I have a few pairs by Alaia and have to say Ash footwear lasts better and made almost as good
Although Ash leather sandals are ready good, PVC boots are horrible like any PVC stuff. Please just make nice leather sandals, stop productPVC crap. Also free refunds would be useful too

Shocking customer service

Shocking customer service. Bought & paid for boots, for the order to be cancelled because they have no stock. Days later the boots are still for sale on the website.

Customer service service leaves a lot to be desired. Avoid.

Edit: I spotted the boots still for sale on the website & informed the company of it. Excuses & awful service.

Hello Maria,

We are sorry to hear of disappointment, our team had emailed you accordingly as the incorrect style was located in the original style you purchased. As a result of this we had to refund your order. Furthermore we can see that coincidently that this very same style was available on the site from a customer return, due to it's popularity this last pair was purchased from another customer fairly on a first come first serve basis. We are so sorry for the inconvenience caused.

HORRIBLE ASH EXPERIENCE!

I was a huge Ash shoes fan but not anymore. HORRIBLE company, HORRIBLE customer service, they make it impossible for you to return or refund, and you end up losing money as you need to pay yourself to send back your package and that can be very expensive for an individual to do compared to sellers who pay in bulk courier companies! It cost me 35 Eurs to send a return from Athens Greece, and ASH had already charged me 25 Eurs (!) to send it from the UK to Greece in the first place, so all in all 55 Eurs lost when other brands and eshops bear return fees themselves. ASHA being so expensive should be doing the same, but not the case. Also: Their trainers sizing is too big so you are doomed to fail even if you choose your standard size (in the Rainbow Buckle Trainers 39 proved to be too big although it is my absolute standard suze, so you ll end up losing money anyhow to return and refund!). Indeed like everyone says, they overcharge shipping compared to all other brands and their eshops, their charge is too much, AND their returns process is extremely COMPLICATED, making customer service horrible. Plus, they charged me VAT inclusive in the order paid by my visa online, and yet they just wrote they will refund only the net price excluding VAT which I have, nonetheless, already paid to them... their shipping costs are also excluded from refund. So from a total charge of Eur 179, they are refunding only Eur 125, and I am now chasing them between emails to get back also the VAT they charged me themselves! What a cheater! Such companies should go down by us the customers not shopping at them ever again. I will personally report them to the relevant UK Authorities for malpractice and especially on charging me VAT yet not refunding it (VAT paid to them directly, NOT to my country's customs here!). Even more so: They have that Glopal company expediting the order, so you need to write to a different Ash email to get an authorization code (!) to send a return, you need to write to a different Glopal email for any other querry you have, and it is ANOTHER (a 3rd!) email that Glopal writes to you from, to which you cannot reply! I wonder who is the "genius" E-commerce Manager at Ash to have come up with such a horrible process and I also do wonder if ASH CEO is aware of the mess and chaos created under him, impacting us the customers so negatively! ASH your system is so deceiving and crooked that you are an absolute disappointment. I feel extremely cheated but also exhausted from having to be bothered so much to deal with you and waste so much money on you for zero reason whatsoever! Your strategy is so wrong and so so very cheap that it is a disgrace! NEVER again!

Lily is absolutely right . I experienced the same issue with this company. There website emphasizes any import taxes and duties are calculated . I was charged 48$ for shipping duties and taxes and I had to pay another 78$ for custom clearance.
I contacted their customer service requesting for some credits they refused to do so. I could have purchased the same shoes 128$ cheaper in Canada. Stay away from this company

Hi Lily,

Thank you for your feedback,

We'd like to clarify that the $50 shipping fee is what we charge to cover the transportation of your order from our warehouse to Canada. However, the additional $78 is for customs duties imposed by the Canadian government, not by our company. These customs fees are standard and mandatory for international shipments and vary by country. By law you would need to pay these charges.

We understand that these charges can be unexpected and apologize for any inconvenience caused. Our goal is to provide transparency about potential costs, though we recognize that customs fees can sometimes be a surprise.

Thank you!

Shocking customer service....

My hubby Bought me 2 pairs of sports shoes at Gallerie lafayette, Paris in August for my birthday. When we got back to our accommodation a few hours later, I put one shoe on to adjust the laces. As I pulled both the shoe tongue and the elastic loop up, the elastic loop snapped.
We took the shoes back. Gallerie lafayette apparently could not do anything for us but to email Ash with my claim. Ash replied and denied it is a quality issue. Neither Gallerie Lafayette nor Ash have resolved the problem. I am now having to take the shoe to get it repaired at my own cost.
I will no longer buy your shoes and do not recommend to others. The price you pay for a "supposedly high quality shoe brand" with exceptionally poor after sale customer service is just not worth it. You just don't give a toss about customer service.
Extremely Disappointed with Gallerie Lafayette in Paris too for not doing their best to solve the problem, particularly when it is a high end department store well known to the rest of the world. I was not just asking for refund, but for a store credit if refund was not possible. So options were given to them.
I am certain both Ash and Gallerie Lafayette have breached the EU consumers guarantee act, as advised by some individuals.

Harper boots fell apart at sole

I bought the harper black boots a few months ago. After wearing them 6 weeks, the sole started coming apart and the heel material gave way to reveal the white plastic under it. I had to take pictures to send them back, which was a big hassle and had to pay to have them sent back too. In the end they resent some new ones, only to another place where I couldn't pick them up in time, they got resent back to ASH who refunded me on a card I no longer used, hence I lost 169 quid as that was an old account and no way of accessing the money now. I am very shocked more than anything of the quality of the product of ASH for the price, I think they used to be good but must be going bust and very Chinese poor quality made boots. I am also NOT IMPRESSED AT ALL with their customer service. They wipe their hands off you. AVOID AT ALL COST!!!

Fantastic shoes and very fair policies

Fantastic shoes and very fair policies,
I can't believe the number of reviews talking about not having free returns! It's not a charity for heavens sake.

The boots are of good quality leather and my last ones from them lasted me about 6 years!

Returns policy horrendous

Extremely disappointed in their customer service. Purchased trainers online from their website and emailed to return after 27 days. Told I couldnt return as I bought them on the 20th of December and only had until the 13th Jan to return. This was my first purchase for my wife but will definitely be the last. Never experienced this from a company before. Every other company I have bought from online are always so accommodating when returning. Stay clear in my opinion

Ash Footwear

Purchased an order on ash fur zip boots in March ready for when the winter approaches.
Have recently worn the boots about 4 times now. However on one boots the leather has creased terribly. I would not expect it to do this after 4 times of wear. Sent email to Ash but they are saying its wear and tear- what after 4 times of wear??? very expensive boots. Took ages for a response. They do not answer their phone goes to a full mail box. I even offered to buy another pair at a reduced price I love the style. Terrible customer service.

DO NOT, NOT, NOT BUY FROM ASH FOOTWEAR - BUYER BEWARE!!

I bought trainers from ASH footwear and they came up enormously LONG. They were not a size 39, more like a 40 or even 41.
I emailed them. They confirmed in writing,
"YES they do come up GENEROUS" (means long)
and also confirmed other customers had had same problem!!
But NO FREE RETURNS LABEL even though they just admitted it was their production problem.
Also no review facility so customers can't warn each other before we buy their rubbish sizing.
They are just conning us out of money when they KNOW, yes they KNOW they will not fit us but want to get rid of the stock with no care for customers. £££££ for them.
Then we have to PAY TO RETURN THEM.
CON CON CON. A decent company would pay for their faulty produced goods return.
I see other people on Trustpilot have had ash footwear come up much larger than standard sizes- same as me.
JUST DO NOT BUY FROM THEM.
FIND SOMETHING NICER THAT WILL ACTUALLY FIT FROM ELSEWHERE AND YOU WONT NEED PAY FOR RETURN.

As mentioned by someone else on here…

As mentioned by someone else on here bought the very expensive buckle boots on 19th January and by the end of April I noticed that the white sole was coming away from the boot. Emailed and was asked to send photos which I did to be told that there was nothing they could do as it was deemed general wear and tear. 3 and a half months old and probably worn for a day a week if that and that damage is deemed as general wear and tear! A pair of £45 trainers that I wear every day for work have lasted me longer! Disgraceful, really think twice before parting with your money.

ASH Footwear offers NO customer service

ASH footwear appears to be made of high quality materials and superior workmanship. But be warned, despite the relatively high cost of their product, they offer absolutely no customer support unless you purchase directly from ASH.

I was gifted a pair of beautiful knee high ASH boots a couple of Christmases ago. My grandmother purchased the boots at Saks. This particular style of boot has 2 zippers. The first time I wore them, I had issues with both zippers on one of the boots. One zipper came completely apart, and the other got stuck. The other boot had no issues. I contacted ASH numerous times by phone and email. The "customer service" person explained that they have no customer service for any of their products bought through a retailer. He directed me to Saks. I contacted Saks, who stated that they could not help without a receipt, and suggested I contact ASH since it was clearly a production issue.
I spent hours trying to get some help from ASH. I wasn't even looking for my money back. I was hoping for repair or exchange or credit toward a different boot.

Most companies who sell high end products are eager to resolve any product defects. In my research, I found that there were many others with the very same boot, who experienced the same issue with the zippers.

ASH outright refuses, and in fact denies they even have a customer service department to address problems with products that are purchased outside of an ASH store or the ASH website.

Perhaps if they aren't willing to support their own products sold through major retailers, they should sell exclusively from their own stores.

I can't even say how their customer service is if you buy directly from ASH. Based on my experience with the very dismissive tone of their employees, I have my doubt that they would be helpful in any way. But they claim that is the only way to even discuss customer service issues.

ASH boots and shoes are super stylish and may generally be well made. They are also marketed as a luxury products. But they are the only luxury brand I have dealt with who absolutely will not stand behind their product.

If you don't have hundreds of dollars to throw away, find a company who cares about customer satisfaction and product performance.

White trim has come away from sole within 6 months.

Not even 6 Months old and the white trim around the sole has come away from both shoes on my virgin buckle trainers. Customer service told me as this was not within the timescale of the manufacturing faulty policy and they couldn’t help me. For the price of them, I Won’t be buying them again. ☹️

In my experience…

In my experience, ash footwear was brilliant,

I ordered the ASH MAXI Boots in Cream Nylon and Leather for my girlfriends birthday,

They came within 2 days and arrived just in time, they fit perfectly as I was told by customer services to order a size up, you were right !

Thanks for your time and I hope you start getting some better reviews soon, you deserve it !

No way to contact this company. They don't reply.

My problem seems to be a common one. I want to return one pair of boots out of an order of 3. I am required to contact them for an authorisation code. The phone number goes straight to voicemail. The mailbox is full -no doubt from other people requesting the same. I have emailed twice. No reply. I have messaged them on Instagram and Facebook. Not sure if this company is going under as all recent reviews are the same. To make things worse, returns are at the customer's cost. WHo does that these days? Every other retailer I shop with has free returns.

TERRIBLE RETURN POLICY

They do not offer free return for the online orders which is quite rare in 2021 and is was very sad for me to pay £13 postage fee to return an item which did not fit

Complicated process to return items

Complicated process to return items , you need to contact them, wait for a return number, fill a extensive form correctly, pay for return postage ( in my case over £11 to post the pair of shoes back) and now, after 2 weeks the item was returned still haven’t got my refund !
Pair of boots were extremely large, like 2 sizes bigger than they should be… so I wouldn’t recommend to use their website. Not buying again myself.
