Photo scam at Booking.com

Ah, Giada and Booking.com, where dreams of serene sea views and spacious living rooms are expertly transformed into the reality of noisy squares and cramped quarters. Bravo!

Imagine my delight when I booked an apartment boasting a "living room with a sea view." I envisioned tranquil mornings with coffee in hand, gazing at the endless horizon. Instead, we were treated to the pulsating beats of a DJ until 1:00 AM, courtesy of the bar right below my window. Who needs the sound of waves when you can have a live concert every night, right?

And let's talk about space. The advertised apartment in the photos did not live up to expectations and what was presented. Perhaps Giada and Booking.com measures space in a parallel universe where everything is twice as big.

The photos on booking.com, which I meticulously scrutinized before booking, were apparently just "examples of possible apartments." Silly me for expecting the actual apartment to resemble the pictures in any way.

The lady in the reception was very nice and did try to resolve the situation but the owner was just not interested.

Thank you, Giada and Booking.com, for the invaluable lesson in managing expectations. Next time, I'll know that "sea view" might just mean "view of a sea of people".
