South America and Antarctica

Our 33 day trip was amazing and ticked many boxes. The tour guides were excellent and itinerary generally good. There were some very early starts. However, the 2nd half of the trip (after Antarctica) had TOO MANY people, over 100, so much queueing and time wasting for buses and planes….if we had known about the big numbers, we would have done our own plan for the 2nd half of the trip….it is not luxury travelling with that many people…

APT Solara

Although the river cruise we went on ( APT Solara) I feel there are some factors which are not mentioned in the brochure and not clarified when we asked questions of the company before travelling. For instance the dining experiences are not as flexible as we thought . The venues other than the bistro are pre-allocated and you have no choice as to which venue you would like or when. te food choices in bistro were a bit limited - sometimes we only wanted a light meal which was not always available on the set menu. Low sugar drinks for those who do not drink alcohol is limited ( but this is common to all cruises) especially if you do not like coke. The plumbing system noises from other cabins is very noticeable especially in the middle of the night - coupled with engine and boat noises when going through locks etc did not make for a pleasant nights rest. Information about room facilites we obtained by email before cruise were incorrect. We found than contrary to what we were told there are USB ports ( both type A and C ) and there is a kettle not a coffee machine. There was no heating in the shower room - not even a heated towel rail. A lot of seating in the salon looked nice but were too low to get up easily when you are a certain age. Planning for some excursions were poor - especially the longer ones and could be improved. Considering the price we paid and the cruise being described as luxury we were disappointed overall and will not use APT again.

Excellent customer service

Excellent holiday booking support

Never having booked a holiday previously with APT we had a few questions, however Grace was extremely helpful and was able to answer everything well. Additionally, whilst we were speaking she was able to offer us different flight options such that in the end everything was as we wanted and we confidently were able to book the European Gems River cruise as we wanted it with flights, cabin and extra hotel stay. Grace's professional, knowledgable and personable approach helped significantly.

Attended the Holiday and Travel show at Olympia and met Hayden on the Travelmarvel stand. He was instrumental in making our booking last year for our trip from Rome to Venice. APT's tour services left a lasting…

APT's tour services left a lasting impression with their remarkable efficiency and cozy coaches, and seat rotation added to the experience. The bus driver was not only well-informed but also had a delightful sense of humor. The freedom to choose activities was particularly appreciated. Our Tour Director ensured we stayed on schedule, which was commendable. Accommodations were satisfactory, though the packed itinerary limited our time to enjoy the amenities. The meals were good, and it would be ideal to have more flexible dining hours in the evenings. The tour started early each morning, usually at 6:30 am, so a relaxation day mid-tour would be beneficial. All in all, I highly recommend APT and eagerly anticipate future tours with them.

Miserable

Miserable, terrible and dishonest has been our experience when they cancelled a cruise 5 months out and treated us like lepers. Didn't want to know us because they didn't go through with their promise of the tour. Only offer was to return our deposit monies while destroying our planned travel plans.. as we built out travel plans around this cruise. The customer service team had this obsequious script where they are soooo sorry and then offer NOTHING. Wishing the same karma to this miserable company that they caused us

Friendly, professional, helpful advice.

I rang to enquire about a cruise on the river Douro as we have been on river cruises with APT before and always found them well organised, with good accommodation, food and service on board and excellent guided excursions. I spoke to Haydn who was professional and friendly, answering all my questions and concerns which made me feel that the holiday would be right for us and that if we needed further help with anything, he would assist us. Having a friendly, helpful person on the phone certainly encourages me to book a holiday with the Company.

Grace Murley has been wonderful from…

Grace Murley has been wonderful from start to finish. I rang to enquire about a Danube river cruise on behalf of my parents, to mark my mum's 80th birthday, and Grace was very patient and incredibly thoughtful in walking me through the various options and pros and cons of both brands, APT and Travel Marvel, and of various cruises. In the end we found one my parents are really excited about. Grace's knowledge gave me and my parents the confidence to book. She's a great asset to your team!
