Arbtech were able to accommodate a fairly urgent THREATS tree survey within days of my request.
Fearghus carried out the survey, equipped with the correct equipment, professional with the customers and provided some sound knowledge and advice.

The report was sent back to me the next working day providing the detail required.

I will be using Arbtech services in the future.

Really great service from Jade Lemm and her colleagues at Arbtech. I'm a "self-builder" with absolutely no experience of the Biodiversity Net Gain process and they have been extremely helpful and patient all the way. Would recommend without hesitation.

The Arbtech team have been fantastic to work with, they have turned around Bat Surveys and Arb Work for us in record time, I honestly can't recommend them enough in terms of speed and also the quality of the work that is produced!

For context, I'm a Developer and wouldn't go anywhere else for this work.

In order to progress planning permission to replace the roof of our listed property an ecology report among many other documents was required.

Arbtech carried out a Bat Preliminary Roost Assessment, which was inconclusive followed by a conclusive Bat Emergence and Re-Entry survey at a later date.

The BERS was performed by three surveyors over the course of two hours on a warm, dry, May evening. Other than the infa-red light from the various cameras at locations around the property perimeter, we would not have known the team were there.

We found the Arbtech team to be responsive, providing prompt, knowledgeable, professional and friendly service at reasonable cost.

We would use Arbech again. Its a shame they've haven't expanded into the business of producing heritage statements and architectural drawings to further assist with our local authority planning permission discovery.

Would we recommend Arbtech? Absolutely.

The team who were dealing with multiple surveys were very responsive, communicated well and the technical surveyors were very good, fast acting and provided surveys upon completion.

I have worked with Arbtech since early 2020 and have never been let down once. Not only is it in my opinion, the best at what they do around, the employees and especially owner, Robert, are second to none. We have all had a brilliant professional working relationship and since working with them, we have delivered several sites during planning and construction, our most recent ones being Viveash Close and Cut Heath.

Working with them as a developer is always fun as they are solution led and you can confidently submit their reports to planners with little to no feedback at all.

Mackenzie Homes will be working with Arbtech for a long time in the future too. Unfortunately, I have moved on but the remaining team hold them in high value as I do.

Hopefully they venture out to Saudi Arabia soon and we can deliver some exciting projects here now!!!

We utilise Arbtech for a large number of surveys across the Country - Preliminary Ecological Appraisals, bat surveys, newt surveys as well as habitat classification surveys and Biodiversity Net Gain calculations and they have always been great and communicating and pragmatic in their approach!

I needed an urgent PRA carried out as a last minute planning condition. Not knowing what to expect my, architect contacted Arbtech who were prompt at arranging a survey and I met Michelle on site. She was prompt, polite and very knowledgable the whole experience was an education for me and very interesting. Thank you for your time and experience.

Fantastic service. I needed a range of tree surveys, starting with a BS5837 survey. Everything went smoothly, from the initial quote to the final report. Matt was very knowedgeable and answered all my questions when he was on site. The final report was detailed and easy to understand. I'd definitely recommend Arbtech.

Certainly wouldn't use them again. My partner had to reinstruct a second company as Arbtech refused to complete their work.
They missed a small area from their survey (which was needed). It was begrudgingly amended by the employee, though they then refused to carry out the second part of the survey or even to deal with her at all.

Staggeringly uncalled for and unprofessional. We've never encountered anything like it before or since.

She ended up having to pay twice for the same survey.

In summary our brief documented on an email was a bat assessment for house and building area and the outbuilding wasn’t surveyed. When asking for a reduction on the bill for the part that wasn’t surveyed this was refused. It took two months..
The explanation was that they took house and building to mean house and gardens. (If we had meant gardens we would have written gardens not building.)
After several civil correspondences this was the reply.
“This has been thoroughly investigated, and we have nothing further to add. We surveyed what we were told to survey. We will not be commenting further.”
The cost of the assessment was a £1000 and I just think this treatment is wrong, to be cut dead.
When escalated to the chief exec whose profile says that his specialist area is “exemplary customer service” this got passed to the Office manager at a second prompt. On the day of talking to the office manager we received a final demand for the invoice "before being sent to a debt collectors" . Apparently this was a mix up but intimidating nonetheless.
Again the CEO subsequently refused to offer a discount. They did offer to come and survey the outbuilding FOC. but after 2 months , no report , umpteen calls, 20 plus emails and texts I’m done. All I wanted was money off for the area that wasn’t surveyed. I think that is fair, you can decide for yourself .
Seeing that the last official correspondence are threatening to go to debt collection if I do not pay then I have no option but to pay, as I can not afford the legal fees to contest it. And of course they don’t issue the report unless you pay up. It reminds me of parking tickets, the price of contesting it is just too high and therefore you ultimately back down.
You can make your own mind up as to whether you would use them or not, this was so easy to avoid. All I wanted was money back for the area that wasn’t surveyed. Not unreasonable? This is an expensive assessment of £1000 for an initial assessment and for the sake of £100 or so , this is what they consider to be "exemplary service" . Ps Clare. Was the last person we spoke to and was very polite but was unable to change the CEO’s mind who said that was his final offer.

I had a disappointing experience with Arbtech. Despite initially booking a Pat survey through their website, I encountered several issues throughout the process. The service was subpar, with the surveyor lacking professionalism. Additionally, I was shocked to discover hidden costs, as I was pressured into purchasing unnecessary additional surveys at exorbitant prices. It's worth noting that Arbtech wanted me to do two extra surveys, whereas I found another reputable company that completed the job for less and without requesting additional surveys. When I attempted to address my concerns with the company, I was met with dismissiveness and threats of legal action. Overall, I cannot recommend Arbtech due to their poor communication, unprofessionalism, and unethical business practices.

Great communication & services from a professional team

Really shady company. Arbtech produced a PEA and Bat Survey which my local planning authority have deemed "doesn't meet best practice." After researching the survey that should have been provided, I wholly agree with the planning authority! The report provided to us doesn't meet the most basic requirements of a PEA. I've asked for a refund only to be met with a discriminatory and condescending complaints policy which suggests that Arbtech will ignore complaints completely if they don't feel like responding! Ask for the complaints policy yourself before committing and see how it makes you feel about their respect for their customers
