Ineptitude reigns supreme

Inept, ignorant, refuse to listen and cut you off when you try to explain what you want and are very unhelpful.
They constantly make you irate and as soon you start to raise your voice because they irritate you they hang up so you have to repeatedly have to call back and then wonder why you’re angry.
I thought Westpac’s service bad but these guys are totally useless.

Rubbish customer service made worse with useless AI

They used to have good customer service. These days its rubbish. While overseas, they deactivated my card, but takes them weeks to work that out, (PIN stopped working, so they said reset it, which i did, then they tell me my card no longer works outside EFPOS ). Then they tell me i need a different card (Visa/debit ). So how is a person supposed to live when their money source is cut off. Then you have to deal with stupid AI crap or up to 1hr wait times to talk to anyone, who will tell you to talk to someone else.

Anz did not help me much when atm stole money

I withdrew $100 aud from an atm at colonnades shopping centre in Noarlunga South Australia today. The atm which is called atmx deducted the money from my account but did not dispense the cash. I called the number on the atm which gave no options, help or instructions other than to contact my bank.

When I contacted ANZ they said they would put in a dispute where I may or may not get my money back and that it would take 30 days. Safe to say I shall be switching to a different bank.

Non responsive and without app impossible to contact.

For someone who has moved overseas they have made it completely impossible to contact them. Removed email function from online accounts and keep banging on about downloading the app. But you CANNOT download it when overseas. So the only option is to call internationally and pay a fortune to wait on hold for hours in the middle of the night. Don’t respond to complaints, or even queries around possible scams. Totally frustrated.

Trying to close joint bank account.

Navigating personal and emotional upheaval should never be made harder by a bank’s poor customer service systems. I’ve spent years trying to close a joint savings account under urgent and sensitive circumstances—without any access to the app, no email support, and no toll-free number available for customers outside Australia. I am unable to be in the same room or country as my ex due to these circumstances, yet ANZ offers no clear pathway for resolution.

ANZ’s lack of accessibility and a straightforward request into an exhausting ordeal. I wouldn’t wish this experience on anyone seeking a clean break and peace of mind. I hope this will encourage the bank to resolve this matter sooner rather than later

Refused to close my account

Refused to close my account. Impossible to talk to a person and deliberately time consuming call centre with opening hours which are misleading to WA clients. Opens at WA time and closes at NSW time so you effectively get a small window to contact them. Terrible.

Wish there's a 0 star option

Wish there's a 0 star option

First of all, they keep charging $10 per month for 'account maintenance' which is getting close to the cost of neflix.

Then when you need to transfer the money to another bank cos you have a new homeloan, they quarantine your transaction and hold the money without releasing it back. They also took a whole hour wait before you can talk to them. Then each question is 'handled by a different team' so there's an infinite time of waiting.

Appalling CX

On hold for 1 hour 32 minutes with what I thought was a simple request to reduce my credit limit on my credit card. Passed to 4 x different operators and constantly placed on hold with no resolution to my request. Appalling service.

If I could give 0 stars I would.

If I could give 0 stars I would.

6 weeks into an overseas trip they randomly started declining credit card changes. They didn’t both to text or email or ping me on the app to let me know. After a few days of this, they finally emailed to say the card had been frozen due to unusual charges and provided a number to call them back on. After 30 minutes on call waiting, I eventually gave up and contacted them via the app. The assistance provided was lack luster and they refused to acknowledge any failings in their process.

I would be extremely careful having a credit card with this bank. The systems they use are very unsophisticated and apparently they think cutting off customers without notice is totally fine behavior.

Suffice to say I am cancelling the card. Go with NAB, Revolut, Monzo or pretty much any other bank rather than them.

I would not give any stars if I could

I would not give any stars if I could, I have been on hardship and they have been rude on several occasions, during this time as they took me off, without me knowing then call me to stress me out causing my anxiety to escalate. They had a case manager eventually after I
complained she has left without
responding to my messages. I want to settle my loan and wanted them to take
off some of the intrest charges. I am disappointed that the staff keep stuffing
me around. I would like your help please?
This is just getting ridiculous with this
ongoing stress. My husband was just on the phone today with them still giving him the run around saying that a new case manager will need to contact him back about helping him with the intrest charges, and it could take 5 to 10 business days. Definitely would not recommend to anyone.

ANZ is a biased bank

ANZ is a biased bank and offer preferential interest rates on home loans. They refused a lower than 6.07% while others with similar mortgages get 5.99%. Loyalty of 20 years is not a consideration and considering the offers of other banks with lower rates and better customer care policies. We are disappointed with ANZ!!!
