The booking process with Auto Europe was smooth and easy. However, the rental company they partnered me with (Italy Car Rent) caused significant issues during my trip. The vehicle I received from It... See more

Reviews are more useful after picking…
Reviews are more useful after picking up the rental. There’s no reason to demand a deposit when I’ve already paid for super cdw with zero deductible, so there’s nothing you can charge me for even if it’s returned in a sack. $55 a day to rent a small vehicle is outrageous. I’m a travel blogger in the U.S. so we’ll see what my experience is.
Easy to book
Easy to book, fees and insurance are transparent. Prices are better than booking on company sites, and I don't have to search 8 times for the same rental with 8 different companies
Easy to navigate.
Stellar customer service in a world of mediocrity
After struggling for hours to reach Europcar with concerns I had about how to pay tolls on one of France's 'free flow' autoroutes (no one answers the phone, there's no email, no live chat, zilch), I called AutoEurope in desperation. Given that I booked my rental car with Europcar through the company, might someone there be able to help?
And just like that, I was transferred to the VIP department at the corporate offices in Maine, where I found myself talking to a lovely rep who offered reassuring answers to my fear of being slapped with heinous penalties for not being able to pay tolls within the mandatory 72 hours.
Thank you, Ivy -- your professionalism and helpfulness were deeply appreciated.

I always book my vehicle through Auto Europe. Very easy

I found the WEB site to be easy to navigate.
All of my questions seemed to be available already on the site. I have used AutoEurope on past trips to Italy and have had good results in booking as well as conditon of vehicles I rented.
Customer “Service” That Defends the Supplier, Not the Customer
I booked through Auto Europe expecting them to protect my rights if the rental company acted unfairly. Instead, their customer service completely failed to defend me against Europcar’s blatant misconduct:
EuropCar (MXP) did not provide the booked vehicle, arbitrarily upsold me, and used inconsistent, dishonest tactics.
They claimed a Jeep Avenger (a platform-sharing twin of the Fiat 600) was an “upgrade” worth €396.40 — and Auto Europe saw no problem with that.
I provided clear evidence: the agent crossed out the €396.40 on the contract, circled a lower total, but later billed me the full higher amount. Auto Europe still refused to press them.
Worst of all, when I asked if in the future I could refuse such scam upgrades and simply walk away for a refund, they said non-refundable — meaning either accept being overcharged or lose all your money.
Whose side is this customer service on? Certainly not the paying customer’s. I will no longer recommend Auto Europe and will actively warn others about this experience.
Auto Europe is just the best.
DO NOT USE - WORST SERVICE
Customer service is dreadful
Agents are unwilling to help, and extremely passive aggressive.
I was charged multiple times for same reservation, they do not respond to emails. Customer service only open 3 limited days per week. If you get hold of an agent they refuse to help.
DO NOT BOOK WITH AUTOEUROPE.
Very clear description of cars
Very clear description of cars, insurance, and payment amounts. NO big surprises through the easy setup and payment.
Easy to manouver
Autoeurope does not keep its promise
We have been autoeurope for years, but the recent rental experience has made us realize all the so-called customer service is full of words but no action.
Due to some credit card mishaps, we ended up with a new rental arrangement, and the local rental car company provided us with signed documents for us to get the original rental agreement voided and get the money back from Autoeurope. However after initially promised part of the money back, Autoeurope has decided to keep silent, ignoring repeated inquiries. It has been over two months since Autoeurope agreed to refund, there has been no response since?!
Extremely Disappointing
My experience with Auto Europe was extremely disappointing. I booked a car through their service (Voucher № EU22630753), providing all required information, including my flight number so that the rental provider could track any delays.
On the day of the rental, my flight was delayed. Upon arrival at the pick-up point, I was informed that no car would be provided. Auto Europe refused to refund the payment, claiming I was responsible for personally reporting the delay. This raises the question: why do they request flight numbers if they do not use this information to assist the customer?
In fact, the rental service was not provided. Nevertheless, the company retained the full payment, refused to accept responsibility, and even refused to verify whether the payment was passed on to the actual rental provider.
I consider these actions to be wrongful retention of funds for an unprovided service. The company completely dissociated itself from any responsibility and demonstrated absolute disregard for customer support.
I do not recommend using Auto Europe. In any unexpected situation, you will be left entirely on your own, without assistance and without a refund.
