrived today (7th of Oct)
PPS response from Autohero 23rd of Oct): much appreciated, good luck with the improvement of your after sales procedures

Autohero made it pretty painless to buy a car. Almost everything was done online outside of 'regular' working hours, which was great for me because as a teacher, I really do not have time to do any of that stuff during the day. Picking up the car was fast and easy. So far, I am very happy with the car, it is as described in the listing.

From start to finish Autohero were excellent and made the buying and collection process super easy. The car was exactly as stated on their website. The only thing that could have been better is the engine bay was very dusty and the windscreen washer bottle was almost empty.

The final chapter of my complaint is that they have just closed the complaint down without telling me or refunding the money they said they would do. I have to go through the whole process again via their website to re-open the complaint. I have emailed them directly but they no longer reply!!! As I have previously said the car is very nice but if you have an issue then do not use this company!!

Bought my new car with ease and I am very satisfied. The car arrived on the agreed date and was as detailed on the web site. I received a call which was a big positive, to go through the car details and the fact that it had two small stone chips, all as the photos.
The only concern I initially had was that I needed to make payment to a German IBAN account when the web page I was buying from was a Spanish site and company. After a few checks I was satisfied and made the payment.

We were helped by Sergio from the Alicante branch. He explained everything clearly and spoke slowly so we could easily understand him and practice our spanish.
The delivery was quick, everyone was done well and we are very happy about how it all went

From ordering the car untill delivery and tradein of my old car it all went pretty smooth. Took a little bit longer to arrive but still fast. Getting hold of an englisch speaking operator o the Phone was sometimes a bit hard. New car was delivered clean and tidy. Checking my trade in car took long in the Burning sun but was worth it. Now im in my 21 day,s and 500km period and sofar so good.
I would use again!

This is my second time using Autohero. I bought my first car with them 2 years ago and could not have been happier - I left a glowing review, since I had been apprehensive given I am English and my Spanish was not very good. I had such a great experience that I decided to both sell my car in part exchange and also buy another car. Once I had valued my car online and ordered my new car, I was initially told I would receive my new car 4 days later and upon delivery, my part exchanged would be collected - happy days. However, 1 day before delivery was expected, I received a call saying that delivery would not be for a further 2 weeks. This was a problem because I had advised my insurance company that my new car was going to be delivered and would need to change car details - I had to then backtrack and advise my insurance company of the opposite - this was not good. Fast forward to the delivery, it took place when Autohero said it would and I realised that Sergio was the same person that brought me my previous car - between my limited Spanish and his limited English, and a smattering of Google translate, we managed to get through the sell/delivery process - Sergio was fantastic and the process was smooth. Sergio explained to me the Provisional de circulation would be sent to me in the post within 21 days, but I would receive a copy via email from Autohero. The next day, I still had not received the document and it was quite stressful because I needed it to prove to my insurance company the vehicle was legally mine and to change insurance to my new vehicle. Was ok in the end, but I think people should be aware of potential delays, either with expectations reference to delivery, or with receiving documents, so as best to prepare. Everything was great except the two issues I have mentioned which at the time, caused me problems. I would give Sergio 5 stars alone, but delays on delivery and having to chase up the Provisional were not ideal

When i was buying the car the sales team was great. Naturally! I bought a 5 year old car with only 15,000kms on the clock. I need the security of a reliable car. Seeing that Autohero run thorough checks on their vehicles I hoped that paying a little extra for that guarantee that there wouldn’t be no problems. However, 20 minutes after collecting my car, I stopped at a gas station to fill up. Once it reached the full level, the fuel was pouring out from under the car. I called Autohero and they were not prepared to come and collect the car and take a look. This was 20 minutes after leaving Autohero. I was literally down the road. In fact the man on the phone hung up on me. It has taken 11 days to finally get the issue repaired. I had to travel a long way from my home for this and then sit for hours whilst the repair was done. The mechanic was very kind and fixed it.
I mentioned to him that there was a rattling sound coming from under the car but I’m not sure if he looked. The rattling is so bad when I’m in the low gears. Seems to be a loose exhaust. So now I must repeat this tedious process again. Really Autohero, how thoroughly do you check the vehicles? Congratulations on your excellent sales process. But after sales is utter rubbish. You have wasted so much of my time. I do NOT jrecommend buying from this company.
As you can see from their response, this is a company that shows zero accountability. THE CUSTOMER SERVICE DID HANG UP ON ME. They sold me a car that had not had the checks that they claim. The mechanic told me that if any type of flame had been ignited inside the car it would have led to horrendous consequences. I am now having to take another day to go back to the mechanic for a second issue.
DO NOT BUY FROM AUTOHERO SPAIN.

Despite the fact that at the end I did not buy the vehicle; the whole process has been transparent and, every person I interacted with, was extremely patient, professional and understandable.
Thank you for such smooth and pleasant experience.

Everything related to that company is pretty bad, they tried to gave me a car which had key lock mechanism just hanging. They didn't provide necessary documents until i asked them several times! On the time i arrived home i realized that thanks to them i didn't have provisional driving permission! The very next day of purchase the car started to show message "Engine fault". Their after purchase department wasn't able to organize diagnostic appointment for more than a week already. And at the end they just told me that i should do it myself. Highly recommend to stay away from Autohero Spain
