Horrible app, completely NOT user friendly and time consuming

As always, zero stars is not an option, so we give the congratulatory one. DO NOT bring AthenaHealth into your office if you are looking for an EHR system which prioritizes function over pretty. They work harder on adding a quarterly roll out than fixing the bugs and the problems, just so they can say they have a "new release!" Sure, you can submit and ticket, and it will go straight to India, but I promise you, there will never be a resolution, or you will get a link that you have already reviewed which does not fix or assist you with your issue. They have no concern for what ails their system or how to fix what is already broken. They say they are "aware and working on" all the problems, but never any resolve. Doctors and providers do not care if staff have to relearn a needless new way to add appointment slots on the "backend" because Athena has run out of items to roll out in their releases - they want their bills and claims to drop to the insurance companies without any hassle! When will that be part of the quarterly roll outs? Terrible, terrible company, and if switching wasn't such a hassle, we would be out!

DO NOT do business with this company. We have struggled with their terrible software and canceled our service months and months ago... they continue to charge us and about each month in spite of many emails, letters, calls, case files opened, they just say they will have a resolution soon. Here we are five months later at $500/month in fees and still no resolution. We are probably going to have to sue them. It's not worth it. Service is terrible. The left hand doesn't know what the right hand is doing. Go to someone more modern and with better service. You'll thank me.

This is a health care company the WILL NOT TAKE CALLS FROM PATIENS!

I lost thousands of dollars with this EMR company. They put claims on hold that should not be on hold.
When my billers try to push claims to the payors Athena would put the claim back on hold based on criteria from Athena not from the payor. Their customer support has deriorated with time becoming more and more inaccessible. I would give them a 3 for the other functions (appointment reminders, patient portal ...) But at the end of the day if the practice does not make any money what difference does it make if you have a nice note or good patient portal with no money to show for it!?!?!?
