Not Recommended

I subscribed to ARN Financials for approximately six months and paid PKR 147,000 in advisory fees with the expectation of professional guidance, capital growth, and risk management.

To be fair, ARN does provide regular research reports, market updates, educational videos, webinars, coffee sessions, and ongoing communication with subscribers. The team clearly puts effort into research and investor education.

However, at the end of the day, investors subscribe primarily to grow and protect their capital. Unfortunately, my actual experience did not match the advertised model portfolio performance. Several recommendations had already moved significantly or were near upper lock when shared, making it difficult for ordinary subscribers to enter at the prices assumed in the model portfolio and achieve similar returns.

More importantly, despite following the service for six months, I remain below my initial invested capital and am not even at breakeven after accounting for both investment performance and the PKR 147,000 advisory fee.

During the major market decline from around 180,000 to 147,000 KSE-100 points, I expected stronger capital protection and more proactive risk management. However, the recommendation to move partially into cash came only after substantial market damage had already occurred.

As a result, after six months as a paying subscriber, I have lost capital rather than grown it. While the educational content and research may be valuable to some investors, my personal experience as a subscriber did not deliver the level of capital growth and protection that I expected from a professional advisory service.

My experience with ARN Advisory has been extremely disappointing, and I would strongly warn people to think carefully before paying for their services.

In my opinion, ARN Advisory is one of the worst advisory services I have come across. Their attitude toward clients is not professional. They do not seem to welcome criticism, even when it is constructive. Instead of listening to feedback, they appear to take negative comments personally and try to silence people who question them. They are lotting people money that's my opinion and their target audience is only high network individuals its not for people with 1M or 2M PKR

One of my biggest concerns is that their team appears young and relatively inexperienced when it comes to real market cycles, crisis management, and practical investing. Many of their calls, in my experience, have not performed well. When clients challenge their decisions or ask reasonable questions, the response is often defensive rather than professional.

The most concerning part is that they advise people to invest in certain stocks, but it is not clear whether they personally invest in the same recommendations. That raises a serious question: if they do not have confidence in their own advised shares, why should clients risk their hard-earned money?

Their performance during market crises has been very poor. Response time is weak, guidance is unclear, and clients are often left confused at the exact time when proper advisory support is needed the most. For a service charging more than PKR 325,000 per year, this level of support and quality is unacceptable.

In my view, their returns and advisory quality over the past year have not justified the fee at all. A person with basic market knowledge, some common sense, and free or low-cost learning from YouTube, social platforms, and financial communities may be able to make better decisions without paying such an expensive fee.

Their investment masterclass is also not worth the money in my opinion. The value delivered does not match the high price. It feels heavily marketed but weak in practical value.

Another issue is transparency. Critical comments on their posts appear to get deleted when they do not suit their narrative, especially comments from people questioning the performance and value of their advisory group. This gives the impression that they are more interested in protecting their image than addressing genuine client concerns.

A very disappointing incident happened during one of their monthly calls. A participant raised a valid concern that he had been advised to sell or trade shares at a loss and that several previous calls had also resulted in loss-booking. Instead of responding calmly and professionally, Abdul Rehman Najam reportedly became angry and asked the organizer to mute or block that person. In my opinion, this is a very poor way to handle a paying client’s concern.

I also feel uncomfortable with the fact that they may have high-net-worth clients with portfolio sizes of PKR 10 million, 20 million, or 30 million plus. When an advisory has influence over such large portfolios, they should be extremely transparent, responsible, and careful with their calls. If they are not personally investing in the same advised shares, then clients have every right to question whether the advice is truly aligned with their interests.

Overall, I do not recommend ARN Advisory or their masterclass. Their fee is too high, their crisis handling is weak, their response to criticism is poor, their value for money is not there, and their attitude toward clients is disappointing. In my opinion, people should save their money and learn investing through more transparent, affordable, and independent resources instead of paying such a large amount for an advisory service that does not deliver the expected value.

ARN Financial Advisors is a team of…

ARN Financial Advisors is a team of dedicated, research-driven, and highly skilled professionals. Their approach focuses on helping retail investors evaluate sectors and companies for investment, and they do this in a way that’s easy to follow yet firmly rooted in solid research and logic.

They take what’s often seen as a complex subject—business analysis—and break it down into simple, practical steps. They show how a basic understanding of any company can be turned into a small, manageable set of assumptions that help identify potential investment opportunities. As an analyst myself, I truly appreciate how thoughtfully and prudently they do this.

One of the things that sets them apart is their willingness to share credible sources of information with students who are just starting out. Many research hubs either don’t share this kind of core data and methodology or charge a premium for it. ARN Financial Advisors, however, believes in full transparency and in empowering their students to think and work independently.

Their philosophy is clearly about building the skills of their students so they can make sound investment decisions on their own. They provide everything in one place—research materials, data sources, and calculation templates—making it a complete learning experience. As someone who has attended their classes, I can’t thank them enough for the depth of knowledge they’ve shared and the lifetime support they offer even after the sessions end.

The team’s expertise is matched by their continuous learning mindset, which keeps them at the top of their game. They are generous with their knowledge, patient with beginners, and genuinely humble in their mentoring style. Their passion for the subject and commitment to their students is truly inspiring.

A Valuable Learning Experience at ARN Financials AGM

I recently had the opportunity to attend ARN Financials' Annual General Meeting and Investing Masterclass held in Karachi.

The session spanned approximately five hours and covered a broad range of topics — from personal finance to equity investing — delivered in a structured and engaging manner. What stood out most was the effort put into audience engagement: the Q&A session allowed participants to seek clarity on various financial matters, and the team responded with practical, well-informed answers.

The overall experience was positive. It’s refreshing to see financial institutions not only promote their services but also invest in public education. Events like these play a vital role in improving financial literacy and building trust with clients.

That said, a few tweaks to pacing and session length could make future events even more impactful.

Profit in bull market is not achievement

I have decided to take advisory services after watching some videos of abdur rehman..he has good knowledge and do alot of research..but not satisfied with his team..most of them are youngster who have not experienced market ups and down..during video sessions you can feel their immaturity (not all) ,you can just judge their immaturity from their answers.so arn must look into this point..as a beginner to this community ,i have not been guided properly to build my portfolio..i have been asked to just follow this portfolio based on videos which were prepared 6 months old..as a result i build my portfolio on higher rates and my portfolio is negative..later on arn is asking to shift to other stocks while i am stuck in their previous portfolio on higher rates,,and also you will not get any reply from him for example when he txted to shift from one stock to other,i ask him shell i sell in loss to move to your recomended stock,,and no reply from him..so you have to rely on his youngster team members..atleast for new comers while building portfolio they should give special attention so that he can build portfolio and come onboard with other members because some is investing his 40 to 50 million based on your advice..
2ndly 50 % returns in bull market is not a big thing..during bull market every thing will go high as we have seen after corona when market was on bull run..during these time alot of wattsapp group also claims such returns ..i will observe them for next 3 months and will take next decision..
i have edited my comment after watching a disappointing reply from team member, instead of taking it as constructive criticism and looking to solve the issue..they just responded in reactive mode

Reply from ARN Financial Advisors

Thank you for acknowledging the hardwork that we put in our knowledge and research, and we appreciate your feedback, kindly allow us to chime in and respond to each of your point raised in details

The team does not initiate any calls for any of our clients, the calls are all initiated by Abdul Rehman himself, and they are communicated to every individual client at exact same time by our team, there is no involvement of any of our team member in the process of deciding what to buy and what to sell. in terms of reasoning, a detailed message is sent against all our buy and sell calls on why the decision was made.

We take great pride in each and every member of our team and we could never ask for a better team.

The statement that you were not guide by our team to construct the model portfolio could not be farther from truth, a detailed onboarding video is made available which has complete instructions for onboarding process, which all our clients follow to construct their model portfolio, there is no reason to run an advisory if we can’t simply do the first basic step for our clients, so not doing that does not make sense, the responsibility however to follow those details and take action lies on the client himself.

We are not allowed to buy or sell on your behalf and we don’t provide brokerage services, individual account handling is not a part package you are enrolled in so the client has to show some effort and take action themselves.

A direct whatsapp message communication with ARN again is not a part of your advisory package, you are enrolled in a 6 month retail package and we suggest you read what the package offers on our site again, If you are looking to get a dedicated WhatsApp message service, we suggest you look for value package instead, the terms of both are clearly mentioned.

We do a monthly zoom call where you have all the time to directly ask your questions with ARN, we have done 3 zoom calls since you have been enrolled in the package and that gives you ample amount of time to ask your questions directly from ARN.

We are not here for bull or bear markets, we invest in what we fully understand and we only buy and sell based on concept of best investment, our both model portfolios have beaten market since inception by a large mark and we have hundreds of happy customers.

We suggest you to get a bit proactive in constructing your model portfolio so you can also enjoy those returns.

Constructive criticism

So I think I was encouraged to invest all of my liquidity in the stocks in December when the bull market was going crazy. The reasoning I got was that we've seen that you shouldn't sit on cash in a bull market. I guess the advising team has a bias as it has not experienced a down cycle yet. So I guess we shouldn't do that in the future and keep some room to take advantage of market corrections. Secondly, I was given the same portfolio as people who entered 6 months ago and I had to book loss on multiple calls because the team was insistent that there is still upside. Yet, the same team asked to sell them off stating the opposite 15 days later and asked as to sell it off. This is a major error and I saw no acknowledgement of it despite this issue being pointed out by various participants. The advidlsors must recognize that although there is knowledge asymmetry between them and the people who they advice, they shouldn't be adamant after making a mistake. I'd much rather appreciate a team that is flexible in terms of admitting their mistake and learn from it. This would increase my confidence in the future. Lastly, the advisors seem to be inspired by Mr. Warran Buffet, but seem to forget that his idea is to buy a company and not sell it for at least 3 years. So either your analysis was wrong, or your review process is flawed that we were asked to buy a stock in the first week of December and then sell it after 15-20 days. There are a lot of lesson here, please learn and improve as I want to remain bullish on your firm in the long run. But if you don't, there will be someone who will copy your business model and simply do better and win.

ARN Investing Masterclass

The knowledge imparted in the Investing Masterclass is superb. If you have a knack for developing an understanding behind Pakistan’s booming businesses, you’ve landed in just the right spot. Team ARN is doing an awesome job with a wonderfully constructed course, with quality research and reading material dispensed to the participants. The recorded lectures are apt and are a treasure while the Q&A sessions last until all questions are answered. You also get to join a great Alumni Community. Once you take this course you start thinking about the “business” rather than the “stock” which is just an instrument.

The investing masterclass takes you on a rich journey enabling you to understand the corporates like owners, introducing you to a solid framework of investing while building your capacity to analyze the business efficiently. Abdul Rehman’s understanding of the industries is superlative, and his delivery of fundamental analyses is excellent. The way he makes you understand rather difficult concepts in a digestible way is not anybody’s job.

It’s a bit of a longshot, but mark my words, these guys will become the Berkshire Hathaway’s of Pakistan in times to come. Along with another wonderful initiative of financial literacy like Sarmaaya, these folks will change the investing landscape of this country. Bravo Team ARN!
