Ineffective and Charged without Consent

I love natural remedies and bought several of their products on subscription to try out over the years. I didn’t receive positive results or notice any difference. The only exception is wine-down which is relaxing but gives me weird dreams so I stopped taking it.

My biggest concern is they started charging me for products I didn’t order. For example - they sent me 2 $150+ orders within 3 weeks!! I contacted them right when I got the email an order was placed and said I didn’t authorize the charge. They said there is nothing they can do because it is already in motion - even though it hasn’t shipped yet. Then they told me if I wanted my money back I had to go to the post office and pay for shipping or refuse it at delivery. What a mess. There is also no way to delete your account completely.

Such a disappointment! I would love to support a company like this but they are clearly using unethical and possibly even illegal practices based on these reviews I’m seeing and my own experience. If you try them I would suggest avoiding subscriptions.

Misleading Shipping Fees

Very deceptive company! I had subscribed to a few of their products and bought enough in my initial purchase to qualify for free shipping. In my next subscription, I had removed one of the products but still had a good amount (around $90). The subscription page in my account had everything itemized and said free shipping so figured I was OK. When the actual order came through, the email confirmation showed I was charged $8.99 for shipping. When I reached out and asked them why I was charged for shipping even though my subscription page said free shipping (I also had a screenshot and showed them), they simply apologized for the “confusion“ and offered to ADD things to my subscription for the future. I immediately canceled my subscription and expressed my frustration, but they did not care and did not correct their mistake. Never shopping here again.

Waste of money 👎

Products purchased: Wine Down and Take the Edge Off. Pure marketing gimmick, does absolutely nothing for me. Waste of money, honestly. Won't repurchase.

Bad customer service and lead lawsuits

Initially I loved the product, although in retrospect think it's just a placebo. Which is unfortunate as I ordered my bottles directly from their online store and cancelled the subscription when they said they couldn't fulfil it.

I then received an email saying your subscription is being filled. I contacted them and said this has been cancelled please do not proceed to ship.

Their response was basically oh yes I see that but too bad it's already being filled and the following day shipped a whole new order to me. So now I have double the product and double the expense being $175 nzd for the last order.

I will not be using this company again as they have bad customer service, it is expensive and process is terrible slow shipping and I have never been told you can't cancel something before it's shipped ever! Especially considering they couldn't fill the subscription in the first place.

As well as in retrospect could be selling ground up sawdust and it would have the same effect as well as have been taken to court regarding lead in their products now I have read more online.

I Believe Apothekary Is A Gimmick. Do Not Buy!

I bought 3 products from Apothekary after havinng seen so many instagram ads by them. I was enticed.

I was skeptical, because I often find natural products to not truly work as advertised, but Apothekary sold me.

I bought the blue metabolism booster dropper.
It tastes great. It really is a pretty blue colour.
But beside’s that, I can’t say I’ve noticed any change at all with anything.

I bought the Do Not Disturb sleep aid powder.
OH MY GOD the taste is disgusting! Not just bad, but revolting! I’m not being a hater - It really does almost taste like vomit to me. I was SO disappointed because I was looking for an alternative to melatonin tablets that I rely on. Not only did Do Not Disturb taste horrible, but it also did nothing for me!

Lastly, I purchased Stop Your Wine-ing.
Another huge disappointment. The product doesn’t mix well, in hot or room temperature liquid. It had a LOT of grainy texture that stayed in my juice or water that did not go away despite using a handheld mixer. The sediment both sank and floated, so if I really wanted it out, I’d have to strain it. But it’s a lot of product that’s supposed to be IN my drink, so I didn’t.
I was really looking forward to the “relaxing” feature of this product. I did not feel any difference. None whatsoever. And I was sober to make sure I would notice any change, if by chance the product did work. Which it didn’t.

I’m so disappointed. These products aren’t cheap either!

Wow I’ve come on here to suggest the company enlarge the font on their bottles - there is enough room and instructions are important. I just had an eye test and my eyes aren’t bad for my age but it’s almost impossible to read the instructions. I can’t believe there are so many bad reviews here, and the company is risking the product at the expense of terrible customer service. Not sure what’s going on but I’m guessing they are way beyond their depth. Best of luck in lifting your game; you could have a very successful business with some minimal obvious improvements by the looks of these reviews !

I have so far had only good experiences with using this product and with the shipping of the product. Started with trying wine down and take the edge off. Love the products! Even my husband likes take the edge off and he is very skeptical about products like this. I used to drink wine regularly and now use these products to help me relax at night. I just started using blue burn. I just put directly in my mouth. The others I mix with seltzer water and sometimes cranberry juice. I’m a little nervous about subscribing due to some of the reviews, but since there are so many ways to purchase these products, I’ll probably just buy when needed. You can buy some of these products at Ulta as well as Sprouts.

I started with the mini samples Rose colored glasses, Take the edge off and Wine Down. Rose colored glasses didn't seem to do anything for me but the other 2 were great. 2nd order Mindcraft, BlueBurn, Take the Edge Off and Wine Down. I love all of them so far. I have been taking for about a week.
As far as customer service I haven't had to contact them. All orders were on time and what I ordered.

So far so good!

So far, so good. I’ve ordered twice and both were received quickly. My first order was the Free Spirit Minis set with Wine Down, Take the Edge Off, and Rosé Tinted Glasses. I could definitely feel the stress lifted with take the edge off. I would use it under my tongue when I would feel stress starting to hit. Wine down was great before going to bed. I’d mix it with some flavored seltzer. Relaxed me and I slept through the night. Verdict is still out on the rosé. Didn’t notice much of a change with that one but I know each one will react differently. Just ordered full bottles of Wine Down and Take the Edge Off plus I got Blue Burn and Minecraft.

Dry January or Just Dry Hopes?

I purchased the Rosé Tinted Glasses and Wine Down since I typically enjoy red and rosé wines. Following the instructions, I initially mixed the recommended amount with 4 oz of mineral water but felt no relaxing effect as advertised. The next day, I doubled the serving—still nothing. On the third day, I tried taking it directly, yet there was no noticeable difference.

After experimenting with different methods and serving sizes, I’ve given up. While effects may vary from person to person, for me, this feels like a gimmick marketed for Dry January. Save your money.

It would be nice if refunds would be offered.

Buyers beware of expiration dates and customer service

Their website claims products are made to order in their FAQs as part of the explanation of why they don’t accept returns… however when I received a product in my recent order with only 2 months left on its shelf date (in comparison to the 2 years on the others) it was clear I received an older product. Contacted support and they felt that the product was given to me still during its efficacy period and provided no other considerations. I wouldn’t have ordered from them if I saw these other reviews. Shame on me for not doing my research. They seem like scammers and don’t want to do right by their customers. If they believed in their products they would do more to build the trust with their customers. I would have been a reoccurring buyer, but because they shorted me on this $30 and didn’t want to make it right - they lost on the likely hundreds I would have spent. Off to find an alternative.

Terrible customer service

Terrible customer service. I paid for 2 day shipping and they sent it regular Fed Ex. Then I was told I could not cancel. ALEX from "customer service" has no concept of business days, and Apothekary has NO CONCEPT of customer service. They could have rushed me another order, but they did nothing to reimburse me for extra shipping charges. They lost my money and my business. They are LIARS and CHEATS. Apothekary Frauds!

Took money WITHOUT my consent, HORRIBLE customer service

Terrible customer service. I subscribed, I tried the product for a month, I did not care for it, it didn't work for me, so I cancelled my subscription via their online portal after trying the product, then sent another order, I was like ok maybe I missed the cut off for the subscription, thought nothing of it, went online, and verified subscription cancelled, same thing happened the following month. this happened 3 times! They continued to charge my card and send orders, I tried to call with no success, so I had to email them, and they basically said that they show I was ""unsubscribed"" as of that month, and they refuse to refund my money, stating there are no returns after 30 days. Now I need to go to my bank, and dispute the charges, block them from having access to my bank information. I do not recommend this company at all due to the lack of customer service, and a faulty subscription service which is clearly an issue they are not willing to resolve."

Horrible product

Horrible product! horrible customer ! Even though the effect varies per person, I am stuck with something that doesn’t work at all and I have reached out to the company and their response was … it’s too bad you’re stuck with it and asked me to refer to the policy. It clearly shows that they do not care about their customers.
