£440 Down the Drain – Misdiagnosis and Zero Accountability

I am absolutely shocked and disappointed with the service I received from this so-called “mechanic.” They charged me £440 to replace a fuel pump that didn’t even need replacing. The real issue was simply that my car was out of fuel due to a faulty fuel gauge – something any competent mechanic should have diagnosed before jumping to such an expensive and unnecessary repair.

When I told them that the issue was still there afterwards (obviously, since there was no fuel in the tank), they refused to come back, didn’t investigate further, and took zero responsibility for the mistake. Instead, I was left out of pocket with no resolution and a car that still wasn’t running.

This is not only unprofessional, it’s downright dishonest. Charging hundreds of pounds for a misdiagnosis and then walking away is unacceptable. I would never recommend their services to anyone – if you value your money and want a mechanic who actually knows what they’re doing, stay far away.
