Questionable Vendor, Questionable Materials

Informative Review on Blue Lotus Seed CO2 Oil Experiences
Aromology: A Dubious Experience
Product Quality:
I recently purchased Blue Lotus Seed CO2 oil from Aromology, a vendor with a broad catalog appealing to perfumers. Given the rarity and lack of public demand for this oil, I approached the purchase with caution but trusted the vendor due to previous satisfactory transactions. Unfortunately, the oil I received was disappointing. It had an unpleasant aroma, reminiscent of ylang ylang and fennel, and evoked memories of the screeching green tea notes found in old spa scent pods. This was far from the unique, subtle fragrance I expected.

Customer Service:
Upon raising my concerns with Aromology, I was met with a dismissive response. They assured me that other customers had no complaints and implied that my dissatisfaction was an outlier. This reaction felt insulting, as if my expertise and experience in perfumery were being undermined. This encounter left me questioning the authenticity and quality control of their products.

VioletGlassForever: A Trustworthy Source
Product Quality:
In contrast, my experience with VioletGlassForever, an established American vendor known for reselling European and Natural Liberty oils, was vastly different. Their Blue Lotus Seed CO2 oil was a viscous black liquid with complex nuances. It featured nutty and cherry fennel notes with an inkish undertone, making it a valuable addition to oriental perfume compositions. This product met and exceeded my expectations, highlighting the vendor's expertise in sourcing high-quality, authentic materials.

Vendor Reliability:
VioletGlassForever's long-standing reputation and commitment to quality sourcing instill confidence in their products. Unlike Aromology, this vendor's offerings are consistent with the high standards expected by experienced perfumers. Their ability to source genuine materials sets them apart in a market where authenticity can be questionable.

Industry Insights and Caution
Sourcing Authenticity:
The disparity between my experiences with Aromology and VioletGlassForever underscores the importance of careful sourcing in perfumery. Middleman retailers, like Aromology, often resell oils without the capability to validate their authenticity. This practice can lead to perfumers unknowingly purchasing duped or inferior products. The perfumery community, including platforms like Ouddict, has echoed similar concerns about Aromology, further highlighting the need for caution.

Conclusion:
My experiences with Blue Lotus Seed CO2 oil from two different vendors reveal significant contrasts in product quality and vendor reliability. VioletGlassForever stands out as a trustworthy source, providing authentic, high-quality materials essential for perfumery. In contrast, Aromology's questionable product and dismissive customer service suggest a need for vigilance when purchasing from middleman retailers. Always ensure your sources are reputable and capable of verifying the authenticity of their products to maintain the integrity of your perfumery creations.

They also have other materials that are questionable like Night Jasmine which they claim is steam distilled. Theres no such thing as steam distilled Jasmine flowers unless you like burning the delicate petals during extractions. That is why they're mostly solvent-based extractions or the occasional Co2.

I would not trust this vendor to provide reliable products. I ask for people that come across this review to buy from similar shops like HermitageOils.com which is much more reliable and have a good standing.
