I called the credit card company and was told that they had about 30 people that booked with this company that had lost there reservation... We need to file a class act law suit against the company... Im looking into this now...

Amona have ceased trading.................We booked a hotel in London through Amona months ago only to find out our booking had been cancelled when we arrived at the hotel on Friday afternoon. Luckily the hotel were very good and had some rooms left as we had our 2 young children travelling with us. But we had to pay for the room again. We are now in the process of trying to retrieve our money. It's absolutely scandalous that Amona or their appointed administrators left us in that situation in having made no attempt to contact us to inform us that they had ceased trading and would therefore lose our booking with the hotel and our money prior to our trip.

I wish I had known about this page before booking my hotel in Glasgow for a few weeks time. Company has ceased trading as of 14th September 2019. I doubt I will hear from them. I have sent my complaint to Hotelbeds dot com. As recommended by my hotel, which has the room booking but hasn't been paid yet. So it looks like I may have to book the room again. I have made a request for a refund via my bank. Which could take months. If I had known how bad AMONA was I would of booked my hotel room directly with the hotel. I heard a lot of fellow customers of the hotel are in the same boat as they too booked via AMONA. I'm not made of money and really need my refund in order to rebook the room. Does anyone know how to get in touch with AMONA directly, seeing as they have now ceased trading. If you're reading this don't book anything with them. Save your money and book directly with the hotel. It may cost you a bit more but it won't end up like this. I have heard nothing from you yet except the reply you have send to everyone at 2.32am on 14th September 2019.

Booked a room in Berlin at the end of November. Me and some friends planned a nice city trip. Suddenly I get an email that they quit with their agency and that we need to check with the hotel if we stillness have a booking. Hotel is now saying that we have cancelled ourself and that we withdraw our money. This never happened, amoma did this and their is no way to get in contact with them at the moment. We lost out money and out room.

Scroll down to to see original review and that after posting same review Amona commented saying someone would be in touch with me. Well, someone DID call. He said they would be in regular contact with hotel trying to engage in re-etablishing original luxury hotel booking at Amoma's expense for price difference (between lux Hotel and inferior offered after 'error') . He DID say it might take about a week but as at today 08/08/19) I have heard no more. Next step ombudsman / small claims court.

I'm still waiting to hear from Amona. Not impressed at at all and I will see this through until I get a satisfactory conclusion.
1st my response to them with their initial communication of 'error' pasted below.

I am absolutely shocked that you can send such an email (see below) so long after the initial booking in April (almost 3 months ago).
You have thrown our well laid out plans into total disarray. I would ask you to consider your duty as Amoma organisation and pay the difference involved in this fiasco. I have examined the alternative hotel you suggest and am sickened at your suggestion given the stark difference in star rating and quality.
We had settled into enjoying the prospect of a most wonderful start to our holiday and now 3 whole months after booking you realise there's been an 'error' of sorts.
Not good enough and I insist this is attended to where we the customer are not loosely given a zero luxury studio style basic accommodation nor a perfunctory refund.
I look forward to hearing from you first thing tomorrow

Do not trust AMONA.
If you have booked a hotel with AMONA contact the hotel to make sure you have a reservation. I booked a hotel in France for one night, paid AMONA and received a booking confirmation from them.
A few weeks later I contacted the hotel to book a table for dinner and they informed me that I definitely do not have a room booked.
AMONA advised me to just turn up to the hotel anyway!!
AMONA will not answer the telephone or give me a refund.

I booked 7 rooms in a hotel for a group of widows. When the vouchers arrived they had actually booked one of the party into a different hotel and after a week of contacting them, there was nothing they could do because THEY had booked the rooms through another third party. All 7 paid the same price to stay in a 4 star hotel but one of our party paid the same price only to be booked into a 3 star hotel two blocks away. Totally dissatisfied with their service. Lesson learned and never again.

the only reason i booked that room was because it was OCEAN VIEW.

I booked an hotel for 3 nights throw Amona, and when I got there, the ladies from the reception gave to me the invoice and I realize that Amona charged more 60€ than the real price! Shame

Never got the room. Amona blamed the hotel or the second party. Said will take 72h to accomplish everything— After 3 weeks I still didnt have a hotel room. Charged $60 for the cancellation fee bc it was “my fault” I was cancelling the nonexistent reservation— that amona had already charged me (>400$). Scam
Room reserved 50 miles away
Searched for a hotel in one city and got a reservation 50 miles away, refund may not be forthcoming , you have to wait up to a month ( 20 business days). Don’t trust em.
Terrible customer service, miss sell rooms!
Searched for a room suitable for two adults and a baby on Trivago in Venice. Was transferred to this site. Looked at a room which said it was suitable for two adults and an infant. Ad said no extra charges except for the city tax which is collected locally. No problem. I book. Voucher says everything is paid for. Don't hear anything from Amona or the hotel about the baby's cot. Eventually get through and am told there is a significant additional charge for the cot (€80 for four nights!) that was not advertised. Spend ages trying to get through to customer service, who are unhelpful and refuse to refund the booking. The hotel and Amona say the baby can sleep in our bed with us. Totally against allsafe sleep guidance. Now going via Amex to get refund.
Avoid these scam artists at all costs!

I am a recent user/customer of Amona. I booked a hotel room in Amstersdam. The place that I booked is is terrible. You could say that it was my fault. Fair enough. But I do travel some and dealing with changing my room booking felt like being ripped off. I'm presently stuck with a $560.00 mistake. All I can say is. Be careful when dealing with this outfit.

On arriving at out hotel for our wedding anniversary weekend we were told the company had not booked our room and had called the hotel that morning to inform them . Not informing us !!! The only room the hotel had was bunk beds which wasnt acceptable at all . The hotel were brilliant as they could see we had travelled a long way and were upset . Ive had no phone call or contact after repeatedly emailing them . DONT BOOK WITH THIS COMPANY
