Just overall great

Just overall great. From the service in the store and the delivery till we have been sleeping now for over a week on them and never sleept better. It is a bit more on the expensive side but worth the money.

The worst.mattress.ever

The worst.mattress.ever. We paid upwards of 2000 euros for their top range mattresses. They are supposed to be very ergonomic and comfortable. Unfortunately, there seems to be only one very restrictive "correct" position where these mattresses are comfortable, and in all other situations they are hell to sleep/sit/stay in bed on. For example, I have failed to be in the "correct" position, and hence feel any comfort or ergonomics, when:
- being pregnant and needing to recline
- breastfeeding
- reading in bed
- sitting on the side of the bed
- holding my newborn's hand while he is in the cosleeper
- embracing my partner in bed
- having breakfast in bed
- writing this review
- etc

Getting in and out of the sinking abyss of some stupid sofft zone where your vmbut ends up when you want to stand up, during pregnancy or postpartum, is not fun at all.
The trouble is, you cannot return the mattresses, you can only exchange them for something that even in the shop in the "correct" position was even more uncomfortable.
In comparison, my landlord's 20 year old mattress is more comfortable.
My old cheap IKEA mattresses are more comfortable.
I sometimes think sleeping on the floor might be preferable.
Avoid this brand, itnis not worth the price at all. Unless maybe you are done with kids and partners and sleep like a statue and buy electrical bed raisers for a few more thousand euros, to conpensate for the crappy mattress.
Even then avoid it...

Can I recommend Auping? For sure!

At Auping they took the time for me (and my little daughter lol), delivery and installation was perfect, also after sales was perfect as the 2 guys installing the bed discovered a dirty factory spot on the "topper" and they immediately arranged a service call. Wonderful and very pleasant process all in all.

very comfy!

we bough an amazing bed with a matrace model 2 in the shop. we have discussed everything and received all the help. the bed arrived 2 weeks earlier that it was estimated, for us it was not a problem. the bed was brought on the 4 floor and assembled. we love our new bed, thank you

We bought a king size X and Y mattress

We bought a king size X and Y mattress. You can’t tell the difference on either side. And it was just a really soft top and very hard rest of bed. After a long back and forth they agreed to replace. Replacement is just as bad Nothing close to the one in the store. For the amount of money you pay I think this feels like a scam!

Poor build quality

Poor build quality

I‘m very disappointed with the build quality of my Auping Essential bed. I‘m really surprised about the variety of noises this bed makes. At least for me, one of the key qualities of a bed is the absence of squeaking noises and rattling and not too much to ask for in a bed costing 4000€. It also seems that the noises are getting worse over time. I have the 140cm wide single mattress configuration and experienced the following:

- The spiral under frame is creaking because of the spirals rubbing against each other and their mounting point. It’s almost comical when you sit down on the bed, it feels like sitting down on antique furniture. I guess you shouldn’t be surprised given that auping is advertising it as over 100 year old technology. The under frame is also supported with 4 extra springs in the middle of the frame. These springs also produce a squeaking noise.

- I‘m not using the side tables as well as the middle support bar as I have the single mattress configuration. However, the bed comes equipped with all threaded plates for these components inside of the frame. These plates rattle every time you move in the bed. This can be solved using a couple of plastic washers and some extra screws to lock the plates in place. Why one has to come up with a solution by oneself is beyond me.

- Even worse are the mounting brackets for the head rest though. I think this part has a design flaw. I wasn‘t able to assemble the under frame inside the bed with the small plastic spacers on each side in place. Taking some measurements revealed that the bracket together with the spacers is 1mm thicker than the one used when no headrest is attached. Given that there is a bracket on each side, there is 2mm less clearance to the under frame which makes it collide. That means that it is not possible to assemble the bed without the spacers popping out of the bracket or being destroyed, leaving a very bad first impression. A comment from someone from Auping involved in the development on this would be very interesting and much appreciated.

- Another flaw of the mounting brackets are the small rubber spacers, the under frame is supposed to rest upon. These spacers are only minimally bigger than the the hole used to keep them in place, making the effective support area very small. The rubber spacer is almost squeezed through the mounting hole when the whole weight is put on to it. This compression of the rubber lead to the under frame rubbing against the bed frame leading to yet more squeaking.

Overpromise….

Bought a double X, arrived without notice, very different from the store. One side was so empty or soft that you fell sitting down and the difference made a bumplike feeling. Wake up every day with back ache. Customer service said they did not believe me if you can’t see the bump. Mattress is being returned. Appalling and so disappointing. You guys clearly overpromise and underdeliver.
