Beware: What You Pay For May Disappear Later
I’ve been an Aromahead student for years and originally chose the school because of its integrity, accessibility, and student-centered approach. The founder, Andrea Butje, built a beautiful program rooted in care and transparency. Sadly, that spirit seems to be fading.
Since the new management took over and moved the school to a new platform, key features—like the internal course search—have been removed without warning. This was a core part of how many of us learned and applied the content. It wasn’t just a “bonus,” it was essential. Now, they’ve introduced a separate Component Database with similar functionality but locked it behind a $750 upgrade or enrollment in a higher-tier program.
When I raised concerns, I was told repeatedly that a new search system is “in development” but was never given a clear timeline or even a preview. The responses felt vague, dismissive, and more like a way to pacify than truly address the issue. There's no acknowledgment of the value that was lost for existing students—only a hard boundary around their new pay structure.
This shift has left me disillusioned. Aromahead once felt like a school that truly cared about its students. Now it feels more like a business focused on monetizing what was once integrated into the learning experience.
If you’re considering this program, be aware that what you see today may not reflect what you’ll actually get over time. I hope they find their way back to their original mission—but as of now, I can’t recommend them in good faith.
